I have'nt built one in a while. I got leary of them blowing up on me
all the time...... Nothing less than a little pure oxygen and
propane was good enough for me. I was hooked on the HUGE flame and
the "rifle like" boom that propane could produce.
And I've built them all....handgun sized, super sized 12' long, and
everything in between. I had one with a 1/2" barrel for bing
cherries.....those little suckers hurt!!
I was going to build one out of metal, but i could'nt find anyone to
weld it for me once they found out what it was that i was
building......hehehe....oh well......

This is a specialized Air Cannon group, please keep all that porn and
dating crap out of the group as it has nothing to do with air
cannons. The moderator of the group should ban this member.

Just took our monster air cannon out for a test drive last week and
talk about impressive. Busted a hole right through our shop wall,
needless to say my buddies wife wasn't too happy about that. We
build Full Size reproduction civil war cannons, except this time we
outfitted this beast to shoot tennis balls at high velocities. Our
end results will be to launch t-shirts out of the barrel at the
college civil war games. I will upload some avi and pics when we
take her out for our distance and velocity test this month. You can
see what we build at www.VicksburgCannons.com Just imagine one of
these babies taking aim with a tennis ball.
Done..., I know I hardly come on here, but I try to do the most to
keep the people that do come here happy

i bout a rain bird valve 1ich straet tipe but it did not wory leat
air out slow tryed new batres/3 9 volts the valve wus good but i
could not get to work weth air(70psi)but weth woter it did fine
why? paintballer53/cannon fanatick!!!!!!!!!!
ok, an in-line 1inch sprinkler valve, to get better performance loose
the electronics and convert it to Pneumatic, simply drilling the top
and tapping it for a blowgun or small ball valve will really
increases the performance for the valve, here is some instructions:
what you will need, A clean work area, JB weld, A Tap for 1/4" NPT, a
drill, and a screw driver, and a 1/2" drill bit,
1. Unscrew the solenoid (black thing with wires) and put it aside or
in a box,
2. Unscrew all the screws in the top of your valve and remove the
lid, but be carful not to lose the spring inside
3. In the center on top of the lid drill a 1/2" hole
4. Tap the hole for 1/4" NPT (I used a 1/2-13 NC 27/64 tap)
5. the part where the solenoid was screwed into is now going to be
filled with JB-weld (about $5) after you have that all filled let it
dry
6. reassemble the valve (MAKE SURE TO PUT THE SPRING BACK IN)
7. using a barbed fitting for an airhose, or just a threaded fitting
screw that into the tapped hole ontop of the valve (use a small
amount
of JB-Weld) for the air hose attach it to a blowgun or using a
threaded fitting just attach the blowgun or small ball valve to that,
8. after everything is dry your valve is now ready for action, test
it at 50psi a couple times, listen for leaks, if everything is ok go
for the big 100psi.
if you need more info here is a site with pictures and instructions

Well I am a new member to this Spud gun group, and just wanted to say hey to
everyone. I have personally built 3 pneumatic
cannons, and I think they are great. I've built a regular pneumatic potato
launcher, a double barrel launcher with solenoid valves (using
some check valves, I only have to pump one valve up), and a bolt-action grape
gun which is a pretty tight design I think. Hopefully I
can get around to uploading some of this stuff, but I'm pretty new to this
format, so whatever. Oh yeah I am planning on building
another gun with a piston type valve on it (like where the solenoid valve
actuates a piston to make air come out of the main chamber).
If anyone has built one of these guns please let me know, I'd like to know your
thoughts on it.

or100mm(softball size) or 60mm (baseball size)I'm a quick study and
have the needed cash, interested in waterballoon delivery, paintball
technology, and other forms of good clean fun!

travel for demo.
thanks again,

Hey I sent you an e-mail with some info to help you out, I put "Joel

Me and a couple of friends just built some potatoe cannons and we
found that limes are much better than spuds. They flew
significantly farther, and cost about the same. If the lime is a
little too big for the barrel we would just roll it under our foot
until it was softened some. Then we would use some soap to lube the
barrel slightly. I think though when limes go out of season they
will probably cost alot more but it is definately worth trying...
Cal
We do that with potatoes but have found that limes are best left
uncut.

Take a look at our new online store and browse through our several
electric spark ignition, combustion potato guns. We also supply
reusable potato gun ammunition, our very own Spud Bombs. Take a
look around, and contact us with any questions you have.

I have built my second Full Scale Civil War Air Cannon. This guy
has so much power, it is impressive. It was made to launch tennis
balls or rolled t-shirts. You can see some of our cannons at
www.VicksburgCannons.com the air cannon is exactly the same as
cannons pictured but with an air nipple for pressurizing. Anyone
interested in a full scale barrel, let me know I will sell my first
2. Starting my 3rd tomorrow. Just send me an email. Carriages are
seperate.
Cool group! I'm very happy to join in the fun. I'm a machinist and
tinkerer and have alot of gun experience and have always wanted to join
in learning more about this "sport" ever since a friend of mine fired a
potatoe across the ramp over a runway to another hanger many yards
away. In fact alot of people are using home made cannons to scare off
birds [which are pests to pilots wanting to fly safely] from the ends
of runways now.
