Dear Bobby
If you believe the city council split the baby I have got a bridge to
sell you. What about the 3 members in the band that was never voted
on? The Obrien's lawyer will appeal the council ruling. He will argue
that Obriens is being discriminated against. The Pier and Christie's
are in the WB zone and have amplified outdoor entertainment up to
11:00 PM.
Once the city council ruling is overturned all the waterholes in the <Waterfront
Business> zone will follow suit. There are 3 bars on Waite's wharf.
My solution is a meaningful noise ordinance which would attack all
sources of noise -- car stereo's, boom boxes, motorcycles, and outside
amplified entertainment. An ordinance is somewhere in city hall that
would give the city a start, but after a year of meeting by the technical
advisory group on noise there work was not approved by the council and is still
in limbo.
This would make the entire town more visitor/resident friendly. I think this
would be a better split of the child.
