For members/volunteers of the Minnesota Transgender Health Coalition (MTHC), a group of trans people and allies working to improve access to and quality of health care (transition-specific as well as general care) for trans people in Minnesota.
Mission Statement:
"The Minnesota Transgender Health Coalition is committed to improving health care access and the quality of health care received by trans and gender nonconforming people through education, resources, and advocacy."
MTHC is composed entirely of volunteers! We welcome trans community members and allies to join us as volunteers, members, and board members. Time commitments can vary, anywhere from a few hours a year for helping out at events to a few hours each month working on ongoing projects. No matter how much or little time you have, the Health Coalition would love to have you join us in our important work! A few of the many ways you can be involved:
-Help organize and produce the annual Minnesota Trans Health and Wellness Conference, a two-day event with workshops, continuing education opportunities for providers, health screenings, and resource fair
-Become a member of the MTHC training team and help educate health care providers, office staff, and students on how to provide equitable and competent care and services to the trans community
-Work on newsletter and fundraising mailings, compiling materials, and stuffing envelopes
-Help with outreach by staffing information tables at events throughout the year in both the Twin Cities and in Greater Minnesota
-Collaborate on planning future events and programming
