Subject: Oil question

Greetings everyone~~

I've been trying to find a way to color vegetable oils and glycerin
for bath oils. Liquid food coloring does not work (of course) and I
was wondering if any of you had suggestions.

Check out your local craft store and look for coloring for soaps,
Michaels, Tall Mouse, etc...should have them.

I tried looking this up for you, but didn't find anything obvious, I'm afraid. 
I imagine you're talking about the food coloring found in grocery stores (like
McCormack or Schilling)?   The only thing I found that *might* work would be on
this link.  I really don't know, because I've never tried to do this. . .it
could well be that these colors would not mix well either, since they are for
candy/foods.  I also tried searching health food sites but came up with nothing
at all.  Perhaps if there is one in your area, you could go in and ask someone?

From what I understand, when people color oils they simply boil colored herbs
into them, and strain the herb out so the color remains. . .but then that would
change your recipe and add the properties of the colored herbs, and probably
defeat the whole purpose!  Like I said, I have never personally tried to do
this, so I could be way off base here.

Merry Meet Willow. This may be a dumb question but may I ask exactly
where the The Crystal Cauldron is located? I'd most certainly love to
meet Gerina Dunwich and to have her sign a book, words just could not
explain how happy I would be.

Last weekend Dorothy Morrison was in the state in which I live doing
classes, seminars, readings and book signings. We { my husband and I }
were all set to go to the book signing when something very 'unfortunate'
came up at our restaurant which required his attention, so I'll have to
wait until next year for her book signing. BTW, I was not able to drive
to see { and get my book signed } Dorothy Morrison since I have panic
disorder :( and my husband was the one who would have drove me there.

Okay I'm done rambling!

Greetings Magickal folk!

In light of the escalation of violence world-wide, and in an effort to
curcumvent yet another "World War", On March 28th of the Gregorian year
of 2002 during the Full Moon, Witches, Wiccans, Pagans, Heathens and
other
Magickal folks banded together to work Magick and meditation, in order
to
promote world peace and Global Unity of our species, by raising the
spiritual consciousness of Mankind. That was Phase I, and thousands of
caring folk around the globe participated in the working. We are
already
seeing some positive results of Phase I. Two days after the working,
British
Priminister Tony Blair began calling for a sesation of the violence in
the
Middle East. This was quickly echoed by President Bush. A few days
later the
Pope began calling for a world-wide "Prayer for Peace". Bush sent a
stronger
message to Israel and Palestine to cease and desist immedately if not
sooner. Last Monday, Israel began pulling their troops back.

We have made some progress, with Phase I of this effort. A LOT of
progress
actually, but we need to keep the momentum going, we cannot let up now.
So
Phase II is schedualed for Friday April 12th and Phase III is
schedualed for
Friday April 26th. We have also had suggestions to do this same working
at
each Sabbat for the next 2-3 years. The positive response to this has
been
overwhelming, and my thanks to each and everyone who lent their aid and
support in this endeavor. I again include the exercise below. Please
pass it
along to every kindred Spirit you know, as the more who participate in
this
working the more power will be sent forth and the greater the results.

A good visualization tool is to "see" people world-wide laying aside
their
prejudices and the tools of violence, and joining hands in perfect
Harmony
all over the Earth, then visualize the threads of inter-connectedness
connecting everyone together. Picture the Earth as viewed from
outer-space,
then see the threads becomming thicker and thicker as more are added
until
the entire Globe is surrounded by a blue-white light of purity, that
banishes negativity from the Earth. Hold the visualization as long as
you
can, then as you come down allow yourself to see "flashes" of former
enemies
embracing in friendship and co-operation. End the exercise with a
Prayer of
thanks.

Then work within your own sphere to promote love, unity and harmony,
banishing conflict and negativity from your own environment. If we each
do
our part, we can change the destructive & suicidal course humanity has
embarked upon.

Please send this call to action to every kindred spirit in your address
book, spread the word, and we CAN make a difference.

This is part two of the brief basics lesson on use of planetary forces. 
Included are the days of the week, hours of the day, and herbs associated with
the planets.  The point of this is, that during certain hours of certain days,
and using certain herbs together, your magickal will should be more potent than
at other times when the forces are not properly aligned.

For instance, if you are in need of prosperity help, you will want to use herbs
that are associated with this goal--that is but one step in the process.  To
make the power even stronger, you might then do the ritual on Thursday, which is
associated with Jupiter, which in turn, is associated with prosperity. . .then,
for further help, if the ritual is performed on the 1st, 8th, 15th, or 22nd hour
of Thursday, the power will be even more in your favor--as on Thursday, these
hours are associated with Jupiter.  The first hour of each day begins at
midnight, as the early Celts recognized this as the start of the day (and most
of us still do today).  So, you may begin work for this particular goal at just
past midnight on "Wednesday", which is actually the first hour of Thursday; and
so on.

Following are the planetary associations: magickal goals, days of the week, and
herbs special to that day.  Note that there are other herbs associated with the
goals, as well as other tools entirely--I cannot possibly name each association
here--this is just an overview.

As previously noted in pther posts, there are poisonous herbs listed here,
please take the proper precautions and educate yourselves about the ingredients
you choose.  *Never* take anything internallly, or annoint yourself with
ingredients if you are not aware of the full effects of them!

This information is to be used in conjunction with the Planetary Hours Chart
previously sent out, which can be found at :
http://communities.msn.com/SpringofNiksa for quick reference.  The Chart was
part one of this lesson, but some groups are not set up to receive information
in the format in which it is written.



Moon:  Monday.  Goals  Protection from attacks, travel safety, intuitive dreams,
producing rain.  Herbs  hyssop, orris root, poppy seed, purslane, Queen
Elizabeth Root, rosemary, sage, sea spirit.



Mars:  Tuesday.  Goals  Courage, defeating enemies, obtaining military honors. 
Herbs  Nettle, peppers, plantain, sarsaparilla, squill, woodruff, wormwood, all
heal, aloes, basil, betony, broom, corriander, dragon's blood, flax seed,
garlic, gentain, hemlock, hyssop, masterwort, mustard.



Mercury:   Wednesday.  Goals  Divination, procuring the impossible, influencing
rules, gaining knowledge and understanding, opening closed/locked doors.  Herbs 
Caraway, cascara, sagrada, celery, dill, elecampane, fennel, fenugreek,
horehound, lavender, licorice, maiden hair, mandrake, marjoram, southernwood,
valerian.



Jupiter:  Thursday.  Goals  Prosperity, protection against natural disaster,
honor, tranquility of mind, assuring visions.  Herbs  Agrimony, anise seed, ash,
betony, blood root, cinquefoil, clover, dandelion, hyssop, linden mint,
mistletoe, myrrh, nutmeg, sage.



Venus:  Friday.  Goals   Friendships, love, grace, admiration.  Herbs  Angelica,
archangel, burdock, cloves, coltsfoot, couch grass, cowslip, devil's bit, elder,
ferns, marshmallow, mint, pennyroyal, periwinkle, plantain, primrose, Queen of
the Meadow, roses, sea spirit, thyme, verbena, vervain, violets, yarrow.



Saturn:  Saturday.  Goals  Business success, guarding home and/or possessions,
black magick.  Herbs  Aconite, comfrey, elm, flax seed, hellebore, hemlock,
hemp, henbane, knot weed, mandrake, moss, nightshade, plantain, quince, rue,
senna, Solomon's Seal, thyme, vervain, vetivert.



Sun:  Sunday.  Goals  Wealth, release of imprisonment, obtaining desires,
stealth.  Herbs  Angelica, ash tree, bay, centuary, chamomile, frankincense,
hearts ease, loveage, marigold, mistletoe, peony, pimpernel, poppy, rosemary,
rue, saffron, St. John's Wort, tormentilla.

How sweet of you.  I really love the runes, and I love pagans!  Once
I got a set of runes, my whole life changed.  So many things I have

I have a set of Runes and I absolutely love them. Mine are made of Rose
quartz and in painted gold Runic letters on the stones 'over' the
engraved letters.

Runes are not so much of a fortune telling divination are more used for
guidance and information on a specific situation.

Below are two web sites about Runes. There is also a fairly new book out
about Runes called 'A Practical Guide to The Runes; Their Uses in
Divination and Magick by Lisa Peschel. I have this book and it is pretty
informative, I do recommend it for both the beginner and advanced.

does anyone know what oil would be appropriate for use in a truth
spell? i can't seem to find my oil info, and i need this spell

Off the top of my head, I would use extra virgin olive oil mostly because of its
associations with Athena and her penchant for truthfulness and wisdom.

To add to the Olive Oil base, try either Anise or Honeysuckle.
According to my sources, neither actually *say* they're for truth, but they are
both strongly associated with the mind. . .that's as close as I can come. .
.sorry!  I can't say as I've needed anything for this yet.

Any oil you feel comfortable using is what I would recommend. It's
what you put into a spell that will make it work, if you use a blue
candle or a green candle makes no real difference.

What matters is what helps you focus the proper energy for the task
at hand.

Truth Spell

Items you will need:

1 White candle
White flower petals
1 picture, or the persons name on a piece of paper
a Spell box

Spell instructions:

After casting the circle lite the candle and lay the picture { or
persons name on paper } down in front of it. Place the petals in the
spell box and then say these words:

'Silence now thy lieing tongue
Only truth and honesty come
from thy lips and from thy tongue
Til the next Full Moon doth come'

'So mote it be!'

As you say this burn the picture in the candle flame. Once it is turned
to ash, take the Spell box with the White petals and put the ashes in
the Spell box. Keep it until the next Moon then throw its contents into
the winds.

if you are referring to the aphrodite love spell, yes,
it works very well. i cast that spell almost three
years ago. less than 2 days later, the love of my life
stoped me on the street to talk. i later told him that
i had cast the spell...wanting him to stay for his own
reasons, and not by magick. we will be together three
years on august 10th... and still just as much in
love.

APHRODITE LOVE SPELL
   to attract the attention of a perticular gentleman
or lady,
   preform this spellon a friday evening,preferably
when the moon
   is in the astrological sign of taurus:

   on a pink, heart-shaped piece of paper, write the
full name of
   your beloved in red ink. to make the spell more
potent, write
   his or her birthdate or astrological sign under the
name.
   light a stick or cone of jasmine, lemon, myrrh,
orange blossom,
   patchouli, or strawberry incense. place it in a
fireproof
   burner, and say:

                 APHRODITE, APHRODITE,

Earth Day Blessing

Earth Day is dedicated to Mother Earth and an appropriate time for
Wiccans throughout the world to preform Gaia-healing rituals, such as
the one outlined below:

Draw a pentagram symbol on the ground using your athame, ritual sword or
wand. Draw a circle { clockwise } around the pentagram and then place a
new white candle in the center of the star.

Sit before the candle on the ground with your legs crossed 'Indian
style' or in the yoga lotus position. Light the candle and gaze into its
flame, focus your thoughts and energy upon the Earth, her rugged beauty
and natural wonders.

Cupping your hands together, take up some soil and recite the following
magickal verses of blessing:

"Bless the Earth
Bless the Earth
She is our Mother
Fertile and green.

Bless the Earth
Bless the Earth
She is our Healer
She is ur Queen.

Dancing, Dancing
Day and Night
Along her magick Circle bright,
Giving birth to land and sea,
Mother Earth, I honor thee.

She is our teacher
Ancient and wise.
She must be cherished;
Let Her not perish:

Help  I need a blessing oil that can be used for  a full
Moon  ritual on the 26th and can also be used for Beltane too.
/the full moon ritual will be about making a promise to the godess
brigid and taking the godess within us.  It should have lunar
associations as the time for the ritual is 7p.m. and maybe something
for both the ruling planet and element that corresponds to the zodiac
sign?  This is my first time making a oil and I'm afraid the one book
I have is not much help.  Anybody out there good at it?  Also could
you tell me why you use what you suggest so I know the reason for it.

first i memorized 24 definitions, then meditated on the symbols for
the deeper secrets.  Try looking at psychology books dealing with
symbols, like by carl jung
