HUTERM is an informal co-operation forum of Hungarian professionals with linguistic tasks at EU institutions: Council, Commission, Parliament, Central Bank, Court of Auditors, European Court, Committee of the Regions, Economic and Social Committee, SdT, CdT, SCIC and their partners: Hungarian ministries and especially the Ministry of Justice, universities, Hungarian Terminology Council + a number of translation agencies, freelance translators and interpreters based in Hungary.
Our endeavour is to identify EU-related terms and their best translations into Hungarian. By discussing the adequacy and acceptability of new coinages, parallel forms and institution-specific usage in a democratic manner, we provide support and preparatory forum for the ultimate codification of Hungarian EU-terms in IATE.
- Hungarian-speaking translators, terminologists, interpreters and lawyer-linguists;
- Hungarian Members of the European Parliament, their assistants, EU-experts, journalists + all "end users" of Eurospeak
- Practicing experts from all fields of expertise with a sense for languages
- Researchers from the field of Applied and Corpus Linguistics and Language Theory
The forum is strictly moderated. Members are required to introduce themselves.
The linguistic resources the members of the HUTERM Community use in their daily work are published and continuously updated at http://www.huterm.com
