This email group is an online network for all San Diego LGBT seniors. Here you will be able to find information on resources, activities, services and events for seniors. Feel free to begin discussions on pertinent issues or just tell us about a fun event!! You may just find that others can help and relate! The group is moderated in part by the Coordinator of Senior Services at The San Diego LGBT Community Center. History on the formation of these services is given below.

The Senior Advisory Committee (formerly C.U.S.P.) meets at the Center
the first Thursday of every month at Noon. This is not drop-in meeting but all seniors are welcomed to join officially. If you would like to join the committee please contact the coordinator at 619-692-2077, x206

History:
This organization started as S.W.A.P.- Seniors With A Purpose, as grassroots community project. It evolved into C.U.S.P.- Center's United Senior Project, made up of volunteers and some support from The Center, the group continued until a paid coordinator was hired in 2005.

The group has evolved into The Senior Advisory Committee but still has the original goals below. The only difference is the name and the fact that it is a fixed committee. This change was made to ensure quality program development from committed individuals. All are welcome to serve on this committee (regular commitment required).

The Senior Advisory Commitee is a group of seniors in the SD LGBT community (many are members of various local LGBT Senior organizations) that advise The San Diego LGBT Center on senior needs as well as assist in meeting those needs. The commitee also helps facilitate a dialog between SD LGBT groups in order to better connect LGBT Seniors to support services and each other.
