HI, Lightning Raven!!!!
It is so good to hear from you. I made it to the Idaho Gathering and
have been traveling on the road since then. Right now I am at the
Shawnee Gathering. There is a lot of talk about not announcing the
Gatherings via the net. A Camp got wiped out by Malcolm Jowers (yep,
the same dude that was in charge of Waco is now in charge of the
Incident Management Team (fka-Rainbow Task Force) It is my
understanding that he was going to get a Federal Warrant to arrest
everybody at the Gathering if a permit was not signed. The permit
was signed Monday. My daughter is also at the Gathering. I have
plans to continue traveling, so my visits to cyberland will be
infrequent. As such if anyone wants to take over this e-group, let
me know and I will see what I can do.
Brightest Rainbows to all of you.
StarLady
P.S. I am visiting St. Louis today and plan to be at the drum circle
at Mokabes/TowerGrove Park (Grand and Arsenal)

Hello, is this the FBI?"
   "Yes. What do you want?"
"I'm calling to report about my neighbor Billy Bob Smith!
He is hiding marijuana inside his firewood."
"Thank you very much for the call, sir."
The next day, the FBI agents descend on Billy Bob's house. They
search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes, they bust
open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana. They swore at
Billy Bob and left. The phone rings at Billy Bob's house. "Hey,
Billy Bob! Did the FBI come?" "Yeah!" "Did they chop your
firewood?" "Yep." "Happy Birthday, Buddy"

I heard that there will be a gathering in Wisconsin in Jan. and then
one in Florida in Feb. I am hoping to go to the one in Florida. This
information can be confirmed or denied by going to many of the
Rainbow Family Websites.

http://www.welcomehome.org is a good place to get started.

Shockingly speaking, during the Shawnee Regional I found out that a
lot of folks found out about the Gathering via the Illnois Forest
Service Website. However it is my understanding that the same
website gave misinformation concerning the dates of the gathering.
Those of you who know the URL could check out this Rainbow rumor.
Does anybody have printed off the internet flyers stating the dates
for the Gathering were from Sept 28 to OCT ??? (supposedly that was
the info from the Illnois Forest Service Website.) The actual dates
were actually Oct 1-14 followed up by cleanup-KSK is still there. If
anyone is able, please go and help with cleanup-You will be richly
rewarded.

Chicken Chants in Chickeneep are especially important to develop your

his HUMBLE SERVANTS who devotedly CHANT 5 or more times each day.

GREAT CHICKEN MEDITATION
Watch page for enlightenment

You are being Brainwashed.

You do not know you are being brainwashed..

You WILL worship the GREAT CHICKEN.

Resisitence is Futile.

There is no writing on this page, only a dancing chicken. Any writing
you may see is just a figment of your imagination.

Unleash Your Inner Chicken
Don't be ashamed to BOK in public.

Reach back into your memories and remember the time when you learned
that it was not okay to be a real chicken. You learned to be
the "false" chicken that others wanted you to be. Only a few of us,
have never had to be a "false" chicken.

Only a few of us have been strong enough to stay in touch with our
Inner Chicken. For those of you, who still deperately need to get in
touch with your Inner Chicken, GREAT CHICKEN offers the following
words of advice:

"When you are out, try to think of things you would really enjoy
doing, instead of those things that others have told you to do. You
feel like Bokking the words to a song? Then BOK! You feel like
scratching at the ground? Then do it! You want to go sit on some hay?
Then sit on some hay!"

Remember, fellow Servants, being in touch with your Inner Chicken, is
perhaps, one of the GREATEST things you can do for yourself. So cluck
up some courage and think about what the REAL CHICKEN in you wants to
do. Go on and BOK.

We accept no responsibility for any persons who are
institutionalized, arrested, ridiculed, or otherwise harrassed for
their behavior after unleashing their Inner Chicken.

(I honestly did NOT write this! Rather, I got this in my Email...)

In the light,

You know how we are always talking about taking care of Mother Earth?
Well here is a good opportunity to put our words into action!!!!!

http://www.npld.com/

The National Environmental Education & Training Foundation

What is National Public Lands Day?
National Public Lands Day is an event that occurs once a year when
volunteers come together to improve the country's largest natural
resource - our public lands. These volunteers gather on a Saturday
every September to help improve the public lands they use for
recreation, education, and enjoyment. Last year National Public Lands
Day was held on September 23, 2000. It proved to be a day of shared
stewardship among volunteers across the country.
Nearly 45,000 volunteers helped improve public lands in 277 sites
across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. It
is estimated that hard-working efforts combined with community
contributions of food, tools, and equipment resulted in over $6.5
million of improvements and developments to public lands. Although
volunteers range from Girl Scouts and senior citizens to Toyota
executives and Members of Congress, they all have one thing in
common - the enjoyment of public lands for outdoor recreation.
National Public Lands Day is a unique public-private partnership
involving many federal, state, and local land agencies. These
agencies work closely with business partners such as Toyota, Outdoor
Life Network, and numerous non-profit organizations. The National
Environmental Education & Training Foundation manages, coordinates,
and generates financial support for the program.

Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Birthday, Congradulations and all that good
jazz. ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!!!!
I am planning to catch the Greyhound bus NLT NOV 1,2001. If I have
to catch it later, the price goes up by five dollars and there is not
enough time to do the seven day advance. I confirmed today that some
of the tea time folks will be in KY until Nov 7,2001. I may stay
there and work at the cafe where they are hanging out or go to
Wisconsin. I would like to be in KY around Thanksgiving and then hop
over to TN to celebrate with my mom and whoever else will be at the
party. WOW!!! Could I even dare hope to celebrate Thanksgiving
twice!!!

JFK researcher Robert Morningstar believes there may
be some linkage between a Czech Templar Lodge which
just attacked me, and Al-Qaida...see:

For an account of more cordial relations between me
and the Czechs, go to the British T. Casey Brennan fan

...and click on the "Re: Smoking" link, which is a
transcript of an article about me from a magazine in
Communist Prague...

It seems like only yesterday the Czechs were cheering
me. Now they're denouncing me, and according to
Morningstar, have teemed up with Al-Quaida to do it!

Animal Rights Quotes

Best viewed with MicroSoft Internet Explorer

If you have any contributions please send to Steve:

shm@...

Paul Harvey: "Ever occur to you why some of us can be this much concerned with animals suffering? Because government is not. Why not? Animals don't vote."

Many great men and women have spoken out for animals:

Albert Einstein (Nobel Prize, 1921)

  • It is my view that the vegetarian manner of living, by its purely physical effect on the human termperament, would most beneficially influence the lot of mankind.
  • Our task must be to free ourselves...by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beaty. Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. It is my view that the vegetarian manner of living, by its purely physical effect on the human termperament, would most beneficially influence the lot of mankind.

    Albert Schweitzer (Nobel Peace Prize)

  • The human spirit is not dead. It lives on in secret... It has come to believe that compassion, in which all ethics must take root, can only attain its full breadth and depth if it embraces all living creatures and does not limit itself to mankind. (from his Nobel Prize Address "The Problem of Peace in the World Today")
  • Our civilzation lacks human feeling. We are humans who are insufficiently humane! We must realize that and seek to find a new spirit. We have lost sight of this ideal because we are solely occupied with thoughts of men instead of remembering that our goodness and compassion should extend to all creatures. Religion and philosophy have not insisted as much as they should on the fact that our kindness should include all living creatures.
  • Very little of the great cruelty shown by men can really be attributed to cruel instinct. Most of it comes from thoughtlessness or inherited habit. The roots of crelty, therefore, are not so much strong as widespread. But the time must come when inhumanity protected by custom and thoughtlessness will succumb before humanity championed by thought. Let us work that this time may come.
  • The quite conscience is an invention of the devil. Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.
  • It is man's sympathy with all creatures that first makes him truly a man. Until he extends his circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.

    George Bernard Shaw

  • The worst sin towards our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them. That's the essence of inhumanity.
  • Custom will reconcile people to any atrocity; and fashion will drive them to acquire any custom.
  • When a man wants to murder a tiger, it's called sport; when the tiger wants to murder him, it's called ferocity.
  • While we ourselves are the living graves of murdered beasts, how can we expect any ideal conditions on this earth?
  • Animals are my friends...and I don't eat my friends.

    Romain Rolland (Nobel Prize, 1915)

To a man whose mind is free there is something even more intolerable in the sufferings of animals than in the suffereings of man. For with the latter it is at least admitted that suffering is evil and that the man who causes it is a criminal. But thousands of animals are uselessly butchered every day without a shadow of remorse. If any man were to refer to it, he would be thought ridiculous. And THAT is the unpardonable crime.

    Rabindranath Tagore (Nobel Prize, 1913)

We manage to swallow flesh only because we do not think of the cruel and sinful thing that we do.
...cruelty... is a fundamental sin, and admits of no arguments or nice distinctions. If only we do not allow our heart to grow callous, it protests against cruelty, is always clearly heard; and yet we go on perpetrating cruelties easily, merrily, all of us - in fact, anyone who does not join in is dubbed a crank.

    Count Leo Tolstoy

'Thou shalt not kill' does not apply to murder of one's own kind only, but to all living beings; and this Commandment was inscribed in the human breast long before it was proclaimed from Sinai.

    Jeremy Bentham (19th century philosopher)

The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? But rather, Can they suffer?

Schopenhauer (The Basis of Moral Duty)

The assumption that animals are without rights and the illusion that our treatment of them has no moral significance is a positively outrageous example of Western crudity and barbarity. Universal compassion is the only guarantee of morality.

    Gandhi

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.

    Alice Walker (The Color Purple)

The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for white, or women created for men.

    John Locke (1632 - 1704)

This tendency [to cruelty] should be watched in them [children], and if they incline to any such cruelty, they should be taught the contrary usage. For the custom of tormenting and killing other animals will, by degrees, harden their hearts even towards men... And they, who delight in the suffering and destruction of inferior creatures, will not be apt to be very compassionate or benign to those of their own kind. Children should from the beginning be brought up in an abhorrence of killing or tormenting living beings... And indeed, I think people from their cradles should be tender to all sensible creatures... All the entertainment and talk of History is of nothing but fighting and killing; and the honour and renown that is bestowed on conquerors, who, for the most part, are but the great butchers of mankind, further mislead youth.

    Pete Singer (Australian Philosopher)

  • All the arguments to prove man's superiority cannot shatter this hard fact: in suffering the animals are our equals.
  • Other creatures on our planet also have interests. We have always assumed that we are justified in overriding their interests, but this bald assumption is simply species-selfishness. If we assert that to have rights one must be a member of the human race, and that is all there is to it, then what are we to say to the racist who contends that to have rights you have to be a member of the Caucasian race, and that is all there is to it?
  • In an earlier stage of our development most human groups held to a tribal ethic. Members of the tribe were protected, but people of other tribes could be robbed or killed as one pleased. Gradually the circle of protection expanded, but as recently as 150 years ago we did not include blacks. So African human beings could be captured, shipped to America and sold. In Australia white settlers regarded Aborigines as a pest and hunted them down, much as kangaroos are hunted down today. Just as we have progressed beyond the blatantly racist ethic of the era of slavery and colonialism, so we must now progress beyond the speciesist ethic of the era of factory farming, of the use of animals as mere research tools, of whaling, seal hunting, kangaroo slaughter and the destruction of wilderness. We must take the final step in expanding the circle of ethics.

    T. Casey Brennan

Poor animals! How jealously they guard their pathetic bodies...that which to us is merely an evening's meal, but to them is life itself.

    Anne Morrow Linberg

Suffering...no matter how multiplied...is always individual.

    Cloris Leachman

As soon as I realized that I didn't need meat to survive or to be in good health, I began to see how forlorn it all is. If only we had a different mentality about the drama of the cowboy and the range and all the rest of it. It's a very romantic notion, an entrenched part of American culture, but I've seen, for example, pigs waiting to be slaughtered, and their hysteria and panic was something I shall never forget...

    Leonardo Da Vinci

Truely man is the king of beasts, for his brutality exceeds theirs. We live by the death of others: We are burial places! I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.

    Abraham Lincoln

  • I care not much for a mans religion whose dog and cat are not the better for it.
  • I am in favour of animal rights as well as human rights. That is the way of a whole human being.

    Charles Darwin

There is no fundamental difference between man and the higher mammals in their mental faculties. . . The difference in mind between man and the higher animals, great as it is, certainly is one of degree and not of kind. The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man. We have seen that the senses and intuitions, the various emotions and faculties, such as love, memory, attention and curiosity, imitation, reason, etc., of which man boasts, may be found in an incipient, or even sometimes a well-developed condition, in the lower animals.

    Ashley Montagu

  • The indifference, callousness and contempt that so many people exhibit toward animals is evil first because it results in great suffering in animals, and second because it results in an incalculably great impoverishment of the human spirit.
  • All education should be directed toward the refinement of the individual's sensibilities in relation not only to one's fellow humans everywhere, but to all things whatsoever. In the societies of the Western world compassionate intelligence is encouraged in girls - in boys it is tabu. The tabu on tenderness in which boys are conditioned, the emphasis on "manliness", "machoism", plays havoc with the male's capacity for compassionate intelligence. Tenderness is considered to be femine, and that is sufficient to remove it from the repertoire of masculine behavior. Indeed, things have reached such a pass in the Western world that many men seem to have lost all understanding of its meaning. The masculine world would substitute for it the idea of "justice". The dificulty with that is that there is not much compassion in their justice, and justice without compassion is not justice at all...

    Thomas A. Edison

Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.

    Jimmy Stewart

Animals give me more pleasure through the viewfinder of a camera than they ever did in the crosshairs of a gunsight. And after I've finished "shooting", my unharmed victims are still around for others to enjoy. I have developed a deep respect for animals. I consider them fellow living creatures with certain rights that should not be violated any more than those of humans.

    Marcus Aurelius (Antoninus), 121 - 180 AD

One man is proud when he has cought a poor hare and another when he has taken a little fish in a net, and another when he has taken wild boars, and another when he has taken bears... Are not these robbers?

    Henry David Thoreau

The squirrel that you kill in jest, dies in earnest.

    Voltaire (1694 - 1778)

Peoople must have renounced, it seems to me, all natural intelligence to dare to advance that animals are but animated machines... It appears to me, besides, that [such people] can never have observed with attention the character of animals, not to have distinguished among them the different voices of need, of suffering, of joy, of pain, of love, of anger, and of all their affections. It would be very strange that they should express so well what they could not feel... (from "Trate sur la tolerance")

    Mark Twain

  • It is just like mans vanity and impertinence to call an animal dumb because it is dumb to his dull perceptions.
  • Heaven is by favor; if it were by merit your dog would go in and you would stay out.
  • Of all the creatures ever made he (man) is the most detestable. Of the entire brood, he is the only one...that possesses mallice. He is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain.
  • The fact that man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to the other creatures; but the fact that he can do wrong proves his moral inferiority to any creature that cannot.

    Henry Beston

The animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren; they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth.

Isaac Bashevis Singer (Nobel Prize in Literature)

As often as Herman had witnessed the slaughter of animals and fish, he always had the same thought: in their behaviour toward creatures, all men were Nazis. The smugness with which man could do with other species as he pleased exemplified the most extreme racist theories, the principle that might is right

    New Testament: Romans 14:19-21

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God (*) . All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

(*)Related notes ("destroy not the work of God"):

    Destruction of plant species

According to the General Accounting Office of the United States more plant species in the US have been eliminated or threatened by livestock grazing than by any other cause. (Reported by George Wuerthner, "The Price is Wrong," Sierra, September/October 1990, 40-41.)

    Destruction of forests

According to an article in New Yorker Magazine (January 14, 1985), cattle ranching is a primary cause of deforestation in Latin America. Since 1960, more than one quarter of all Central American forests have been razed to make pasture for cattle. Nearly 70 percent of deforested land in Panama and Costa Rica is now pasture.

    Killing of wildlife

Under pressure from ranchers, the U.S. government exterminates tens of thousands of predator and "nuisance" animals each year. In 1989, a partial list of animals killed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal Damage Control Program includes:
    • 86,502 coyotes
    • 7,158 foxes
    • 236 black bears
    • 1,220 bobcats
    • 80 wolves
    Here's a partial list for 1988:
    • 4.6 million birds
    • 9,000 beavers
    • 76,000 coyotes
    • 5,000 racoons
    • 300 black bears
    • 200 mountain lions
    Accidental deaths included:
    • 400 pet dogs
    • 100 cats
    Extermination methods include:
    • poisoning
    • shooting
    • gassing
    • burning animals in their dens
Keith Schneider, "Mediating the Federal War of the Jungle," New York Times, July 9, 1991, 4E: Carol Grunewald, ed, Animal Activist Alert, 8:3 (Washington D.C.:Human Society of the United States, 1990)

    Pollution of our rivers

Organic waste from cattle and other livestock, pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and agricultural salts and sediments are the primary non-point sources of water pollution in the U.S. (David Pimentel and Carl W. Hall, Food and Natural Resources (San Diego Academic Press, 1989), 41.

The average feedlot steer produces more than 47 pounds of manure every twenty-four hours. All in all, the steer population produces 10 times more excrement than the human population, and steer cannot afford plumbing!

    Our Deepest Fear
    is
    NOT
    that we are
    inadequate.
    Our deepest fear
    is that we are powerful
    beyond measure.

It is our LIGHT, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

    We ask ourselves,

    WHO AM I
    to be
    BRILLIANT
    GORGEOUS
    TALENTED
    and FABULOUS?

    Actually,
who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

    There's nothing ENLIGHTENED about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are ALL meant to SHINE, as children do.
We were born to Make Manifest the glory of God that is WITHIN us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in EVERYONE.
And as we let our OWn Light Shine,
    we unconsciously give other people
    permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
    our presence automatically liberates others.
    Marianne Williamson

" Our barriers to love are rarely consciously chosen. They are our efforts to protect the places where the heart is bruised. Somewhere, sometime, we felt as though an open heart caused us pain or humiliation.
We loved with the openness of a child, and someone didn¹t care, or laughed, or even punished us for the effort. In a quick moment, perhaps a fraction of a second, we made a decision to protect ourselves from ever feeling that pain again. We would never again allow ourselves to be so vulnerable. We built emotional defenses. We tried to build a fortress across our heart, to protect us from any cold assault.
The only problem is, according to the Course in Miracles, we create that which we defend against. "

    "Lovers"

A full day is over for two who have given,

Their full share of energy to pursuits never ended.

They slip into bed, for a time nightly spared,

The overflowing love which will rightly be shared.

This is the time, no words need be spoken.

Slowly they reach so that neither be shaken.

Both warm and naked, they move toward the center,

For the love and the touch, the nerves that awaken.

Kisses so soft, breath to the touch,

A familiar feeling, with many smiles and such.

Entangled they are, celebrating their gifts,

Growing in passion, in hearts and on lips.

They laugh in their joy, this girl and this boy,

Each is so willing, to be their mate's toy,

She feels the caress, of strong gentle hands,

That have worked so hard, to see through their plans.

Searching and spying, for just the right spot,

For tonight will be special, their bed is so hot.

She sighs from tickled thighs - precious dew,

From the depth of her womanhood, the great I love you.

Flowing out from within her soaring sweet core,

Rose peddles blooming no words could say more.

Overcome by the beauty she offers so free,

He reaches full stature, she'll give what he needs.

Tumbling all over, in the eternal night's capture,

His arms pull her closer, her flower in rapture.

Reaching behind her, his hands 'round her back,

His power is growing, his love won't hold back.

Oh that sweet moment, so frozen in time,

He enters her warmth, and she feels it - so fine.

Oh how they moan, and call out in pleasure.

A sacred rhythmic beat, of their passions together.

Two surrendering bodies, their fire glows red,

Where are they going? When will it end?

The answer of course, comes all in good time,

With gasps of the body, to a joining of minds.

Flesh against flesh, hearts beat as one.

He still is inside her, her love like the sun.

They hold on for life, through each minute in time,

Lovers eternal, sharing dreams through the night.

Commentary on Lovers from the Poet:
I have been thinking a lot about how our repressive culture is so unable to
resolve love and sex. The trend appears to be toward creating separate
compartments for each, rather celebrating the blending of the both together.

It was just my humble attempt at capturing the essence of love making in a
world desensitized by exploitation of and aggression against the human body,
    mind, & spirit.

The poem was an experiment in expressing my opinion that true eroticism
grows in a loving relationship rather than fades and is relative to the
    depth of feeling.
    >>>>>>>>-----------------------------*--------------------------<<<<<<<<<<

This has been kept alive and moving since 9/11.

In memory of all those who perished this morning; the passengers and the pilots on the United Air and AA flights, the workers in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and all the innocent bystanders. Our prayers go out to the friends and families of the deceased.

    IF I KNEW..................................

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day.
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything just right.
There will always be another day to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do?"
But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight.
So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today, and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear
Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today

    A Prayer From
    --Marianne Williamson
    Dear God,
May I have meaningful work and
    meaningful activity in my life.
I desire to wake up each morning and feel that
I am used on behalf of something glorious.
I want to feel, no matter what my work, that
    I dispense blessing, love, forgiveness,
and kindness there to all I meet.
Help me to remember that You are the power.
May I not over glorify merchandizing or money or business.
    May my work be Yours.
    May my work be Love.
Help me to remember that as I focus on the Realm of Heaven,
everything else will take care of itself.
Help me have faith, to know the universe
shall take care of me as I take care of it.
In this moment, I am willing to put aside
    all small and worthless values.
In this moment, I am willing to let go
my attachment to money, popularity, power, prestige,
the things of the world that I do not need.
For I know that they are all illusion, and except
as they are sent by You,
    they lead me
    nowhere.
    Thus shall I shine.
And as I shine and sparkle, I shall radiate a
power in this world, not of this world, and
people will not fail to notice.
For I shall be as a star in a darkened sky.
I shall go to sleep knowing that I did as I have
    come here to do.
I shall be repaid by gratitude, shining in the eyes
    of my brothers.
    Please shine in my heart.
    Amen.

A VIRGIN LAMB, IN REPOSE, BY A MOUNTAIN STREAM-Thomas Farrell

I emerged out of the wood / knee deep in the bounty of wildflower meadows / Casting a glance to the meandering stream / bisecting the earth / though a definitive part of it / too / I happened upon a virgin lamb/ in repose.
Her purple gossamer gown hung / like the sultry summer humidity / from her breast and clung to her sensual shape / I was sure that she was some foreign seed / blown here by chance / and / her beauty blossoming next to this mountain stream / I sought to behold her / her beauty / her essence / not to pluck her from her rooted spot / but to join her in repose.
I thought / lambs aren¹t meant to be slaughtered / or crucified / but to be tended to / venerated / cherished for their grace / vulnerability / their natural beauty / they are not to be violated / but to be esteemed.
She / acknowledging my need for repose / asked me to join her next to the stream / to listen to Nature¹s voice / the herald of the ages / she offered me stream water / cupped in her palm / offering this life sustaining gift as if she held diamonds and jewels of the rarest magnitude / and she truly did / this gift she offered me.
Her palm / a vessel for all my thirst / being quenched / vital and sustaining / she held me in her hand and I trusted / I accepted this gift / her hair flowing in the breeze / dancing to the winds song.
This virgin lamb / by a stream / lying in repose / was not singing a siren song / for she was of terra firma / not ocean depths and turbulent seas / her melodic note reached deep into the cultivated fields of my own flowing nature / the fertile / lush / blossoming acres of my fields and streams / my meadows / my vast mountain ranges.
Her nature sang to me / not some shrill, discordant note, but a melodious harmony / blending / mending / meandering in and about / throughout and over again with my own note / harmonious and unfettered / a warm / lush / safe environment / next to this stream.
I thought / what shepherd has left this lamb untended? / Surely this lamb / of this stream / in repose / is of Divine Origin / notice her flowing grace / radiant beauty / her demur smile / the soft, gentle, soulful melody of her voice / she is of the highest magnitude / the rarest vintage / the most select strain / this blossomŠthis ray of sunshine.
It is not for me to determine where she is from / what of her history? / She is here / with me / smiling / laughing / sustained by fathomless blessings of creation and Divine dispensation.
Such gentle, feminine grace spills from her like the tendril laden flowers of the field / such energy moves me / envelops me / gently reminds me of the primordial bond that is our blessing.
Nature¹s bounty spread out before me / a Fertile Crescent / water sustaining the seed that we have planted together / this seed / in time / to blossom and grow with mutual attendance, collaborative effort and the requisite infusion of Love.

And so / the mountain stream flows readily to the ocean / our mutual repose yields an eternal bond / and my virgin lambŠwell her sanctity and divinity is shared with me  / our mutual natures dancing the spirited dance of love and friendship.

was made up in my head.

    And I'm drifting
    dream-i-ly along
    thirty days gone
    Father Moon and Mother Zen
    and I'm floating
with the hilltops in the wind

I have flown there and come back again
To this land that I love
to this home of the brave
    with these feelings inside
    of my
    universe bodymind.
    I walk over
to a pile of pink sand
    and discover
    Sparkle something in my hand
    He is listening
to the laughter of a child
    He is loving
and I take him up inside

    But this time I
    think I'd like a ride...
    I've been strolling
    up the hilly countryside
    I confess I
    was going with the tide
    And I lost it.

    wish I hitched a ride

    I left my love behind

climbing hilltops in the wind   --TBH

    Natural Woman

I don't need to be rescued.
For I have already been saved.
I am not a Damsel in Distress.

I need only to be taken care of to the extent that I need LOVE.
I am a powerful woman, just like all women, and I DO NOT need to be reminded about this as much as I need to be LOVED.

Appreciated, in the truest sense of the word, just like all people.

Released into the container of your particular Love.

I can move mountains, but not without Love.

Love takes care of a multitude,
    multidimensionally.

It is the binding force of creation.

It is that which holds the galaxies together.

Without Love, the fabric of life is torn apart.
    Like truth,
    it is the only REALITY.
    The rest is just an
    OPTICAL ILLUSION.

    Fear is a demon

    with venemous bite

    Master of illusions...

    .....those possessed burn
    open sores bleeding out

    PURE ENERGY

    Breathing in doubt

    Bleed out the doubt
    Love is the cure

    LOVE

    the
    center
    of all things.

    Fear of Success
    Late August

    August expires tonight

    Its cool, final breezes

    Already autumnal

The dying breaths of some gigantic beast

    Who sleeps

    Exhausted beneath the harvest

And dreams of being naked and light.

    Summer aches

    Her overladen womb

    Weary of its labors

    Craves the withering frost

    Ripeness left too long

Grows rank and fat upon the bough

    Which cannot bear

    But breaks.

    The world slips

    Sighing tired and heavy

    Headlong this evening

Into the quiet absence of space

    Darkness suddenly usurps the day

    Seasons falter

    Earth's massive axis tips.

    The heart bleeds

    Irrevocably

    Spilling its impossible lushness

Out into night's cool, black sea

    Life ends

The swell of passion's throbbing pulse

    Grows still

    And soon recedes.

    €ƒ€ƒ€ƒƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ €ƒ€ƒ€ƒƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ €ƒ€ƒ€ƒƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ €ƒ€ƒ€ƒƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€

    Death is an illusion.

Just as the fruit that rots and the seed becomes ONE
    Fertilizing Mother Earth
a New Generation is ever concieving
    Winters Grace Renders space
    for sweet relieving

    Transformation.
As the Equinox arrives on time once again.
    Winter Protects her own
    Life tranquilly sleeps
    restoring ch'i
    systems slow
    yet
    invisibly flow
    undetectable
    by the regular sense

    But The Enlightened Know
    The principles of Mother's Nature
    For as she sleeps
    she dreams
    of streams
    and rivers overflowing
    the warm sun
    once again glowing
all the while the seed is growing
    deeply and far from sight....

    Its never over...

    Feeling Good

I feel good. It feels good to feel good. So feel good!
I feel this and I feel that, but more so, I FEEL, so I'm glad.
I feel good and I feel God. God is Good. God Feels Good.
God feels me, and loves me, and loves that I feel.

I feel myself; I feel good! My skin feels so good on me.
My legs under me, my arms around me,
The sky in my eyes, the sun on my body.
The ground under my feet; the rain is so sweet!

Oh sweet waters caressing and loving me.
Flow over me and across my God given beauty.
Kiss my body with renewing life force from heaven.
So pure; these feelings; a child of God am I;  pure innocence.

Heart beating, blood pumping, life rushing through.
Crying! Trying! Breathing! Accepting! Loving all of you.
I'm really something! Thank you Lord! You're my best friend.
I feel your love, you feel my love, you've made me free, to just be.

Feel bad? Sometimes, Sure. But, I FEEEEL!
Feel scared? Of course; Feels like life; so real...FEEEEL!
Feel hot? Oh Yeah! That's life pulsing through me!
Feel alone? I'll give some love and feel love come back to me!

I will let my feelings lead me to the answers I seek.
I will feel the pleasures and pains and find truth and peace.
I will boldly go where I feel I must, with both eyes open.
I will follow with faith, for my feelings are truths unspoken.

I will feel snuggy and safe and warm in my bed.
I will feel calm and cool and serene in my head.
I will feel love and joy; and sometimes a little sad,
But knowing I feel; yes FEEL, means it's not so bad.

Because I have found the key, which lies within you and me.
No need to run and hide from feelings inside.
For they are the gift of a perfect God, now well understood,
Who gave me life, hope, love, and a choice, to feel good.

    Dear Friends,

With threats of suicide bombers in our midst, warnings of new terrorist attacks, and reports of extremists having infiltrated the United States in the last few weeks, it is time for those of us who believe in miracles, to ardently begin working them ... At NOON each day, wherever we are, let us stop for a minimum of five minutes, close our eyes and say a prayer for our country and our world.

None of us need think, "There is nothing I can do." While military and  economic and political forces have worldly power, they cannot work miracles. And we can, because prayer is a conduit of miracles. The first thing, the most powerful thing, the most miraculous thing we can do, is pray.

At noon each day, wherever we are, let us stop for a minimum of five minutes, close our eyes and say a prayer for our country and our world. Know that as you do  so, there are probably thousands of other people in your time zone doing exactly the same thing, thus increasing the vibratory power of the prayer field. Ideas become stronger when they are shared, and so do prayers.

Do what you can to let others know about the noontime prayer vigil, both here and abroad. Ultimately we will create a blanket of prayer that comes over the world in synchronized waves. Let us begin today. Let us surround  the entire planet with a field of light, and place a golden bubble of  protection over our nation. Ask God to create that picture for you in your  mind, and to so impress it upon your subconscious that it becomes an active,  creative force for good. Remember that a minimum of a full five minutes is necessary to allow the mind to achieve its highest creative potential as a  medium of intercessionary power. If you can only give less, it is fine; if you can give more, it is much better. This is not a time for second-rate spiritual practice, unless we desire second-rate results.

    Dear God,
Bless and protect us in this dangerous hour.
Forgive us how often our hearts have been closed
    when danger was visiting others.
May the eyes of our enemies be open,
that they might see the Light in us.
And may we see the Light in them,
that darkness shall be no more.
    Surround us all with Love,
    dear God,
    so hatred will dissolve.
    Amen

    Inner Fire:
" Spirituality is an inner fire, a mystical sustenance that FEEDS our SOULs. The mystical journey drives us into ourselves, to a sacred flame at our center. The purpose of the religious experience is to develop the eyes by which we see this inner flame, and our capacity to live its mystery. In its presence, we are warmed and ignited. When too far from the blaze, we are cold and spiritually lifeless. We are less than human without that heat. Our connection to God is life itself. "
Affirmation:    I am warmed by the flame of Spirit.

***"My shadow is no less important than the sun."  blinded by it, I stumbled and fell.***

    The Poetry of Disease
    by *Dr. David Filkoff*

Stop trying to fix your problems, to heal your disease, to overcome your deficiencies.
    Stop fighting with your negativity.
    Opposition doesn't work.
    You can't win.
Stop acting like you're in control,
    like you're the boss.
Cooperation, not dominance, is the answer.
Adopt a compassionate, creative attitude to your negative experiences and those experiences
    will TRANSFORM from
    stumbling blocks
    into
    stepping stones.

    --

    "You find, paradoxically,
that what you've been running away from
    is the source
    of your authentic being."
    James Hillman.

    --

The solution to your problem is right in front of you.

    --

    Life is theater.
We act out our problems in our day to day interactions until we find another way, another place, to pay attention to them.

What we take to be a problem
is really the solution to another problem,
    a bigger problem
    of which
    we are not yet aware.
    --

    The problem is the solution.

Everything depends on how you frame it: the context for your disease.

    Questioning invites knowledge.

    Darkness enlightens.

    Buddha exclaimed on achieving enlightenment:
"How wonderful!  All beings are already enlightened, just as they are."

    ( ( Everything is already perfect! ) )
    Everything except our attitude.

The way you look at the circumstance
    is the problem.

The difficulty is integral to the system.

    Something is calling for attention.

    * Pain cries out for Mercy.*

*By being prejudiced against the experience,
    * the wound festers and the Human,
    so busy BEing
    inevitably Suffers the DIS Ease.
    --
What you do, or don't do with the problem
    is the problem.

    --

So sit attentively, interact creatively with what is "wrong."

    • Find a creative discipline to interact with what is bothering you.

    • Make poems of your negativity instead of acting it out in your personal relationships.

    • Draw or sketch your problems instead of doing them in your career.

    • Dance your disease instead of manifesting illness in your body.

    Discover the magic for yourself.
Memorialize with creative expression that which makes you uncomfortable, your dis-ease, and practically your life improves; you become smarter, more effective at dealing with the problematic people and situations in your life.  If you do your negativity in a journal or sketchbook, then you don't have to do it elsewhere in your life.  You can do it here or you can do it there, but it's not going away.  What you have is what you need.  What you need is a better attitude to life's difficulties, to the disease.

Everything is an oracle, including the negativity.

    --

This message is intended to be a participatory experience.

It is meant as a guide to assist you in exploring your own DIS ease.

Hopefully the ideas and poetry offered here will inspire you to write your own poems.

Here are a some inspiring suggestions:

    1. HEAP IMAGES ON IT:
Record the images that describe your negative experience.  The psyche loves images; "I am lonely," carries no pictures; "A tiny boat on a vast, dark sea," is a rich image of loneliness.

    2. EMBELLISH:
Avoid writing directly about problematic people or situations.  Exaggerate, fictionalize, and don't worry about being fair or accurate.  Make use of poetic license.

    3. AVOID THE FIRST PERSON:
As much as possible.  Don't write about "my pain".
Instead write about the tree's pain, the sky's emptiness, the world's sorrow.
    Universalize your experience.

Poetry is the artistic discipline which I use to interact with disease, but I promise you, if you get a sketchbook and each day meditate on your negativities and then draw them, however abstractly, before you fill the book, your problems will be forever transformed into stepping stones.  It doesn't matter if you Are or Are Not a great artist.

*The talent is in the PAIN itself, and its expression the jewel, a gift giving forth abundant and renewed life.*

    Just do it.

    Heritage

it is a heritage left you

    a treasure from long ago

a language you cannot yet understand.

your basement full of riches you leave home in search of wealth

going to search for authority when you yourself are king.

that which you undervalue is the chief good

that which you neglect is the key to the kingdom.

the cow manure sprays out onto the field in a green-brown soup

    enriching the earth.

    respect yourself

including that part of you without self-respect.

    Howdy folks,
I am back from the road. Which means I have more access to the puter.
Personally I really think someone else should be the moderator as I
am just not able to put in the quality time it takes to have up to
date current info. I appreciate all the folks who post their info on
this list. I had thought about shutting down the list, because I know
that I am not doing it justice, however since this list is also used
for conversation I have decided not to shut it down.
Please, if you want to be the moderator let me know or perhaps their
can be talk amongst ourselves and we can decide as a consenus for a
    moderator.
    luvin u,
    starlady

The website for information on gatherings is:
    www.welcomehome.org
Rainbow Family of Living Light Unofficial Home Page

I trust that someone did e-mail you the info on time. It's a good
website to look at even when you are not considering going to a
    gathering.
    luv,
    starlady
