Collaborative Opportunities for Raising Empowerment, Inc. (CORE) is a not-for-profit organization composed of a volunteer group of young Filipino professionals in the New York Tri-State area. CORE's primary vision is to empower Filipino professionals as a collective body in the United States. It also seeks to provide an avenue for socio-economic involvement to build a stronger Filipino American community.
CORE's activities include READ Philippines, an initiative adopted by CORE that establishes Philippine book collections in public and school libraries throughout Metropolitan New York area; “Harnessing Individual Successes Toward Collective Empowerment,” the annual summit that gathers and empowers young professionals (with attendees hailing nationally); yearly lighting of the Empire State Building in the colors of the Philippine flag; and numerous programs and projects that provide professional and personal value to our membership and society.
CORE has worked with the Philippine Consulate General, Filipino Young Professionals of New York City (FYP-NYC), Filipino American Human Services, Inc. (FAHSI), Philippine New York Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees), Inc., Ateneo Eastern States Foundation, Arkipelago and Maarte.org, Filipino Information Technology Group, Inc. (FITG), FIND Alumni, National Federation of Filipino American Associations - NY and NJ, Filipino American Association of Engineers NY/NJ/Connecticut (FAAE), Filipino American Coalition for Environmental Solutions (FACES), Maharajah USA, Inc., Philippine Independence Day Committee, Inc. (PIDC), UNSRC Philippine Cultural Society, and many others.
