You kind of have apples and oranges there Fred.

The School employees pay 3% of the current cost of their health insurance
plan into a reserve fund. This is intended to help defray the future cost
of their individual extended benefits plan (extends them from date of
retirement to date of Medicare eligibility at which point a medigap plan
begins) when they retire. There is no current savings for the school system.
The payment is currently $366.48 for family plans and $151.73 for single
plan carriers.

What is proposed for Municipal employees is for a payment of 2% of their
current wage toward their health and dental plans up to 10% of the premium.
i.e. between about $800 and $1300 per year.

Rick (Lombardi), I believe the cap at Brown is $720 for buybacks versus $6,000 to $7,000 (50% of current premium) for a family plan in Newport. If all...

Thanks for the clarification Jim. I believe I heard Superintendent Canole refer to those payments as a co-payment last Tuesday night. Based on studies by the...
