Jo Eva Gaines should be congratulated for taking the time to read and
respond to each of the suggestions. This kind of dialogue may be exactly the
kind of approach that concerned citizens can use for both School Committee
and Council budget deliberations. The public meetings don't necessarily
allow for sufficient time to discuss these issues and the "give and take"
that sometimes comes from these discussions. As I have seen from the three
past School Committee meetings the committee members stay long enough as it
is.
