Having problems with message search?
This year's city council vs. school committee "budget tango" is about to move into its public phase with a special joint meeting planned for Tuesday, June 3, 6:30 pm in the council chambers.
As you know from postings to this site, the school committee is faced with difficult choices and has been interested in collecting cost saving ideas from the general public. The 21 ideas and comments collected from KnowingNewport and OurNewportSchool lists have been provided to the school committee and city council. School committee chairman Jo Eva Gaines even responded in writing to these ideas.

It's now time to collect additional ideas that should be considered by both the school committee and city council.
I know that there are more good ideas out there. I would like to publish a few ideas every other day through mid June.
Please send them to me at mcullen19@... (or hit the reply button) and tell me if you want your name associated with each idea. If not, I will post your idea without attribution. If you don't want to use email, mail your ideas to me at 19 Bayside Ave, Newport.
