Priorities and Commitments

I have been thinking of what we can do for Uganda in general and Buganda in particular. I have found the solution in the formation of an organization called Buganda Development Foundation which will be our vehicle to be part of the efforts to develop Buganda, and eventually, our motherland Uganda. We will have an interim management team in place which will steer the mission and objectives of this organization. We will individually and collectively outline areas we want to emphasize during the term of the interim leadership.

Realizing what other Ugandans have done from various regions, I sometime ask myself, what have we done for our region? There are quite a few organizations and some are limited because of the legalities and their geographical locations and methods of operation. Then there is always that fear, once you advocate for the development of Buganda and her subjects, you always get that label of being a tribalist and then get scared into oblivion. Other groups have made exceptional progress in many areas like education, social development, entrepreneurship, health and sourcing scholarships for those in need. The values always outweigh the labels one may get while struggling for the betterment of his or her people

I put forth this proposal and call upon you to join me and establish this organization so as to realize our collective priorities and commitments. We will have to devise strategies for growth, innovation and productivity and how we can generate income for ourselves and as well as boosting our national economy, increase and improve the quality of many lives.

Let’s put our heads together and affirm our committment to work for a progressive and prosperous Buganda. Friends of Buganda willing to make positive contribution and bring about economic empowerment are welcome.
