Our Monday Evening Chat and Film Viewing movie for this week
is "Charlie Chan in Egypt," starring Warner Oland. Charlie Chan
visits the land of the pyramids at the request of the French
Archeological Society, seeking to find how Egyptian antiquities,
promised to the Society have turned up in private collections.
Suddenly, this becomes a case of murder which may involve an ancient
curse!

We begin, as usual, at 8:00 p.m., EASTERN time with arrivals and
greetings and a trip to Virginia's virtual beverage cart. Then,
thirty minutes later, we begin running our personal copies of this
very worthy film, which allows us to watch it together as our
evening's discussion progresses.

Our Chat Room is located at our Charlie Chan Family Home, which is
found at www.charliechan.info. Once there, please use any of
the "Chat Room" links to join us.

Even if you do not happen to have a copy of our featured movie,
please do join us, as you will NOT be left out of our ongoing chat
and festivities. Also, as is our custom, newcomers are offered the
seat of honor at our humble table.

Let's get together for much more fun as we watch Warner Oland
in "Charlie Chan in Egypt"…

Hi gang,
I know we have been discussing this in the message board area and I
thought I would present the idea here.

http://www.cafepress.com/chanfamily

The above link is a new store front that I've created. It's temporary
for now. Can't say if I we do this or not. The site is very strict
about copyright infringement. So I don't know if we can legally use
photos from the internet or posters, or whatever. For the shirt in the
store, I used the Chan family logo created by our humble leader, Rush.
On the back I put one of the aphorisms.

If there is anyone out there who knows what we can and cannot use
without getting a lawsuit, please e-mail me and let me know.

Chris.

Dear Chris,

I am well aware of this discussion. It is a good idea. As for copyright
infringements, I would have to see what I can find out and let you know of my
fidnings. I have things that are protected by copyright. As I stated before, I
will look into it. See what I can find.

Our Monday Evening Chat and Film Viewing for this week is "Charlie
Chan in Reno," starring Sidney Toler in his second appearance as
Charlie Chan. At the behest of a good friend in Honolulu, Charlie
Chan flies to the mainland to try to prove the innocence of his
friend's estranged wife who stands accused of murder. Can Mr. Chan
punch a hole in what appears to be an open and shut case in the
divorce capital of Reno, Nevada? We shall see…together!

Our Monday Evening Chat and Film Viewing for this week is "Charlie
Chan in in the Secret Service," starring Sidney Toler. This was the
first Charlie Chan film made by Monogram Pictures, and although the
drop in production budget as compared with its Fox predecessors is
readily apparent, this is still a worthy entry in the series. In
this film, we see the beginnings of what would become mainstays in
the Monogram Charlie Chan series. Mantan Moreland appears for the
first time as Birmingham Brown, and Benson Fong is Number Three Son,
Tommy, for the first time, too. Also, Marianne Quon is Number Two
Daughter, Iris, the first time that a Chan daughter appears on a case
with Charlie Chan! All of this plus a perplexing mystery with
international implications…

We begin, as usual, at 8:00 p.m., EASTERN time with arrivals and
greetings and a trip to Virginia's virtual beverage cart. Then,
thirty minutes later, we begin running our personal copies of this

Hey Gang,
Just wanted to let you that my book is online and available for
purchase. Click here... http://www.lulu.com/content/949183

If you order it before Wedenesday you will only pay $20 for it! I have
a couple Charlie Chan references in the story. This is something you
most likely will not see in any other book!!

Hope you enjoy it!!

BTW, I decided against the merchandise idea for Chan stuff. Too risky
in regards to copyright material.

DVDx is a program designed to let people make backups of their DVDs
onto computer or CD. In order to streamline the process, we've provided
a step-by-step guide to configuration and use of the program.
Most shorter features will only need one CD. As a general rule, most
CDs will store about 80 minutes of video, depending on the quality of
the CD. (CD brands will vary between storing 650 MB and 750 MB, with
some examples going up to 800 MB.) Longer features might need two CDs.
It's very rare that a single feature is so long that it requires more
than two CDs to archive.

It's a celebration of, you guessed it, The Blob, which was filmed not
too far from where I live. I grew up watching and LOVING that flick.
It's a hoot and it's even more fun to watch with people who really get
it and laugh in all the right places! It's also a fun weekend for
families.
Cheers,
Betsy

I remember the Blob. The remake I laughed. So cheap the remake. As for the
orginal. When I was younger, I wouldn't eat jelly that much. Then they made
other Blob movies which were also a joke. I recall laughing at certain parts in
the movie.

She appearred at Blobfest 2007. I recognized her from her old photos.

It's the story of my life that I can only get to parts of Blobfest;
Even tho I cleared my schedule, something came up that I had to be at.

Blobfest also doesn't quite get the info out there of who is coming!!!
It's not on their web. I'm sure that Chan fans would like to meet
her!!! Sheesh, Blobfest organizers!!!!

This evening, our Monday Evening Chat and Film Viewing movie is "The
Trap," starring Sidney Toler in what was to be his final appearance
as Charlie Chan. In this adventure, death stalks an entourage of
beautiful young ladies at a Malibu Beach house.

Let's get together for much more fun as we watch Sidney Toler in "The
Trap"…

Sincerely,
Rush Glick

Dear all,

I am sorry I couldn't attend the chat last night. I went on a job
interview and later on visted surrogant family. They said they would
let me know. This is thejob I applied for as Vet assitant. This
afternoon, I am going to building star for an interview.

I got back long after the chat was over. I spent time with the
surrogant family. So we were doing Karaoke. I got one for a girl who
loves to sing and got Silly Songs Karoke.

Hi there Hounder. I was lookin to be there if yourecall the previous Monday I
said it might have been my last Mionday with you all. Well it wasn't. The 30th
was the last monday with you all. Ihave towait for my uniforms. Not only that I
had to call the man today and tell him of the trip I was taking. Still hasn't
gotton back to me yet.

What gets me is that I am told that you can tell an employer who hires you of
the plans you made. They accept it. Now the same person is telling me, well you
know you go the job. You should cancel. Little do they know I will lose out on
what I had already paid. There are no refunds. I am stil going to the fest. I
left the man who hired a message, and now I am waiting for his call.

I know I will be missed. As I will miss you all. I called theman who hired me,
to tellof the trip. didn't hear back. So I am gonna there tomorrow. And I shall
see what happens. Now i spoke to the person who said maybe i should not go. They
said what will you do if Joe don't go. This is my last chance. Joe said he will
do what it needs to get me there. Now I am having doubts.
