Peer Education Nigeria is a group that brings together young Nigerian graduates committed to fighting the HIV & AIDS battle through Peer Education approach in secondary schools and their host communities.
The group mainly comprise of Corps Members who volunteered under the UNICEF/NYSC HIV & AIDS Prevention Project during their one year national service. Members of the group are simply called PETs (Peer Education Trainers). Other members of the group also include the Ex-PETs and all the trainers on the project.
The primary aim of the group is to allow members to interact and share information; to discuss best practices and challenges on the field; to up-date each others knowledge on HIV & AIDS issues; to share suggestions on the way forward among other things. The group also enables the Master Trainers to mentor the PETs, and the project management team to capture and document the various progress made by PETs on the field.
