in my 65 years i've built a few too. only one plane but a lot of scratch built RR and then boats. back then it was either to much money or they didn't have what i wanted. so i built my own. some times with out plans.
but now i have found that a challenge comes from ships in bottles and i relax but RCing plastic models with out the pricier RC gear.
the Crockett was not bad but it leaves a lot to be desired.
i built a 65" skipjack. from plans and lumber from the lumber yard. she sail great. so thats that. enjoy the new sight.
