We have access to an Excel spreadsheet to be used for the design of RC
sailplanes, both tailed and tailless, and need a knowledgeable individual to
review it for RCSD.

There are two points which may affect a decision:

(1) The spreadsheet is written in Microsoft Excel and uses Visual Basic macros.
These macros will not be usable within the spreadsheet if you open it using the
Macintosh OS.

(2) Additionally, the accompanying manual is written in French and no English
version is currently available.

So, if you are fluent in French, running a current version of Excel within the
Windows OS, and able to submit a comprehensive review of the material within a
reasonable time (30-60 days), we would very much appreciate hearing from you.

Adobe says that it has received reports of attacks targeting a
previously unknown flaw in both Adobe Reader and Acrobat. When
exploited, the flaw allows an attacker to remotely execute code on a
targeted system.

Users are being urged to use caution when handling PDF files.

Researchers at both Shadowserver and the US Computer Emergency
Response Team recommend that users disable the ability for documents
to execute java script code in both Acrobat and Reader through the
application's preference panel.

Although RC Soaring Digest does not knowingly utilize java script
within any of the PDF versions we publish, we urge readers to follow
the above advice.
