Hi everyone!

The guild's Holiday Party takes the place of our regular meeting tomorrow night.
The guild is providing dinner and soft drinks - if you would like, bring an
appetizer or dessert to share. We'll also have an optional grab bag for anyone
who wants to participate. Bring a wrapped gift made of polymer clay and get one
in return.

Plus goodie bags ... door prize ... and fun!

We're in a different room than usual. Please enter the church through the center
doors, go UP one flight of stairs and we're in the first room on the left.

Hope to see you tomorrow night!

Jenny

Received this e-mail and thought someone in the guild might be interested:

I was wondering if you or anyone you know might be interested in joining us at
our holiday artisan sale on Dec 5th at Waters (Fine Arts Magnet Cluster) School?
The price for table spaces can't be beat!

Please go to https://waterstoday.org/campaign4.asp
for more info
Waters School is at Wilson and Campbell (near Western Ave)

Thank You,
Marcy

I asked for some additional information about the show, in case this will help
you decide if you want to pursue this:

- what kinds of crafts are usually the most popular?
It's our first annual holiday sale. We had a sale last spring and had a wide
variety.
- what the price ranges usually are
This is the first annual holiday sale. It is a mixed audience some in the area
have money some don't. People do spend money though at our silent auctions!
- do you take a percentage, have an entry fee for shoppers or only make money
off the table sales
Artisans keep their profits. This is intended as a community event and intended
to support the arts. The only cost is $20 for the table.
- how many people do you expect
We have families from the school, and a Linclon Square audience (and possibly
more). I advertise on the alderman's site, in the Reader, on Kijji, Craig's
list, Have flyers at Sulzer library, Old Town School of Folk Music, in stores
along Linclon Ave, with local neighbors.....and we are still exploring new
options.

Since I can't find the VHS tape "Exploring Liquid Sculpey" by Jody Bishel, I
thought it may have been one of the items I sold at the 2009 Library Sale in
March. I didn't save my list of the items that sold so I can't check. If someone
bought it would you let me know so I can delete it from the current library
inventory list.

I've only done this once or twice, and I can quite remember the
steps. The thing where you take a color copy, rub it on to some poly
clay, then rub off the paper with gin, sprayed in a spray bottle.

Does anyone have the instructions for that?

Thanks!

this is the recipe from my old church cookbook. I used it for my kids.
Had some in the fridge for 5 years, it kept very well

1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 cup water
1 tablespoon cooking oil
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
food coloring.

Mix the ingredients in a medium saucepan and heat, stirring, until the
mixture boils and thickens. It should be about the texture of mashed
potatoes. Cool slightly and knead briefly. Keep in a plastic bag, refrigerate
for
long-term storage. Nice texture and no heavy plastic smell.

Barbara Forbes-Lyon, IPCA retreat chair, asked me to post this request. If you
are attending the retreat and have a reliable convection oven you'd be willing
to bring for use during the retreat, please e-mail me.

Thanks,

This message is for those who attended the workshop with Marla Frankenberg this
past Saturday 5/30/2009.

Some of you either did not have the issue of Polymer Cafe or could not find the
issue that has the instructions for this cane in your collection.

The article is in the August of 2008 issue. The magazine cover has a picture of
a large yellow orchid.

If you do not have the issue, and wish to purchase it, it is available for sale
on the Polymer Cafe website as a single issue.
