What do I like about living on the island:
- Closeness of family and friends
- Sense of community - active community groups
- Friendly/accepting environment
- Parks, trees, children's play areas
- Changing seasons
- Harbor, Bay, beaches and Ocean Drive
- Cultural and historic showcases
- Ethnic and religious diversity
- U.S. Navy
- "Walkability" of city
- Restaurants, hotels, B&Bs and, yes, bars
- Variety of stores and shops full of tempting "stuff"
- Committed public/city employees - keep us functioning and always doing their
best
- Dedicated elected council and committee members - we ask much
- Closeness to Providence, Boston and NYC

I enjoy living in Newport for all of the above reasons, to name a few, and I
like living in a city that people enjoy visiting - Newport.
