Washington Heights and Inwood Tweens is a local yahoo group for families caring for and parenting tweens and teens. Generally our children's age would be 8 and up (yeah, tween seems to start about 8).

This yahoo group is for everyone to get, give and share information about, for and connected to our kids, our neighborhood, our families and our community. It is a place for giving and receiving support from and for each other. General information, other websites and global matters are often posted as well.

This is not a message board to air and argue issues, throw out personal attacks or debate. Anything that does not fulfill the above criteria can be pursued privately (email phone call, cup of chamomile tea...). The group is restricted and the posts reflect the opinions of individual parents who join the group. It is up to the moderator to ban those that do not adhere to the above purpose of the board.

Parenting_whit represents a diverse population of families in the Washington Heights and Inwood areas and I hope it continues to reflect this growing population by respecting and embracing all differences. My goal is to bridge families, provide information and support and create community, for each other and our growing kids.
