If there is a group going I would be interested. It would be my first
time too.

I think it's going to be just my hubby and me. I'll give a full report
totomorrow if it happens! We think it's best to wait until stores have
closed...

What's it like out there in the diving world? I'm going again tonight I
think. Rumor has it, there's good stuff out there to be find. What have
you guys found?
Just moved over here, school tuition is killing me! Anyone have
suggestions of where to go? Specific days of the month/week that things
are discarded? Anyone wanna join me some night?
Best times to go are the days before heavy trash (check you arrea city
wase oick up for the days - my neighborhood is 3rd Thursday of the
month but each area varies), the 13-15th of the month and the 28-1st
of the month.
People move and are evicted mid month and end of month / beginnning of
month and there are tons of discards to be found in their moving.
Similarly heavy trash days are a good find.
I'm just north of the Heights so if you ever need an evening dumpster
buddy.. I'm in! :0)

Mitakuye Oyasin = We are All Related.
Mitakuye Oyasin honors the sacredness of each person's individual spiritual path, acknowledges the sacredness of all life (human, animal, plant, etc.) and creates an energy of awareness which strengthens not only the person who prays but the entire planet.
"Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances of survival for life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." ~Albert Einstein
"If slaughterhouses had glass
walls, everyone would be a vegetarian."
Used to grab good finds at old apartment dumpster, bookshelves, dresser drawers, etc. I am curious...what is the best time, and where in NW Houston? I thought maybe Fiesta for food...the pan dulce keeps for a long time.
I am in Baytown, I don't know of any good spots yet, But I would love
a Buddy!

Darnit, I'm in NW Houston (249 area). Anybody up in this neck of the
woods? I've never done this before and would like someone to
accompany me as well.

I am new to dumpster diving, and I would like to know some of the best
locations in which to dive. I am centrally located, but willing to
travel. I also heard that many stores in Houston put ammonia in their
dumpsters to deter divers. Does anyone know if this is true?
Thanks all,
Lisa
Hello. I don't know how often this group is moderated (and based on
the intervals between responses, I'm going to say not very often) but
I was wondering if there was anyone available to help me. I'm not so
much a new Freegan but Freegan-curious. I was wondering if there's
anyone in my area (FM 1960 about five miles from 249) that would be
willing to contact me and take me on a few practice dives.
Much appreciated,
Me.
Anyone still active on here. I'm in SW Houston (the not so special part, lol)
and am going to start diving here within the next two weeks. Any
experienced/non-experienced divers looking for a buddy?
Am going out tonight, despite the rain, to check some strip centers, etc.
Suz
My name is Feleshia and I'm new to the group. Im really excited about being a part of this group and doing my first dive. Does anyone know of any good spots in Copperfield or Bear Creek, and if so would you like to go diving with me?
