We met online in an HR egroup. We realized that part of the quest for excellence in the HR field, and any other field for that matter, is our evolution into better communicators and public speakers. We knew that Toastmasters would be the perfect next step in this excellence quest. Thus, we formed a spin off egroup, ButterNToast.

The name fits us to a T. Compared to other TM club names, which sport formal names that sound “professional”, BnT is really living up to its name as a more “informal”, and should we say, “wacky” group. The unofficial version of the meaning of our club name is that the newbies can be compared to fresh butter, while our club mentors are toasted or "tostado" with experience. The combination of the fresh and the seasoned makes for the perfect combination.

What started off as an HR egroup in August 2004 is now an actual honest-to-goodness Toastmasters club. BnT Toastmasters was officially charted May 26, 2005; about 9 months after our egroup was born. This baby TM is growing rapidly in membership, and already showing signs of exceptional achievement.

Anyone interested in honing one's public speaking skills while having loads of fun can join this e-group, or can drop by one of our meetings usually held at the Penthouse of the old Makati Stock Exchange Building on Ayala Avenue, Makati City. (You may park at the public parking area just beside the Heritage Library along Makati Ave.) These meetings happen every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Meetings officially start at 7 PM, but you may come earlier to chat and dine. You will be most welcome, and our friendly officers and members will gladly orient you on what it takes to be a Buttery Toasty Toastmaster.
