Due to our game this
weekend not being televised in the Seattle Area, we will NOT be meeting to
watch the game tomorrow as usual. The Hokies play at 10:30 AM PST
tomorrow and the game can be found online from what I understand.
We hope everyone has a
great weekend and we look forward to seeing you all at the game watching event!
From Jon at the People's Pub:
Of course, those who want to watch it with the Hokies over at The
People's Pub in Ballard are more than welcome to do so (for internet
only games we stream computers to the TV or big monitors depending on
crowd size). Even with the quality of the ACC web feeds it is often
more fun to watch with a gang of rowdy Hokies than solo at home LOL.
Hi y'all!
Well, we are in the thick of football season, but my time as President
is coming to a close.
We've got someone from the Alumni Association coming out in November,
so I'd like to get the new officers determined before she arrives.
I like the way we've worked together this year by having a planning
committee. Thanks to all!
Please send me a note if you would like to be nominated for the
positions of President, Webmaster, or Social Chair.
Thanks and Go Hokies!
Stephen
Howdy y'all!
The deadline for officer nominations is next Friday (October 24). The
only requirement for any of the positions is that you are a resident
of the greater Puget Sound area.
Please send me a note, strader@..., if you would like
to be nominated for the positions of President, Webmaster, or Social
Chair.
Thanks and Go Hokies!
Stephen

Hey y'all!
The UVa alumni association wants to have a joint gathering for the VT
- UVa game. We're going to try to schedule it for the Spitfire grill.
Since the game time hasn't been determined yet, I'm not sure if we
can get the back room or not.
Wherever we are, so will they (Wahoos) be.
I'll send out another notice when we get the details works out!
GO HOKIES!
Stephen
Hey y'all,
In just a couple days, we'll close out the nominations for President,
Social Chair, and webmaster.
If you are interested in making a nomination (yourself or someone
else), please send them to me at strader@....
Go Hokies!
Stephen
Just the weekly reminder for the game this weekend - hopefully we can
extract more vengeance against Florida State for the Peter
Warrick/National Championship game now that we've proven we can beat
them (last year). We're still in this folks, remember we have the tie
breakers in our favor so far on our side of the conference!
Also, as I mentioned last week, the Alumni Association (many of you
are not on their email list - you can sign up on the Yahoo site or
just ask Elizabeth) is having a happy hour Hokies gathering at the Pub
on Wednesday this week from 6:30 to 8:30 (though of course you can
hang out for cheap food and drink like normal till 2 AM LOL) at the
Stammtisch table in the back - come on down to join us (I'll be there
as well!).
And speaking of the Alumni Association, another heads up for the
weekend after the Miami game in November, my good friends Debbie and
JS (she is the AA VP contact from Bburg who many of you have met at
house parties or the Pub over the years) will be in town at the Pub
likely Saturday night (maybe Friday) - I'll let you know beforehand.
She is the one who has provided us with many goodies over the years
like the signed footballs, bumper stickers and the like. I am sure
she'd love to see y'all again when she visits the Hokie headquarters
for the Northwest! :-)
Later Daze
Jon
Good morning!
We received the following nominations:
President - Eric Bowman
Social Chair - Elizabeth Bowman
Webmaster - Bryan Spangler
Since we only have one nominee for each position, I'll dispense with
having a formal election.
Congratulations to Eric, Elizabeth and Bryan!
They will officially take over at the end of November.
Go Hokies!
Stephen

What better way to celebrate over a holiday weekend than to be with
fellow Alumni, friends and family watching the biggest rivalry game of the
season!
We had a number of request for a family friendly environment so we were able to
secure a great location in Downtown Kirkland (hopefully no more than a 30
minute drive for you city folks.) The weather is going to be nice so
enjoy a walk around the town after the game. Hector's serves a great
breakfast so come Hungary!
If you can confirm to me (strader@... ) on how many in your party that would be great so we can make sure
we have enough table tops set up. We'll be in a back room so we can hear
the game, make lots of noise and watch on a High Def Television!
