AAPAW's Mission:
Bring animal welfare organizations and veterinarians together in support of the City of San Antonio's Animal Care Strategic Plan and improve the lives of cats and dogs in San Antonio by:
-Ensuring that every adoptable homeless dog and cat is adopted
-Ending overpopulation by increasing spay/neuter
-Educating citizens in order to prevent animal abuse and promote owner retention
Welcome to the AAPAW yahoo group where members can learn more about what is happening in the animal welfare community. This is a forum for AAPAW members, volunteers and interested citizens to learn about AAPAW-sponsored events, the sharing of ideas and discussions about current issues surrounding animal welfare in San Antonio. Please stay positive and offer solutions and not rehash old problems. As such, basic guidelines should be followed:
1) Please address issues or problems, not people. Comment or criticize the action, not the person. The posting of personal insults, slights, allegations may result in moderator approval of all future posts and/or removal from access to this board.
2) Please do not forward emails to this board unless you have first verified that it is from a known source (to avoid spam and viruses) and of interest to our members. While this is not a rescue list, we do welcome and ask that emergency rescue requests be limited. Please join http://groups.yahoo.com/sapetrescue/) to post and participate in rescue efforts.
3) While all opinions are welcome, we ask that everyone's opinion be respected and that any disagreement be respectful. We can all learn a lot from lively debates!
Not all topics are appropriate for this board, so when in doubt, please review AAPAW's Mission Statement above. We regret that topics that very obviously do not pertain to this board's purpose may have to be deleted, and we will indicate that we are doing so for that reason. Please note that deletion has nothing to do with whether we personally agree with the post or not.
