I am getting ready to offer a writing/art journaling small group (through our
church) this summer, and had to do a sample journal so people might get the idea
of what they would be doing. Especially with the 'art' part of it. I am
calling it 'creative embellishing' so they don't scare off easily!!! I am using
composition books as the basis, of course!

Here is a link to my blog, where some of the pages appear. If you have any
other fast (think 15 minutes!) and easy embellishment ideas, throw them my way!

Hi Melissa.  Sorry I don’t have any original ideas for you, but it looks like you’ve already gotten a really good start on your own.  I’m sure your class will be fun.  Wish I could attend!

Catalyst #21:  What's your first memory of love?

Catalyst #22: What's your biggest accomplishment?

Catalyst #23: What's something you collect or hoard?

Catalyst #24: What's something that inspires you?

Catalyst #25:  What's something you fear?

To hear the sound of the wolf is to experience a singularly moving sensual experience of wilderness. Sound of unreachable quality, seeming weird and inhuman. But not unearthly. For it is of the essence of the creature wolf: of his spirit, his being, his truth. A transcendental song that took form uncounted millennia before time was defined. Something elemental. A living call from the past. A revelation of the very Universe.

I love your pencollection, lots of those pens with moving elements I see. My husband and I gave such pens to our withnesses at our wedding to sign the marriage certificate with; my husband got hold of some pens that showed a tram driving back and forth past a field with a cow, he's a public transport geek and I love cows so it was perfect for us ;-)

Great pages, Walks! But how can someone who likes wolves be afraid of a little
ole grasshopper? BTW, how did you like the new X-men movie? I keep meaning to
see it but I haven't found time. I loved the previous ones but my son says his
friends gave this one mixed reviews. I want to see it either way, just to see
Hugh Jackman. :)

Melisa,
Obviously you have not see Texas Grasshoppers.  These buggers are up to 5 inches long and hurt when they hit you, some can even bite.  And when I was a little girl, my cousins thought it was great sport to stuff them down my shirt.  *shudders*  I hate 'em!  *chuckles*

Loved the new X-men movie.  Even though Gambit's attempt at a Cajun accent left a lot to be desired, the movie over all was good.  And, the added bonus of seeing a nekkid, buff Hugh Jackson go streaking for a few seconds, is a good incentive to see the movie.  *laughs*

Journaling with limits: Fill a journal, one weekend (or other time-frame) to do
it, limited colours other constraints. How many pages can the journaler do
before inspiration runs dry? = Extreme Journaling = pushing the limits :-)

My fibromyalgia would act up long before my inspiration would run dry. However, extreme journaling sounds fun. Maybe on a really good day I will try it and see how long I can go before I am in too much pain. I will put the idea in my artist's notebook as something to do.

Oh, THOSE grasshoppers. Yeah we have those huge ones here and I have to admit
they creep me out. We have the ones called painted grasshoppers, which are kinda
pretty but still creepy, and these really scary black ones with a red stripe.
They're so big they can't even hop properly. Creepy.
Nekkid Hugh? Now I'm even more upset that I didn't get to go this weekend. Hubby
has promised Thursday, though. As far as the Cajun accent goes, I have yet to
hear Hollywood produce anything that wasn't ridiculous. That pretty much goes
for any southern accent they attempt, though. They should send someone down here
to Louisiana to actually LISTEN to a few people before they try to imitate it.

I can tolerate the little tiny green ones (that are under an inch long), but any thing over that I get very nervous around.  *chuckles*

Seriously.  If you like Hugh Jackson.  See the movie.  *chuckles*  Amen on the southern accents!  *laughs*
