Algiers Historical Society
Our main purpose is to collect and document
any information about Algiers' history. We
aim to produce a quarterly newsletter which
will include members' articles on their
interests, be it genealogy, the history of their
home, church or business or any other
particular interest they may have relevant to
Algiers.
We encourage African-Americans to join our
society as their history in Algiers has never
been fully addressed. We also encourage
other minority groups to join.
We are to have a museum behind the Algiers
Courthouse in the near future and will be
using material collected from members for
displays and the education of schoolchildren
and tourists.
