If your local library can help, check out a copy of
Howard I Chapelle's The American Fishing Schooner .
It covers the history and evolution of these fishing
schooners - and there is a huge ammount of detailed
sketches showing general practrice on fittings,
rigging, and general arrangement.
I would find it invaluable here.  Its on my shelf of
how-to references.

its a fine companion to a project like the Bluenose.

I would check Abebooks.com or Biblio.com for  used
copies.
