Welcome to the Detonics Collectors Association site. This site provides a forum for fans of the original Detonics pistols, built in Washington State in the 1970’s and 1980’s, to exchange information about these remarkable guns in a friendly manner. Detonics’ first production pistol was the compact Combat Master Mark 1, which started production with serial 2001, shown on this page. As you will see from postings on this site, Detonics produced additional versions of the Combat Master, and later produced the larger framed model 1911A1 style pistols, the Scoremaster and the Servicemaster.

We want this site to be a helpful source of historical information, primarily related to the Seattle/Bellevue manufacturing operations of Detonics and New Detonics, but also including the brief New Detonics operation in Phoenix. The history of Detonics includes many ups and downs, but this site’s focus is on the Seattle company’s pistols that revolutionized the production of the compact .45 and of stainless steel pistols in general.
