Platrix #2, E Clampus Vitus, Queen of the Cow Counties, founded in 1933 and serving Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura Counties.

Dr. Carl Wheat enlisted the help of two Clampatriarchs: Gregg Layne, editor of the Southern California Historical Quarterly and descendant of Josiah Gregg, author of "Commerce of the Prairies," and Roger Dalton, whose ancestor Henry (Enrique) Dalton had acquired the Rancho Azusa in 1854 and married Maria Guadalupe Zamorano. Premliminary meetings were held in the Zamorano Room of the University Club. Here, the policies and purposes of Platrix No. 2 of E Clampus Vitus were formulated. Gregg Layne and Roger Dalton were appointed the first Humbug and Master of Rituals respectively. The first Platrix outdoor meeting was held in the spring of 1934 at the Azusa Rancho and the ringing of the Azusa Ranch bell by Roger Dalton called the meeting to order. Gregg Layne presided over the assembled Bretheren and Platrix Chapter's first commemorative plaque was installed to recall the "Forgotten Miners of San Gabriel Canyon" who had produced over $2 million in gold in 1854.
