.........What is the difference between  sugar cane & cane sugar
? ........ And what is the difference between  Orthodox Syrian & Syrian
Orthodox ?..... Again what is the difference between Mor & Mar? ...Let me take
up the questions one by one..

Sugar cane is something for enjoying which we have to use our
teeth, while for enjoing cane sugar we need not use our teeth at all...... For,
the former is a plant with sweet juice and the latter is a food material the
diabetics are forebidden to take or simply the usual sugar which is produced
from sugar cane. In other words cane sugar is produced from sugar cane and sugar
cane is the source of cane sugar..

Coming to the next question, Orthodox Syrian is something Indian while the
Syrian (Syriac) Orthodox is something Universal... For making the Orthodox
Syrian fully Indian, they have first done away
with Syrian substituting it with the word Indian. ...Then it will look like
Orthodox Indian. Thus Orthodox Syrian Church when made Indian will be Orthodox
Indian Church. This name looks ugly; so they have it as Indian Orthodox Church.
To put it in other words an evolution took place as follows:

Stage 1 Syrian Orthodox Church0
Stage 2 Orthodox Syrian Church
Stage 3 Orthodox Indian Church
Stage 4 Indian Orthodox Church

I hope that you can now understand the difference between Syrian Orthodox and
Orthodox Syrian.

The names of some of the orthodox churches (Eastern and Oriental) are as follows

Greek Orthodox Church,
Russian Orthodox Church,
Romanian Orthodox Church,
Armenian Orthodox Church,
Ethyopian Orthodox Church,
Syrian Orthodox Church

and last but not the least
Orthodox Syrian Church

Let me go to the Churches under H H the Pope of Rome. They are named as under:

Latin Catholic
Syrian Catholic etc.,

Then why did they put the cart before the horse by calling themselves orthodox
syrian?

They wanted the entire properties of the Malankara Church and of the
individual parish churches. When they go to a court of law they will never call
themselves Indian Orthodox, but only Orthodox Syrian (cart before the horse);
before any court of law, their spiritual head is Patriarch whom they do not
recognise. Husband is the head of the wife and the head of the husband (and
consequently of both) is the Lord ...... When the wife denies the husband, she
denies the Lord as well. I do not say that this analogy is applicable to the
Church. When they have all things in subjection under their feet or when they
become rulers over all things, they will change everything. The church will be
known as Universal Indian Orthodox Church and the Catholicos will be the Supreme
Catholicos & Chief or Principal Patriarch with atleast four patriarchs under him
one for the USA & Canada, one for the Europian Union, one for the Middle East
and one for India thus trying to dilute the primacy of the Patriarch of Antioch.

Now let me come to Mar and Mor. The Indian Orthodox Church always use
the word "Mar" of East (Chaldian) Syriac and we use the word "Mor" of the West
(Antiochian) Syriac. They say the Malankara Church used East Syriac as its
litergical language until recently as is evident from the words mamodeesa,
kurbana, thaksa, koodasa etc, every word ending with an "a". We in India, they
say, seldom use words from West Syriac which end in "o". For them I have a
question to ask. When you hear from the street a call " chaacko, paattayo,
pathrakadalaaso, kuppiyo, plastico, pazhaya lohappathrangalo
wilpanundooooo...will Mr. Chacko think that the call is intented for him and for
him alone?. I have never found any words in Malayalam other than Chacko (derived
from Jacob which ends with "o" . So my humble submission is that Syriac words
ending with  "o" are baptised in to Malayalam substituting an "a" for "o".

Coming back to Mor and Mar once again. When we say H G Geevargese Mar
Coorilos we should mean the His Grace of the Indian Orthodox Church. When we say
Geevargese Mor Coorilos, it is His Grace of our Church. Incidently I may state
that the beloved mother of Mor Coorilos is a cousin of Mar Coorilos and the
difference between their names is the same as the difference between "o" and "a"

There is a prayer song in East Syriac the opening words of which is " kampel
maran" Malayalee would understand it as a direction to move to the branch. The
West Syriac form of "kampel maran" is "kabel moran" The words mean "accept our
Lord" or "njangalude karthave... kaikkollaname" It is evident that "maran" is
the East Syriac form of the West Syriac "Moran". So we can say "mar" becomes
"maran" and "mor" becomes "moran" In view of this His Holiness of
the Indian Orthodox Church should be called: "His Holiness Maran Mar Basalius
Mar Thoma Didimos IÂ" and if HB Mor Basalius Thomas I were to be referred by
this title, it will be "Moran Mor Basalius Thomas I" His Beattitude will never
allow anybody to club his name with the title Moran as it is used by us to refer
to our Lord Jesus Christ and by the church as a whole to the exception of the
Patriarch to refer to the Patriarch. the head of the Church. No patriarch has
ever used the titles HH or Moran to refer to himself. No Catholicos of Indian
Orthodox Church has failed to use the title to refer to himself except the
Catholicos in India consecrated in 1964 by H H Moran Mor Ignatius Yaacoob III,
for a short period until His Beattitude became conscious of his holiness and
moranship. The Indian Orthodox Church is not unaware of the meanings of Moran &
His Holiness. There is in the English Language His Holiness and Your Holiness
and no My Holiness. There is Our Lord (Moran or Maran) My Lord is the same as
Your Lordship ..But how can a person call himself Moran (Our Lord ) or His
Holiness?

I would end this with a home work for the readers; What is the name of the
Malankara Church as specified by the St.Dianatius of Vattasseril of the Indian
Orthodox Church in the Mathasamgathi? Clue refer to the Mathasangathi published
by Mor Addai Study Centre

The forum members are repeatedly bringing up the issue of SC judgment
of 1995 again and again. Why don't we stop the discussion, the
reason is simple but painful!

Read the quotes from SC judgment 1995 (20-6-1995)

"We are, however, of the opinion that in this suit no deceleration
can be granted affecting the rights of Parish churches in their
absence not it can be declared that the properties held by Malankara
Parish churches vest in the Catholicos or the Malankara Metropolitan
or the Metropolitan of the concerned diocese, as the case may be." (p
66 of the original judgment 1995). (2). No list of parish properties
is enclosed nor are the particulars of the alleged intermeddling
mentioned in the plaint (p 67). (3). It also appears that each of
these parish churches/associations has its won constitution; where
under the general body of the parish is declared to be the final
authority in temporal matters. All this is mentioned only to
emphasise that in the absence of the parish churches and proper
pleadings and proof, no declaration touching the parish churches can
be granted in these suits (p.. 69).

The police protection case (O.P. No. 22946 of 2002) was short cut to
get at the parish churches, which were not party to case.

Findings in the Police Protection Case (28-1-2003).

The rights of the parish churches were not determined by the SC in
the 1995 decision. Thus, it cannot be said that the contesting
respondents (Catholicos Mar Baseliose Thomas I) have no right to manage their
properties or the the 1st petitioner (Catholicos Mar Marthomas Mathews II) has
any right over the churches which were not parties in the case (brackets added
for clarity) p.27.. (2). All the churches listed in Exihibit P-4 (list of 1064
churhces) having not been impleaded as parties, no order affecting the right of
those who are not before the court can be passed (p. 27).

Findings of the SLP in the SC (4-4-2007).

"It would be an abuse of the process for a writ petitioner
(Catholicos Marthomas Mathews II) to approach the High Court under
Article 226 of the consideration seeking a writ of mandamus directing
the police authorities to protect his claimed possession of a
property without first establishing his possession in an appropriate
civil court. The temptation to grant relief in cases of this nature
should be resisted by the High Court."

There are other observations which IOC will try to cling to which are
only declarations that cannot be executed. In short, fresh cases are
necessary to establish civil rights in each parish. This is the hard
reality, no matter whether you like it or not. Therefore, the recent
cry to implement SC judgment is again a request in guise to get at
the parish churches and properties. Let IOCs cry loud and loud,
however, authorities now know the fact of the matter.

"Although the soul is one and the members of the body are many, the soul
sustains them all, giving life and movement to those that can be animated.
Should some of them have withered because of some disease and become as if dead
and inert, yet they are still sustained by the soul, even in their lifeless and
insensate state. Similarly, the Spirit of Christ is present with integral
wholeness in all who are members of Christ, activating and generating life in
all capable of participating in it; and in His compassion He still sustains even
those who through some weakness do not actively participate in the life of the
Spirit. In this way each of the faithful participates, by virtue of his faith,
in adoption to sonship through the Spirit; but should he grow negligent and fail
to sustain his faith he will become inert and benighted, deprived of Christ's
life and light. Such is the state of each of the faithful who, though a member
of Christ and possessing the Spirit of Christ, fails to acti

vate this Spirit within himself and so is stagnant, incapable of participating
positively in the life of grace."

Matrimonial Advertisements NOTIFICATION: The SOCM-Forum is keeping a
free matrimonial advertisement section, which will be published on
every Tuesdays.

This service can be availed by any Malankara Christians. However,
recently we have noticed that many esteemed members, after sending
the matrimonial advertisements to us, are not informing us whether
the ad is to be continued for longer periods or not. Some times we
face embarrassing situations when the advertised party got married
and still the marriage ads in the forum are repeated.Hence, as on 17
April 2007, we have decided to keep any matrimonial advertisements
initially for a period of ONE YEAR only. If any advertisers
would like to extent this period after its initial period, they have
to send us a written request to extent the period. In such cases, we
will continue the publication of the advertisement for a further
period of one or two months, as per their request. However, we will
not be continuing the ads thereafter.

We request every advertisers of today's matrimonial section, to
cooperate with us in informing whether the marriage is over or you
want to continue the ad for another period. We will only continue
with the advertisements of such confirmed advertisers.

Hope everybody will understand and cooperate with us.

Be with us and be part of us.

Family a Godly Concept

"There for what God has joined together, let man not separate"(Mathew
19:6)

Family is established by our God the creator of this beautiful World;
so it is a Godly Concept which is a continuity of generations after
generations. While we look towards west it is totally ruined but it
is still a Godly Concept at east especially among Indians. Gathering
of many families makes a Family conference which here U A E we have
started in 2005 by the visional leadership of then Bishop H E . Dr.
Mor Theophilose Kuriakose. By the abundant Blessings of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ we are now ready for the 4th Family Conference,
which is Blessingly hosted by St. Mary's J. S Soonoro Church Sharjah
on 2nd December 2008. At this glorious occasion we place our sincere
prayers for H H Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka 1 I was our Patriarch, H. B
Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas 1, Catholicos of East and all the
Metropolitans, for their spiritual guidance, good health and long
life. On behalf of the Family Conference committee i wish to record
my sincere gratitude to one and all who spent their valuable time and
effort to make this historical event a great success.

Dear Dn Bobby and my Jacobite brethren

Congratulations to Dn. Bobby for your vision to start a student's forum for our
Jacobite students in Thodupuzha. We need such groups and centers in all the main
cities in our country. I am sorry to say the negative experience that I got from
the authorities in Bangalore were more than 40 % of our Jacobite students are
doing their higher studies when I asked for starting students forum of our
church in Bangalore. I Know that it is unhealthy for me, write these things
openly in this forum. I am willing to risk my life, but for the sake of the
church, I keep silence now. It is well known to the Holy Synod the situations in
Bangalore. Let them decide.

Dn. Boby I think both HG Mor Ivaneose, Metropolitan of Kandanadu Diocese and H E
Mor Theophilose Metropolitan, president of Jacobite Syrian Students Movement of
India (JASSMI) can give you direction in this field. If you need any support
from me (both financial and technical) don't hesitate to ask. In this moment I
remember Fr. Alias Kappankuzhiyil for his tireless effort for organizing the
JASSMI Forum in various colleges in Kerala.

Dear Jacobite brethren please think of our youth and students, give your sincere
support to our students and youth movements.

Dear Eldho,
You have asked a nice question. Many are having this doubt, that is whether
Judas is to be venerated or not. From my experience, some Muslims and Bible
critics also ask these question.

Jesus' crucifiction and death is ofcourse planned from the beginning.
Prophets were proclaiming it. Judas did a wrong thing to betray his Teacher.

We have no doubt. But, the doubt is that, because of this betrayal only, we
could attain salvation. So why should not Judas be praised? It is just because
of the fact that he had done the sin to betray his teacher. But the God can
tranform a bad doing to a good. Just like, Moses did a sin to kill an Egyptian,
but he fled afraid of Pharaoh and then God used the oportunity to select him as
a prophet. There are hell a lot of examples from the Bible itself. When we
closely observe our lives, this is still happening!! One must have done a wrong
thing to you, but God make this an opportunity to bring a good prosperity out of
that.

So the sin of Judas was tranformed to a good by the Lord. And that is the truth.
So a sinner and sin cannot be venerated. And there is a term called 'free will'.
If we want to do sin, God will never interfere in that. That is we have the
prevelage to select good or bad in our lives. This is what is meant in Lord's
words to Caen "The sin is at the door.....". Adam and Eve was given the
prevelage to eat the fruit or not. We are still having that prevelage. But God
will warn us through many mediums. Judas was also warned many times. We can see
Jesus warning Judas even just before the Last Supper. Still he was not turning
his heart, so Jesus was just leaving him like "Do
what you have decieded". That is not a permission.

About the second doubt, that is Satan entered Judas' heart when he recieved the
Holy Eucharist. That is a clear explanation of what will happen when Eucharist
is consumed by one who is unholy or with his sins. Judas was with his heart
unholy, consumed the Euchartist and Satan entered. But the other Apostles also
consumed it, but recieves the blessing and Holy Spirit.

Hi all

I just signed an urgent message calling for unity following the
attacks in Mumbai. Read the email below - Thanks

--------------------------

Dear friends across India and the world,

We're all feeling the shock of the awful attacks in Mumbai. All our
hearts go out to the victims and their families.

The attacks were aimed at our people, our prosperity and our peace.
But their top target was something else: our unity. If these attacks
cause us to turn on each other in hatred and conflict, the terrorists
will have won. They know that hatred and chaos feed on division. As
radical extremists, their only hope of winning is by turning the rest
of us against each other.

Let's deny them that victory. We're launching a message to extremists
on all sides and all our political leaders, one that will soon be
published in newspapers across India and Pakistan. The message is
that these tactics have failed, that we're more united than ever,
united in our love and support to each other, determined to work
together against terror and call on our leaders to do the same. If
millions of people sign it, our message will be unmistakable, click
below to sign it and please forward this email widely:

http://www.avaaz.org/en/india_undivided/98.php/?cl_tf_sign=1

It's time to speak out, let's do it together.

Dear all,

I went through a posting of Sajy, kathmandu in ICON Forum. He has raised an
intresting question. But seriously I was amused that till now after all his
postings in ICON and SOCM he dont have an answer for it.

quote..
>>>>>> But let me try to shed some light to the very common issue with any
layman like me.To be very frank I don't know what is the official status of
Church.MOC leadership says we will not surrender to any foreign powers, but we
want to implement SC judgment. Don't you think these are very contradictory
statements? I am not talking about surrendering MOC to SOC but if Church
welcomes SC verdict obviously it is welcoming HH Zakha Iwas's constitutional
right & so his successors. Second issue, what is church's priority? Whether it is
church building or people in that church. If church building is the priority
then current system of litigation is more than enough.. But if people are
important MOC has to think how they can create confidence among people who want
unity but prefer SOC link.>>>>
unquote..

Its not an open secret that MOSC leadership doesnt have anything to do with HH
the Patriarch in their scheme of things. If Sajy kathmandu hasnt understood that
till now we can only be sorry for him.( He can get enlightened on this subject
by watching the vedios of kottayam "mahasammelan")

What MOSC wants is a church which is entirely nationalistic and Autocephalus.
Both these things have been expressly denied by 95 SC. But even then they are
trying to reach that goal through massive misrepresantation of facts.

The only thing that hasnt been implimented in 95 SC is the rightfull place of
honour of HH the Patriarch. When MOSC states that 95 SC judgement is not
implimented, its true, as regards the place of Honour of HH the Patriarch in
MOSC. 95 SC has clearly stated that HH the Patriarch is the head of MOSC.. But
they wont accept it in reality. They will accept HH in court, but in practice
they will deny Him.

This dubious stance of MOSC right from the days of H G vattaserril mar
Divanasious had been the root cause of the never ending church litigation.
Remember the infamous deposition of H G Mar Vattaserril Divanasious in court. "I
dont know who put His hand on my head while I got ordained". Now if a common
layman asks " them why He went all the way to jerusalem to get ordained without
knowing who is ordaining Him", can he be faulted with. Common hands are plenty
over here also.

The legacy of the father continues irrespective of the passage of time...

From 76 onwards two of the predecissors of HH Didimos first have submitted sworn
affidavets in court, stating that HH the Patriarch is head of MOSC. But what
have HH Didimaos first have to say in kottaym sammelan. " I have only
Akashathilulla Bava over me"

The legacy of the father should definitly continue...

For MOSC the name of HH the Patriarch is fine only for one thing. To cheat some
sections of the Jacobite Church from time to time . It happened in 58, then in
76 and yet again in 95. They will tell that they accept HH only to pull some
people from JSC.

Even so called well learned bishops fall for it. What is their role now... Abuse
HH even further... How else to survive in that Church.

Sajy Kathmandu will never get an authentic answer for his question. The maximun
he may get is a long posting on oriental orthodoxy from Thomas P. It will
contain atleasts 15 quotes and 20 links to God only knows sites.

Same is the case with the other important issue. Temporal independence of Parish
churches. You be sure that there wont be any authentic answer for this question.
It can never be answered by MOSC. Because the answer may not be liked by even
their own parishes...

for some fanatic Kurdish village heads, it seems to be a problem.

1. Luke 1:18-Zechariah asked the angel-how can I be sure of this??
The Angel Gabriel replied- (LUKE1:20) And now you will be silent and
not able to speak until the day this happens because you did not
believe my words.

2. LUKE 1:34 -How will this be? Mary asked the angel.
The Angel replied -(LUKE1:37) For nothing is impossible to the God.

These are two incidents not common to the world. Surely the people have
doubts about how can it possible. But for Zechariah the answer from
angel is a punishment but for Mary it is an explanation.

Why this difference??

Dear Friends in Christ

I disagree with Mr.Thomas, contributing money ,other than subscription is not a
bad idea. Jesus told to leprosy man after he cured, go to the church show
yourself to the priests and do the offering which is set by Mosses. Another
occation Jesus point out the widow who put all her lvelyhood in the church. So
offering money is not a ticket to heaven, we are earning money we should pay 10
% mandatory to church, if not it is personal affair, begging is a profession
that is why in many palces it is baned. We have many other ways to help poor,
and orphans. On the other hand I will never agree to offer money at parumala
church. We can do good things in the name of Parumal tirumeni at our place, or
where ever we want.

Thank you for posting my message in SOCM. I am also prepared to receive

I hope you might have noticed my other messages also. If not, please
browse through archives to have an elaborate view.

I have noticed some comments about lack of response from SOCM members

because there were no responses, but it was because Moderators
preferred to disapprove them. However, I respect their voluntary
service to the Church.

From the desk of Moderators

We always approve messages from both the factions if the messages are
constructive. Even when Sajy being an IOC member, we have approved all his
messages we received from him and other so called 'message on peace'. However,
we can't approve messages or authors who ridicule our church leaders, who are
the right succussors of apostolic faith. We have found that people who writes so
called 'message on peace' write very dirty languages in other forums against the
fathers of the true church. We can't entertain such 'peace lovers' in our forum.
'Peace' in our definition is not surrendering to the Kottayam Catholicose but
bringing the peace which existed in the church before the split. This means the
church has to remain under the spiritual leadership of Patriarch of Antioch and
All the East and can only accept the bishops ordained with approval of him, as
the church was before the split. We promote the autonomy of the church but not
the autocephaly. We do not entertain the nationality based churches as seen in
the Byzantine Orthodox churches which are blindly being imitated in some
Oriental Orthodox churches in recent years. We promote a church, which is
'Catholic' in nature and is independent of race, ethnicity or nationality. This
was the concept existed in the church before the split. We can't entertain any
deviation of truth or historical truths by allowing so called 'messages on
peace' which are usually against the truth.

A question and its answer about Christmas

Question

How do you respond to the teachings of the certain churches that
the birth of our Lord Jesus (Christmas) was not in the month of
December as it was very diificult for the shepherds to stay outside
overnight during winter time?

Answer from Paul Ciniraj,

We have no answer for the argument about Jesus birthday on December
25.

Some of the Orthodox churches celebrate Christmas not on December
25, but on January 6, which is "Denaha" or the baptismal day of our
Lord Jesus. Our Lord was baptised for the mankind on His 30th of
age.

Our Lord's birth, baptism, crucifixion, death, resurrection and
ascencion - everything was done for the whole mankind.

Whenever we accept Jesus, that day onwards we are partakers of His
birth, baptism, crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascencion. So
we can celebrate all these in our life at any day or any time as a
tradition. Anyday means, including December 25.

As you know, when a priest baptise a child he pour out water from
the side of child's leg to the chest, then from the side of head to
the chest, then from the side of left ribs to the chest and the
right side to the chest. It is cross. That means the child is
crucifying with Jesus, dies and burying. It is the symbol of the
resurrection when the baptised child is taking out from the water.
That is a christian's re-birth in Jesus Christ.

December 25 is six days before the new year. January 6 is six days
after new years. Whether December 25 or January 6, Christmas is a
great day for a christian. Most of the people around the globe
celebrates christmas on December 25 and the Orthodox Churches in
India join with them.

Christmas means Christ-Mas. It is a MAS Belief. Those who accept
Jesus as personal saviour transforming likely as Jesus. So millions,
who accepted Jesus joined together with one mind and one faith is
Christmas. It must be for the glorification of God with purity and
holiness of mind and body. And never.... never for unholy and crazy
things.

The Jacobite Syrian Christians in Cheengeri attended St.Peter's
Church, Meenangadi till early 50s. In the year 1958, a church was
consecrated in the name of St.Mary at Cheengeri. But as a result of the problems
created by the Bishop's Party in 1974, police lathi charge occured and the
parish was closed down. This was the very first closed down church in
Malanakara.

During the lathi charge in '74, one of our parish members, who was pregnant, got
aborted on the spot. But except a few, everybody stood firmly under the
Antiochian Faith and made a temporary shead near to the cemetry and started
worship there. In the year 2003, the renovated church was consecrated by Their
Graces Mor Themotheos Thomas, Mor Polycarpus Geevarghese and Dr.Mor Philaxinos
Yuhanon. The Holy Relics of Maphriano Mor Baselios Yeldho was placed in the
church, by the metropolitans in a specially built tomb, on the same
day.

The parish was blessed with the visits of
Late Lemented Catholicose Aboon Mor Baselios Poulose IInd,
Present Catholicose, Yaq'ub Burdhono of Malankara,
Dr. Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas Ist, Metropolitans,
Late Lemented Dr.Mor Gregorios Geevarghese,
Late Lemented Mor Philaxinos Samuel,
Dr. Mor Themotheos Thomas,
Mor Polycarpus Geevarghese,
Mor Coorilose Markose,
Mor Dioscorus Kuriakose,
Mor Athanasius Geevarghese,
Mor Theethose Yeldho
and
Dr. Mor Philaxinos Yuhanon.

The St.Mary's Sunday School under the church was selected as the
Best Sunday School in Malankara by MJSSA twice. The PHEONOX RELIEF
FUND functioning under the church has been doing many charity works in the
District.

In the year 2006, the church was declared "pilgrim centre" by the
diocesian metropolitan Dr.MorPhilaxinos Yuhanon.

Main feasts of the church are Feast of St.Mary in February, Feast of
St.George in April and Feast of Mor Baselios Yeldho in September-
October.

Besides, the Feast of Maphriyano Mor Baselios Yeldho is celebrated
on every Second Saturdays.

The church has a chapel consecrated in the name of St.Mary at
Rattakund and three shrines in the names of St.George at Karachal,
Mor Baselios Yeldho at Karamkolly and Three Wisemen at Pallithazham.
The cross (made of Krishnashila) in front of the church is
consecrated in the name of St.Gregorios Chathuruthil. The three
thronoses of the church are consecrated in the name of St.Mary,
St.George and Mor Baselios Yeldho.

On this auspecious occassion, we invite you all to the Holy 11nmel
Qurbono.

In our LORD'S Love,

ST. IGNATIUS ELIAS III SYRIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH LAWRENCEVILLE, GEORGIA,
USA.

"He called that place Bethel, [Bethel means House of God]
though the city used to be called Luz". Genesis 28:19

It is a great spiritual joy for me to announce the first Holy
Eucharistic celebration at the new Church building, acquired by the
St. Ignatius Elias III Syrian Orthodox Church in Lawrenceville,
Georgia. This is the first Parish established in the venerable name
of Patriarch Saint Ignatius Elias III of Manjanikkara (Omalloor Bava)
within the Malankara Archdiocese in North America, under the Holy
Apostolic Throne of Antioch and All the East. The Parish has been
conducting services at the Episcopal Church, in Lilburn, Georgia.
Now, by the enormous Divine Providence, along with the valuable
intercession of our Patron Saint, St. Ignatius Elias III and with the
tireless efforts of the members, this small Parish is ready to move
into a convenient facility. We can testify that the prayers,
encouragement and generous donations of our friends and well-wishers
from Parishes within the Archdiocese and from the kind contributions
received from a number of people, assisted us to acquire and renovate
the property. We request your prayers and continued support in
serving our Lord in the Blessed Intercession of St. Mary the Mother
of God and all other Saints, especially with the supplication of
Saint Ignatius Elias III. God willing, we will have the evening
prayer along with a temporary dedication ceremo ny of the facility @
169 McConnell Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia on Saturday (12/6/08)
evening and thereafter the celebration of the first Holy Eucharist on
Sunday (12/7/08).

On behalf of St. Ignatius Elias III parish, my humble self is
extending our sincere gratitude and beseech all respected Clergy and
Faithful to pray for blessings at this solemn occasion.

Please come, visit and worship with us when you come to Atlanta.

Prayerfully submitted.

Mathai Achen.

Greetings!

Worry - Disobedience and Undue Burden

Worry is not part of God's plan for any of our lives, and yet many of us are
reluctant to trust Him.
1 Peter 5:7 "... 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."

It seems almost comical. Who in this world can you trust more than God?! Yet, so
many of us are unwilling to give our complete trust to God. We obey Him in so
many other ways, but when it comes to our job, money, or loved ones, we hold
things back for ourselves. God wants to remove those worries from our hearts if
we'll let Him, but we're frequently consumed by the evil spirit of worry. It's
much akin to an addiction.

Like alcoholics who think that they need booze to get them through the day, we
are secretly afraid that we won't know what to do with ourselves if we give this
up to God. This is actually a form of pride.

God says, to "humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt
you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you" (1
Peter 5:6-7). Think you're a humble person? If you let worry consume you, you're
stiffening your neck against God's hand. God's not saying that we should stand
by and be complacent in regard to these very real concerns. He wants us to seek
Him, and pray for those issues and people. He's not saying that your thing of
worry is insignificant. He just wants to handle it, and He wants you to trust
Him.

This is a copy of the e-mail I recieved 2 yeares back (aftrer the bomb blast in
trains). I hope this is a good time remember.

Dear Terrorist,

Even if you are not reading this we don't care. Time and again you tried to
disturb us and disrupt our life - killing innocent civilians by planting bombs
in trains, buses and cars. You have tried hard to bring death and destruction,
cause panic and fear and create communal
disharmony but everytime you were disgustingly unsuccessful. Do you know how we
pass our life in Mumbai? How much it takes for us to earn that single rupee? If
you wanted to give us a shock then we are sorry to say that you failed miserably
in your ulterior motives. Better look elsewere, not here.

We are not Hindus and Muslims or Gujaratis and Marathis or Punjabis and
Bengaliies. Nor do we distinguish ourselves as owners or workers, govt.
employees or private employees. WE ARE MUMBAIKERS (Bombay-ites, if you like). We
will not allow you to disrupt our life like this. On the last few occassions
when you struck (including the 7 deadly blasts in a single day killing over 250
people and injuring 500+ in 1993), we went to work next day in full strength.
This time we cleared everything within a few hours and were back to normal - the
vendors placing their next order, businessmen finalizing the next deals and the
office workers rushing to catch the next train. (Yes the same train you
targetted) Fathom this: Within 3 hours of the blasts, long queues of blood
donating volunteers were seen outside various hospital, where most of the
injured were admitted. By 12 midnight, the hospital had to issue a notification
that blood banks were full and they didn't require any more blood. The next day,
attendance at schools and office was close to 100%, trains & buses were packed
to the brim, the crowds were back. The city has simply dusted itself off and
moved one - perhaps with greater vigour.

We are Mumbaikers and we live like brothers in times like this. So, do not dare
to threaten us with your crackers. The spirit of Mumbai is very strong and can
not be harmed.

Please forward this to others. U never know, by chance it may come to
hands of a terrorist in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq and he can then
read this message which is specially meant for him!!!

With Love,
From the people of Mumbai
