Description

This group is established to seek change to current law that bars Chapter 61 retirees from benefits authorized those with 20 years of retirement service. This list is for those persons involuntarily retired for medical disability under title 10 United States Code Chapter 61. The National Defense Authorization Act of 2005 establishes Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC) and Concurrent Retired Disability Pay (CRDP) for active and reserve retirees with at least 20 years of service and TERA retirees with at least 15 years of service. Inexplicably this same law specifically denied CRSC and CRDP to Chapter 61 retirees. The NDAA 2008 extended CRSC, but not CRDP, to Chapter 61 retirees. To keep from overloading your mail box with yet another source of messages, discussion here will be limited mostly to Chapter 61 issues.
