Welcome to BBLSS (www.bblss.org), a social and support group established by bisexual Black women to explore sexuality within the context of our experience as African American women, and provide empowering peer support to other bisexual or questioning women in a respectful and confidential environment. Often, mainstream society marginalizes our existence, creating a social disconnect (real or perceived). This group provides a foundation on which to build solidarity and sisterhood as we become increasingly secure with our sexuality.
BBLSS hosts support group meetings the third Saturday of every month, and social events as scheduled in the Washington, DC metro area (Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia). These events provide opportunities to fellowship with women who may be straight, bisexual, or lesbian. Privacy and confidentiality is respected, and all social activities are "women only" unless otherwise specified.
This forum is open to all bi-friendly black women without regard to sexual orientation or geographical location, and all aspects of our lives are open for discussion. These include health, marriage, men, family, politics, racism, and womanism. Express yourself! We routinely unsubscribe inactive members.
