Hello everyone!
I have only recently revived my interest in building model ship's
and just started on my 1/100 Heller kit of the HMS VICTORY, what a
great kit!! When I went to Portsmouth with the Navy for the 50th
anniversary of D-day I went on the Victory and was absolutely blown
away...what can you say about a ship like this?
Just painting it is a real joy so far, wish I could say the same
for removing flash from the 102 cannons...but nothing worthwhile is
easy is it?
I am also reviving my pre-navy interest in airbrush painting (boy
does that help with the ship). I'm not sure if I can say there is
anything about the kit that I don't look forward to...being navy and
tying knots is okay with me!
If I were to say I had questions about anything so far I guess it
would be these,
1) Where is a good place to find plans and advice, a kit or a premade
case for something as big as this? (40" with bowsprit I think).
2) Does anyone know where to get a nice and VERY detailed 1/100 kit
of the USS Constitution?
3) Does anyone have any large ships that are mostly built or fully
built that need a new home where they will be loved and appreciated
despite their size? (I have a nice retirement home on the lake in
Indiana where my all-Navy family lives around us)!
Well, thanks for the ability to learn adn observe, I'll dig
around in the site now and see if I've asked questions that were
already answered (HA!)
