By the way, Gold Medal Models has a set of carrier decals specific to different time frames and hulls. Very detailed, and differing island images depending on the year you want to represent. You might want to take a look and see how they compare to decals in the kit. Jesse

Which version of Enterprise did you decide to build. I was aboard the Enterprise from 1974 to 1977 and have two ships cruise books. Do you or would you be interested in some pictures from them?? Max

As this will be my first post on the building on the Tamiya Enterprise kit I'll start with the basics I will use. Along with the kit I have purchased PE from White Ensign models and Tom's Model Works. I also picked up cast anchors from Yankee Modelworks and aircraft sets from both Tamiya and Trumpeter. On order (pick up Monday) is sheet plastic to build the hanger deck. To the best of my knowledge I have everything I will need or use for this build without the electrical parts. I intend on doing a lot of lighting, I will wait at least untill I need to work on the hangar deck lights before I decide what I will need to do the lighting. I sure hope I have the skill to use it all! LOL
I don't intend to drop everything and work on this project only, I believe it will be so involved that trying to do that would only lead to me getting burnt out on it and not finishing it. But I do intend
on spending at the very least an hour a day working on it. I've been through huge projects on this order before (used to be heavy into scale r/c ships) and that seems to work out best for me. So updates may not be real steady, I will try to wait untill there is some real progress to show rather than waste your time with nit picking details.
PLEASE at any time if anyone has any advice good OR bad ... let me know! I'm always open to suggestions and always looking for better ways to do things.
Thanks for your time. I hope you will enjoy watching the project take shape as much as I hope I enjoy building one of the worlds finish carriers!!!! !!!!
