Little Tidbit of info in case you didn't know...for those people with the Play A Sound" Books or noisemaker type books.   They require LR44 batteries.  These are not necessarily easy to find and when I did find them locally by Duracell they were expensive.  I went on a hunt about 6 months ago and wound up ordering them online pretty cheap.  Anyway, Micheal's Craft Store is currently carrying LR 44 batteries for "TeaLites".  These are the same batteries and are only 99cents for 6 of them.  Pretty Good... not sure if it's a seasonal thing or not.  So no excuse to keep that "dead" book laying around... refill the batteries.  Also, go ahead and pick up a dead book from the consignment sale or yard sale...easy to fix.

Thank you to the person who put together my birthday gift for MOPS.
It included a natural muscle rescue bath salt. It worked great and I

Hello moms,

I am not consigning this session at Kid's exchange at the fair grounds
but I know that the sale is this week. I was wondering if anyone had
their second consignor pass that they aren't using and would give to me
for the Thursday sale. It is open to the public on Friday but I have
activities all day that day.

My mother has asked me to pass along this prayer request. Her good
friend - Julika Prifti - lost her son last night. He was working
overseas as an interpretor and was shot and killed. He was only 23
years old and is her only child. She is in complete shock and barely
spoken since getting the news. My mother has asked that you pray for
Julika (pronounced U-leek-a) and her family as they cope with this
tremendous loss.

I also ask that you pray for my mother - Patricia Martini - who is
having a hard time understanding this tradgedy and is questioning why
God would allow this to happen.

Thank you for your support and prayers.

I have a Medela Pump in Style electric double breast pump that I am
looking to sell. It is the one that looks like a black leather
messenger bag. It has a cooler compartment to store your bottles on
the go and comes with cold packs. The pump is in excellent condition
and I have all the pieces to it. It was barely used. (I stayed at
home, so not much need to pump.) I am asking $75. Please let me know
if you are interested or have any questions.

I'd like to ask for prayer for our pastor, Donald Pope (from Emmanuel

If anyone knows the family, the visitation is from 7-9 Friday night at
the Apex Funeral Home and the funeral is Saturday at 2 pm at Apex

Thanks very much.

We get Omaha steaks often as gifts.  They are really good.
We order our steaks from a local guy, though.  He sells Allen Bros. steaks and they are awesome!  So, to send as gifts and receive as gifts I would say Omaha are good and reasonably priced.  But, the Allen Bros. steaks are better.  I can get you his number if you want to try him.  Or try Horizon Foods - they might sell Allen Bros.

It is worth buying the Feb. issue of Consumer Reports to get all the details.  The federal standards for safety seats are fairly lax, and there have been some problems with the LATCH system, which was supposed to improve car-seat safety.  We should all read up and write our Congressional representatives.

Hi ladies.  I would like to ask for your prayers for my family over the next couple of months.  My husband (Chad) has a herniated disc and is having back surgery on Wednesday morning.  He will be laid out flat on his back for at least 3 weeks and have a recovery period of about 3 months.  Please pray for the actual surgery and for the surgeons during that time.

Also, to make the story even more interesting, I am 34 weeks pregnant and due on February 20th with our second baby.  We are both very anxious about how I am going to manage Kate (our 2 year old), taking care of Chad as he recovers, and being pregnant with the baby coming very soon.  Please just pray for peace for me and for the ability to take care of my family!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.  I probably won't be at MOPS for at least the next couple of weeks, but hopefully will make it back before the baby is born!  It is so wonderful to know that we have such a large support group and so many people praying for us!  Thanks again!

I purchased something with my first and then again with my second that is the best buy I ever made for my kids.  It's called Mighty Tite and you put it on the seat belt.  Then you crank it until the carseat literally will not move at all.  I have the latch in my car and have not even had to use it because of this little tool.   I purchased it at USA Baby which is now in Crossroads Shopping Center by Best Buy.    I use this in addition to the 5 point harness of course.

My friend was over at the Bed, Bath & Beyond store and saw a woman using two coupons... so if you have more than and you have more coupons you can go ahead and use them at the same time (this was also verified by another cashier).  We didn't know that.  AND, they take expired coupons.

BTW,  BJ's has in store coupons for $2 off the Luv's wipes and $5 off Luv's Diapers.

Hi all,
Two things I wanted to pass along.  While Holly Springs remains one of the safest places to live a few stories have come my way today that I wanted to share.

1.  There was a break-in in our neighborhood (Sunset Ridge) Tuesday night.  They were not caught - the alarm scared them off but they did grab the owners wallet.  They tried first to get in through a window, but it was locked and gained access by a side door to the house.

2. There are rumors of a possible child abduction but there are no formal police reports on this.  A neighbor has contacted the detective on the case who confirmed it but did not disclose details.  I wanted to pass it along anyway.    Better safe than sorry...

The following is the email I received:

I spoke to a close friend last night that told me some alarming news.  My friend's goddaughter was " abducted" Saturday night from her family's car.  The little girl is 5 years old and lives in a neighborhood behind Womble Park.  About 7:00 Saturday night, the parents had left their daughter in the car for a short while they  ran into the house to pick up a couple of things before the family headed out again.  While her parents were in the house the little girl was taken out of her seat by a man wearing a blue sweater, dark pants, beard and a scarf on his head.  The man took her to Womble Park and sat her on a bench near the concession stand.  The family and neighbors looked for the girl for about 30 minutes before the little girl came running toward them to from Womble Park.  The little girl told everyone including the cops about the man taking her out of her car and gave a description.

There have been other reports about a black man wearing and a blue sweater, dark pants and ( do rag / scarf ), with a beard driving a white van in Valley Field ( HS neighborhood) as well.  The man driving the van is said to be trying to lure little girls to the van.  The description of both individuals is the same so please be careful.

Hey Janel,

Some scary things happening in our neighborhood! I actually know Ka'lynn Ravel very well, she also sent an email telling me about her break-in. I did not know about the abduction, though!! Thanks for the heads up!  Can I stay on the MOPS email distribution? Your emails include great info that I would like to keep receiving from MOPS :-)

I hope all is well with you! I am meeting with Mary Zimmerman tomorrow for lunch. We have stayed in touch with each other, as my family is a pen-pal with her son Kevin stationed in Iraq. She is a real neat lady! My experiences with MOPS was great! I have walked away feeling grateful and blessed to have had the opportunity to meet the moms in this wonderful group. And, you are one of them!!!!

Hope to see you soon!

I tried to post the response from the Holly springs Police Department, but it would not post the attachement.  They are investigating it but are not calling it a child abduction.    I will try to post it again, but if you want to see it let me know and I can email it to you directly.
