Just finished up a lovely weekend in celebration of my
long awaited twentieth birthday but now it's time for
finals and all those end of the semester brutalities.
I think I'm heading over to Fitchburg State College
next Wednesday afternoon to see Ted Leo play a free
show. Yay, fun, yay.

Hey everyone,
Finals sure are fun. Come Friday, I'll be free for the
summer and that will be faaantastic. The only thing
getting me through the week is the fact that Life
Aquatic comes out on DVD today! HOORAY!

I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I

Hey everyone,
It pleases me to see that Ken Jennings is back on
Jeopardy. Nothing completed me more than making fun of
that chap on a daily basis and now that he has
returned, I feel alive again.
I started my new job at Digital Credit Union today and
pretty much the highlight of my training was finding
out that there is free ice cream everyday and that the
vending machines have .25 cent snacks and .50 cent
beverages!! AND we have a game room with pool tables,
playstation, and pinball machines! Is this a job or a
wonderland? Oh my.
Prepare to be stalked by me this week. Phone tag will

Hey folks,
Much excitement for this week's shows! Tonight, I'll
be seeing Spoon which has been on my list of things to
do since high school so it's kind of a big deal.
Thursday night is LCD Soundsystem and M.I.A and
Saturday will hopefully be Architecture in Helsinki if
I'm feeling daring enough to use my fake ID to get in.

Hi friends,
This weather offends me. Humidity needs to take a
permanent leave of absence from my life. That is all.
Last week was eventful in the show sense. I saw Spoon,
LCD Soundsystem, M.I.A. and Head Automatica. M.I.A.
was incredible. If they're in the area, I highly
recommend you venture out to the choice venue and take
a gander. Dance you will. I must warn you, though.
There is a 100% guarantee of a crush development. Head
Automatica was also dance party u.s.a but the whole
experience was kind of spoiled by the excessive amount
of mallcore kids.
There is no physical difference between Johnny Damon,
Julia Stiles, and Mickey Dolenz from The Monkees.

Greetings from my cubicle.
Last night, I saw Brazilian Girls and Tortured Soul
and oh man, oh man, oh man. FANTASTIC show. Sabina
pranced around in this tattered hot pink tutu-like
creation with her "SI" sunglasses, Bjork inspired
updo, and hot pink heels. They went on later than
expected so I had planned to stay for a few songs and
then sneak out for an early bedtime, but I couldn't
bring myself to leave. You MUST see them if you get a
chance.

Happy 4th, all. Today was spent at Windersheek Beach
in Gloucester and it was quite possibly the best day
to sprawl out on a blanket. With the exception of the
millions of screaming children, it was quite relaxing
and most necessary. It's back to the office tomorrow
though and thumbs down to that.
Is it just me or is the CMJ line up just not that
yay-like? I was expecting a lot more from it
especially with it being the 25th Anniversary and all
but it kind of made me weep. I'm really pulling for
the "and many more to be announced." Where's my Bloc
Party? Where's my Danko Jones? Ivy? Stars? LCD? Eeesh.

Hello, hi, how are you!
Fantastic time in NYC this past weekend. Bounced
around Manhattan and Brooklyn to say hola to some
friends alongside my myspace/livejournal friend. Oh,
if only my mother knew that I always made voyages to
visit internet randoms. My head would be hers.
It turns out I have absolutely no concept of the NYC
subway system and I congratulate those of you who do.
Too many numbers, letters, colors, everything. Boston
provides public transportation for the incompetent and
to that, I say thank you.
I may or may not have seen subway rats attempt

Hi lovelies,
Why I feel so compelled to wear sweaters in 100%
humidity is beyond me. Really. It's probably just my
ode to autumn, the greatest season to ever exist.
EVER.
I recently spent my entire summer earnings on a plane
ticket to Florence Italy. Just about every one of my
friends from school are studying there for the
semester so I'll have a place free of charge to rest
my head at night. Triple hoorah for Thanksgiving
break. Contrary to popular belief, those student
discount websites are complete rip offs. Sure the
ticket is 400 but the taxes and fees are close to an
additional 300. Praise them gas prices.
It doesn't make me cool that I engage in 1am arguments
over the relevancy and greatness of economics.

Hey guys,
I saw Wedding Crashers on Saturday night. Vince Vaughn
and Owen Wilson have no concept of disappointing
audiences. As for the soundtrack, it couldn't be any

La la la hello,
Basically dreading 5:30 and the upcoming dentist
appointment. Everytime I go in there, it's the same
thing. Bleeding gums, gagging, and a lecture on
flossing. My least favorite part about the whole visit
is when they make you hold a mirror up to your mouth
to show you how to properly brush but it's the kind of
mirror that is magnified 2000x and you're attention is
redirected from your teeth to your pores and the only
thing left to do is cry yourself to sleep.
Any suggestions for super cheap hotels for CMJ? Our
school covers about $10 of our expenses so I'm in dire
need of some reduced rates.

Who's the asshole who totaled 2 cars in 2 seconds? Hi,
yes, that would be me. My title as "the best at being
the worst driver" has officially been revoked. R.I.P.
my lovely lovely Subaru Forrester. Those cars are
diesel. If you are as awful of a driver as me, I
recommend investing in one of those. It will gladly
take it's life for you. On a similar note, I am now
taking suggestions for cheap reliable cars that are
under 10k! Suggest away. I tried doing some online car
shopping last night but it was a futile attempt. No
idea what I was doing. Let's be serious here. My dream
car is a Wagoneer. I think that says something.
For some reason, I was dragged into seeing "The Devils
Rejects" the other night and um, c'est horrible it
was. Needless to say we left the theater early.

If I never had to shake hands with another car
salesman, I'd be pretty good. I've been mingling with
them all weekend and still remain vehicle-less. My top
choices keep bouncing between focuses, sentras, and
aveos and hopefully by today, I'll be able to narrow
down the options. I opt for the aveo/focus but mother

Hey Everybody,
Nick from WTBU here. I know we've kinda dropped off the face of the
planet in terms of posting to this Email list, but all that will change
very soon. Unlike a lot of you guys, we're off the air over the summer,
and thus, have nothing terribly interesting to report. That is, until
now.
As I'm sure everybody knows, CMJ is happening in 3ish weeks, which, of
course, rocks my fucking world. I had such a good time last year, and
meeting a lot of you guys was definately a major reason for that. So, the
point of this whole Email is to try and get everybody together again down
in the city. Nothing says bonding like getting plastered at kickass shows
and going to afterparties at strip clubs (what? diplo dj'ed at a strip
club last year...), am I right?
On a slightly more serious note, I know at least we and the folks from
WBRS have been casually kicking around the idea of throwing a combined
show for the past year. So, why not actually do it this year? Let's take
this whole GBCRC thing to the streets and show all the assbag commercial radio
stations in Boston what college radio is really capable of. And, I figure
that a few of the more sober hours of CMJ would be a great place to talk
about it, that is, if any of you would be interested.
The basic idea is that a few stations, ours included, pool resources, book
a good venue, and most importantly, book a few great bands that only a
very small number of stations around here could afford on their own.
Granted, this will require some extra work, but if enough of you guys are
get seriously interested in making this happen, I really don't see a way
that your extra time would be considered a waste. I mean, this would be a
legit, history-making effort, and I'm certainly up for it if you guys are.
So, get back to me about whether or not you'll be at CMJ and/or if you are
interested in getting your station involved in throwing a major,
multi-station supported show. We'll get the ball rolling in NYC, and go
from there.
Enjoy the last days of summer, and I'm looking forward to seeing you guys
again.

My teeth are shifting but I'm back at school and more
than ready to get going with them office hours once
again. Hours will depend on whether or not I am
accepted for a previously applied for internship but
for now, I'll be around on Wednesday and Friday this

I woke up to Paris Hilton standing in my room this
morning. Lifesize cardboard cut out that is. My friend
initially had it smooshed behind his dresser so I
decided I would save her from the dreary location and

It was most fantastic finally getting the chance to
meet most of you and to be able to finally put a face
to the voice. I'm amazed that any of us are still
alive after everything that went on. I for one will be
spending the next few days working on bringing my BAC
back down to the legal level. On that note, I need to
go take a drug test to prove my moral dedication to my
employer.

Hi hi hi,
For those of you who are into the rice cake scene, I

Based on the fact that the bag of 14 is now down to 3,
I'm going to have to go ahead and say that I'm just a
huge masochist.
Last week I saw Four Tet, Annie, and Royksopp. This
week, I see Robbers on High Street and the Most Serene
Republic. Meanwhile, my GPA is crashing down because
my girl-on-the-go lifestyle detracts from any and all
studying time. If anyone has ever taken Corporate
