Greek Festivals, Equinox Festival, Cafe Aman, and more   Message List
Reply Message #452 of 549 |
Scroll down for the calendar.

There are two Greek festivals this weekend, plus Cafe Aman on Saturday night and
the Equinox Festival on Sunday (with Balkan music in the morning featuring Bill
Cope and Pat McSwyney's Mehanatones, with Sherry Cochran teaching beginning
Balkan dance.)

The Equinox Festival is the reincarnation of the Summer Solstice Festival, and
plans to return to its rightful place on the calendar next year, when it will
not compete with the annual free Waltz and Hambo Workshop.

Cafe Aman presents teaching by John Filcich and live music with Veselba. (Jerry
Summers will be sitting in for Ian Price, who is in Europe.) Sat Sep 11,
7:30-11:30, 10469 Santa Monica Blvd, West LA.

Mark your calendars: on Thursday, Sept 23, Milen Kirov will bring his Orchestar
MEZE to Club Malabomba at the Bordello Bar downtown.

And remember - tickets for the Intersection Reunion/Athan Karras memorial on Oct
23 must be purchased by October 9, 2010, through Brown Paper Tickets:

Bad timing:
Ted Martin and Cameron Flanders are giving a free Waltz and Hambo Workshop on
Sunday September 12 from 2-5 PM at the Woman's Club of Bellflower with live
music by Skandia South Dance Club Musicians. Ted recommends smooth soled shoes
for these dances.
