Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life; think of it; dream of it; live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea, and just leave any other idea alone. This is the way to success, and this is the way great spiritual giants are produced.

The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings.

You Mother Tongue will be wipeout soon!

By the end of the 21st century, 90% of the world's languages could have been wiped out - Dr. Larry Gorenflo

Cutting off our tongues: By the end of the 21st century, 90% of the world's languages could have been wiped out

Many of the world’s languages could become extinct if more is not done to protect threatened environments, scientists say.

It's little reported next to the extinction of species, but as 'wild' areas are industrialised, languagees are being wiped out at a frightening rate, say Penn State University researchers.

Experts estimate that by the end of the century between 50 and 90% of the world’s languages may have disappeared.
Experts estimate that by the end of the century between 50 and 90% of the world¿s languages may have disappeared.
Experts estimate that by the end of the century between 50 and 90% of the world¿s languages may have disappeared

With them disappear the stories and culture unique to those languages. Instead, an industrial 'world culture' takes over.

Dr Gorenflo, of Penn State University said: ‘We looked at regions important for biodiversity conservation and measured their linguistic diversity in an effort to understand an important part of the human dimension of these regions.

'What ends up happening when we lose linguistic diversity is we lose a bunch of small groups with traditional economics.

‘Indigenous languages tend to be replaced by those associated with a modern industrial economy accompanied by other changes such as the introduction of chain saws.

New research shows that seventy per cent of languages are in biodiversity hotspots - the most threatened locations on earth - or wilderness areas.

With species disappearing 1000 times faster than at any other time, experts predict a grim future for many human tongues.

And as local languages are replaced by more universal ones local traditions and values disappear to be replaced by industrial ones, researchers say.

Rainforest in Brazil:
Rainforest in Brazil: As 'wild' areas are industrialised, languages disappear with them - and the stories and culture unique to those languages. Instead, an industrial 'world culture' takes over
They argue that linguistic and biological diversity are linked, with the loss of one affecting the other.

Dr Larry Gorenflo writes in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences: ‘These regions - hot spots and high biodiversity wilderness areas - often contain considerable linguistic diversity, accounting for 70 percent of all languages on Earth.

‘Moreover, the languages involved frequently are unique to particular regions, with many facing extinction.’

The researchers first looked at 35 biodiversity hot spots which comprise only 2.3 percent of the Earth’s surface but contain more than half the world’s vascular plants and 43 percent of terrestrial vertebrate species.

In these 35 hotspots, the researchers found 3,202 languages - nearly half of all languages spoken on Earth.

These hotspots are spread throughout the world’s continents with the exception of Antarctica.

They also examined linguistic diversity in five high biodiversity wilderness areas, whose remaining habitat covers about 6.1 percent of the Earth’s surface and contains about 17 percent of the vascular plant species and 6 percent of the terrestrial vertebrate species.

These regions contained another 1,622 languages, with many languages are unique to particular areas and are spoken by relatively few people, making them susceptible to extinction.

‘In terms of biodiversity conservation, all bets are off.

‘I think it argues for concerted conservation efforts that are integrated and try to maintain biodiversity and cultural diversity.’

He said that without cultural and linguistic diversity increasingly appears to be tied to biological diversity.

He said: ‘In many cases it appears that conditions that wipe out species wipe out languages,’ said Gorenflo.

‘I think basically this study helps to establish these areas of high biodiversity as the world’s most important landscapes.’

kazaRchiNga nAyanAr

In the pallava kingdom came this Nayanmaar and the king who ruled in neutral mind-set, by name kazaRsinger . The only thing that he aimed for was the foot of Lord shiva, the ultimate wealth. Valiant and vigorous he got victories over the Northern kingdoms. The Lion that roared at the battlefields went to the mind-pleasing abodes of the auspicious God that are widespread in the land in all humbleness and devotion. The Lord who is never won was master. The king came to the famous abode of the Lord thiruvArUr. Escorted by the queen and the courtmen, he came to the temple of the Lord who wanders in the forests with a huge army happily dancing and chanting. n^AyanAr lost himself in the blessed sight of the Rare Gem that sits in that abode. The queen went circumambulating the temple see
ing the beauties of it. She arrived at the hall where the flowers are joined into garlands to be offered to the Lord who has lily, jasmine, bilvam, maththam in His decorated matted hair. There was one fresh flower that had fallen from the hall dais where the garlandt.s are made. She took the flower that was brought to adorn the Lord and smelt

cheRuththuNai n^AyanAr(1) who had dedicated his life in the service of the Supreme Lord and who served the Lord in an error-free manner, was annoyed at seeing a human smelling the fresh flower that was specifically brought for the worship of the Supreme God. She had taken the flower from the dais and smelt it, he thought. Irked at the queen who defaulted the discipline, the fearless devotee not bothering whether it was a queen or a normal citizen he cut down the nose that smelt the flower. The queen fell down and cried like a peacock rolling down. By then the king kazarchiN^ga n^AyanAr came there after saluting the Lord of thiruvArUr. The king saw the queen screaming in pain. Who in this world dared to do such an atrocity, he thundered. chEruththuNai n^ayanAr came there and explained what had happened. The king with an upright royal stick that was not bent for relatives, said that the punishment was not complete. He took his sword and slained the slender hands of the queen that took the flower. There was a rain of flowers appreciating his justice. The king ruled long keeping in mind the holy feet of the Lord of Justice. He resided under that sacred feet with the praise of the world. Let the impartiality and devotion of kazarchiN^ga n^AyanAr stay in the mind.

Dear all
Sivayanamaha.
We have been so far listening the stories of all Great Saints by name 63 Nayanmaars life history. All of them had the boon of darsaning Lord Shivaa in their life time and made this world understand the Grace of Shiva  and how He Blesses His Devotees.
The process of worshipping Shiva through Tamil Hymns called PANNIRU THIRUMURAI came in to our hands through Saint NambiAandaar Nambi His Gurpooja is celebrated today at Thirunaraiyur,on Chidmbaram Trichy National high way 17kms from Chidambaram,8kms from Kattumannar koil.
This being one of the 274 Paadal Petra Sivasthalas more details can be had from the following link:

His Story in English is avialble from the following too:

After Nambi got the Thirumurais, followed by His Hymn Saint Chekkizar wrote PeriyaPuraanam meaning The Big Story of the Universe from where we listen all 63 Nayanmaars.Fortunately His star &that of NaminandhiAdigal Nayanmaar being PUSAM  comes tomorrow.Let us their tales too as follow:
chEkkizAr was born at kunRaththUr in the thoNdai n^Adu (part of Tamilnadu and Andhrapradesh which was ruled by  pallavA kings) which was famous for its intellectuals. He was born in shaivite farmer family of chEkkizAr tradition with his younger brother pAlaRAvAyar. The chOza king - kulOththuN^ga chOzan II (an^apAyar) - who was ruling the region then wondered at the intelligence, honesty and excellence of chEkkizAr and made him his prime minister knighting him as uththama chOza pallavar. chEkkizAr was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva in thirun^AgEshwaram and did a lot of services to that temple. He built a temple in kunRaththUr and named that too thirun^AgEshwaram.
The king who was much interested in arts was mostly appreciating the thamiz book chIvaka chin^dhAmaNi. As a dedicated minister to guide the king in the proper way, chEkkizAr advised him that those books will do good neither for living nor for liberation and on his question he told the king that the lives of the devotees who were praised in the thiruththoNdaththokai(1) of chun^dharar(2), which was later sung by n^ambiyANdAr n^ambi in his thiruththoNdar thiruvan^dhAdhi, are the great thing to read and follow. Inspired by this the king asked chEkkizAr to sing in detail the lives of the devotees as an epic.
chEkkizAr agreed and worshiped the dancing Lord (n^atarAjar) at chithambaram.(3) The Lord gave him the first word to start the epic as ulakelAm. (chEkkizAr has used this word with respect in the beginning, middle and end of the work). Then he wrote the entire periya purANam and was made public in chithambaram in the presence of intellectuals, saints and others. After the araN^gERRam (publication), the king took chEkkizAr around the town on the royal elephant and he himself fanned chekkizAr during the procession. He made the periya purANam as the twelfth thirumurai.
thiruth thoNdar purANam is the only work available that was written by chEkkizAr. After writing the periya purANam chEkkizAr involved himself completely the lives of the 63 saints along with other devotees and finally reached the sweet feet of Lord Shiva.
Other names of chEkkizAr:
aruN mozith thEvar (original name)
thoNdar chIr paravuvAr
uththama chOza pallavar

NAMANANDHI ADIKAL NAYAMAAR.

In the kingdom where the river kAvEri flows through beautifully was the town Emap pERUr. The town where the houses wear the mango leaves indicating good deeds, the fumes of vEdic rites that forms the clouds, the red lotuses in the pond that look like the flame in the rite with surrounding ghee offering, was heard echoing the knowledge of the vEdas. In the tradition of vEdic chanters who live in the unique shaivite discipline, came the ardent devotee of snake ornated Lord by name n^amin^an^dhi adikaL. He was like the fire that is grown with truth of the vEdas, firmly believed in the sacredness of Holy Ash, stood blissfully in holding up the feet of the Black-throated Lord who sings music.
He with a great eagerness to salute the Lord of thiruvArUr went there. He worshiped the only hold for the devotees the Lord who has the feathers decorated matted hair who has taken abode at the ant-hill. Very many days he spent saluting the the Supreme who smashed the three cities into heaps of ash. Then he went to serve the Lord at thearaneRi abode. With his heartful of love, mind full of mahEsha he prostrated many times the Lord and stood up in the interest of lighting the lamps thus serving the Kindling flame. By then the time was already evening, and he went to a nearby house to ask for some ghee for the lamps. The house he entered happened to be a house of a Jain. The people in the house mocked at him saying while the God Himself had the fire in His hand why unnecessarily he needed to put the light. No ghee was available if he wanted he could pour the water form the pond to light the lamps, they laughed in the ignorance of half shuttered realization. n^AyanAr felt bad, left to the temple and cried to the Lord.
There rose a voice ordering him to shed the sorrow and pour the pond water in the lamps and lit them. Praising the Lord who has the Sun, Moon and fire as the Three eyes, he brought the water from the pond and put it on the cotton plaited thread. With the world wondering, vengents whispering down, the White-Ash smeared Lord blessing, he lit the lamp that glowed till the dawn. He lit the complete sets of lamps the same way to illuminate the abode fantastically. While the absolute Source of energy is with, what other source could be hurdle ?! As he had the principle of worshiping the Lord Shiva at his house everyday, he left the same night to his town and did the worship. The next morning he returned to the temple at thiruvArUr, did all the required services inside and outside the temple with the joy of working for the Greatest Master. In the evening he decorated in his way the abode of the Light with luminant lamps. This continued for many days. By then because of the great love and deed of dhandiyadigaL(1) Jains lost their faith and left the area. The shaivite discipline prospered. The king donated and organized many endowments for the service of the Lord.
The festival town of thiruvArUr geared up for celebrating the auspicious paN^guni uththiram(2). The Street Dancing Lord with the inseparable shakti on the victorious Bull came blessing all the way to thirumaNalaias part of the festivities. There the crowd that mingled with the chanting of the traditionless Lord's fame was without any caste and creed barriers. What barrier, caste, creed, age, sex, race, language or any form of life, could be there while thepashupati is there to salvage every creature. Along with them our n^AyanAr praised the God of nature. He returned home and was sleeping in the darkness of night on the outside corridor of the house. His wife came out and enquired why he did not do the Lord's worship by growing fire that night and skipped the food. When he was in the festival crowd everybody was present so the impurity followed him, he replied. He further asked his wife to bring water to bathe and then start thepUja. As she left, by the wish of God or by tiredness who knows, he slept immediately. The Lord came as if He comes to the pUja, and enlightened him that those who were born in the thiruvArUr belong to His squad. The devotee woke up shivering and with realization. He felt bad for not doing the night worship of the Ultimate Source. Did the worship, told the wife the happenings and rushed to thiruvArUr in the wake of dawn. As he entered thiruvArUr he saw everybody living there to have the form of the Stain-throated Gold like bodied God. He, fearful, fell down on the ground saluted them and rejoiced.
He saw the scene changed again with people back in their normal form. He begged for excuse from the Lord who showers the grace, who shines in everything. He lived doing a great splendid service to the God. He served the devotees of the Ash smeared Lord with many needful things with a rising fame and got praised in the thEvAram ofthirun^Avukkarachu n^AyanAr(3). His service to the Lord, to His truthful slaves continued as he was praised by the sage of service. With the world praising his service he entered the luminance of the shade of the Lord of thiruvArUR. Let the thirst to serve the hara in spite of the non-conducive circumstances stay in the mind.
WITH WARMEST RESPECTFUL REGARDS

What is a Pagan? Are we Pagans?

A Pagan is a person who believes that everything has a soul or spirit. This is called Animism, and all Pagan religions share this belief. Rivers, animals, rocks, trees, land are all filled with there own unique spirits for people who are Pagans. Christians believe that only humans have souls or spirits, Pagans see the divine spirit in all life.

Is there more than One Pagan Religion?
There are hundreds of different Pagan Religions. Some of the best known Pagan religions are Buddhism, Shintoism, Native American Religions, Hinduism, Taoism, Wicca, Druidism, Asatru, Shamanism, Neo- Paganism and Eclectic Paganism.

Is Paganism a Cult?
No, Paganism is a major World Religion, with many branches. More people on Earth are Pagans than any other faith. Some Pagan groups may be classified as cults, just like some Christian groups are cults.

The Christian groups headed by Jim Jones at Jonestown, who committed mass suicide, and the followers of David Koresh at Waco, Texas are both considered cults, but they were once considered Christian denominations. Any religious or spiritual tradition can have cults in its midst, that does not mean that the entire tradition is a cult. Wackos and religious charlatans come in all religions, denominations, and races.

The word Cult is often used as a slur word to disparage someone else's religious beliefs. It is frequently used derisively toward non-white or indigenous folk cultures and their beliefs.

Are Pagans Devil Worshippers?
No, Pagans do not worship the Devil or Satan. Pagans do not believe in the Devil, he is part of the Judeo-Christian Religions and mythology. Most Devil worshipping groups are not Pagan, because they are centered on a Judeo-Christian supernatural being, namely Satan. These Devil Worshippers are a sect of Christianity, even though Christianity does not want to claim them.

Their focus is on opposing the mainstream Christian God and honoring the Devil, neither of these beings are part of Paganism. There is a tradition that calls itself Satanist. Satanists are not devil worshippers. They do not believe in god or the devil or any force outside themselves and other living creatures. They believe they can control their lives without the need to place responsibility on a higher power of any kind. Devil worshippers on the other hand sometimes do claim to be Satanists. This leads to lots of confusion.

People often confuse the Occult with Pagan Religion, this is a mistake, and they are very different things. Many religions, including; Pagan, Non-Pagan, Christianity and Judaism have occult aspects, many do not.

Are Pagans Witches?
Some Pagans are Witches, some are not. Many Pagan groups do not practice Witchcraft. Wiccans are a type of Pagan Witches; there are also Dianic Witches, Green Witches, and other types of Pagan Witches. There are also Christian Witches, many of these people are practicing Christian, but also practice Witchcraft. Santeria is a South American religion that is a blend of Voodoo, Witchcraft and Christianity.

What do I need to be a Pagan?
A love of Nature, and a commitment to live in harmony with the Earth and Her creatures. You need to feel in your heart that it is where your own spirituality is leading you. Paganism is for Pagans, only you know if you are a Pagan in your heart.

What is a Pagan Ritual?
A Religious or Pagan Ritual is anything that focuses your spiritual energy. A church service is a ritual, so is a wedding, or a funeral, or a Hopi Sun Dance. Humans have created rituals since the beginning of time. Ritual is the way humans express their connection with divinity and each other.

There are many kinds of Pagan Ritual, personal rituals you do by yourself, full moon rituals, by yourself or with a group. There are blessing rituals for a new home, or for children, or for healing, or cleansing. There are protection ritual, and banishing rituals, to name a few. Your Grandmother may have placed a horseshoe over the door; this is a popular form of simple protection ritual that is rooted in Pagan tradition. Or throwing salt over your shoulder if it is spilled, so as not to attract bad luck.

For Wiccans and Neo-Pagans there are some basic Ritual Traditions that you may have heard about. Many Pagan Ritual begin by honoring the Earth and the 4 directions, as well as the elements the directions represent, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. A circle is cast and blessed with water, smoke, salt and light in honor of these elements. Rituals often include, singing, chanting, dancing, drumming, poetry and hymns to the Goddess or Gods. Some Rituals are very complex and are almost like a play; other rituals are very simple and flow with the energy of the group.

Who is the Pagan God?
There is no single Pagan God. Some Pagan faiths, like Hinduism and Eclectic Paganism have many Gods and Goddesses. Some Pagan Traditions like Taoism have no Gods or Goddesses. Some popular deities with contemporary American Pagans are Artemis-Diana, Inanna, the GreenMan, Isis, Brigid, Rhiannon, Apollo, Kore, and Demeter.

What is a Goddess?
The first deities humans worshipped were Goddesses. A Goddess is the female creative and life giving forces of the Universe and much more.

Do Pagans Pray?
Yes, many Pagans pray and many connect with the divine in other ways. Many meditate as a form of prayer, other drum as a form of prayer; others chant, sing or dance. Some dedicate each task they perform during the day, to the Goddess. Throughout human history people have spoken to their Gods or Goddesses through many different kinds of "prayer".

When a Muslim prays, they bow toward Mecca, when a Christian prays they cross themselves, when a Buddhist prays they chant or make a sand Mandela, when a Pagan prays, they may be chanting, doing ritual, hugging a tree or picking up litter on a beach, as a way of connecting with their Goddesses or Gods.

How do you become a Pagan?
You look into your heart and ask if it is the right path for you. Some people are born Pagans, even though they do not even know the word, others are born into Pagan cultures, and many others become Pagan when they search their hearts for a connection with their Spirits.

To become a practicing Pagan, you must learn to look at Nature and begin to honor her ways and cycles. Many new Pagans begin by celebrating the phases of the Moon. This can be as simple as taking the time each evening to gaze at the Moon and sing softly to yourself. Make up the words as you go along, you will be amazed at how easy it is. Really look at plants, and your cat, sit quietly and see if you can feel their energy. The first steps to becoming a Pagan are becoming aware of the magic of the natural world around you. The second step is do a small personal ritual and self-blessing that celebrates your entering the Pagan Path.

What do Pagans do?
Pagans try to live in harmony with the Earth and raise their children to honor the ways of Nature. Pagans strive to strengthen their understanding of this miracle called Life. Pagans go to school, go to work, pay taxes, clean house, garden, raise kids, make art, watch TV, do not watch TV, eat at McDonalds, do not eat at McDonalds and love or hate computers, just like everyone else. Pagans are just folks who have a different religion, a Nature Religion that teaches them to honor all life. Pagans honor their Goddesses and Gods with the same faith that non-pagans have their own religions.

Where are the Pagan Churches?
There are thousands of Pagan Temples around the world. Most Eclectic Pagans, Wiccans and Native American Religions do not worship in churches. Because they are Nature Religions. Religious Rituals are often held outside, in parks, fields, wooded groves, at a beach or lake, anywhere that promotes a connection with Nature. Large public rituals are often held in auditoriums, small rituals are often held in people's homes. There are also Virtual Temples and Altars online.

Why do people say bad things about Pagans?
People often ridicule what they do not understand. Fundamental Christianity seems especially threatened by Pagans, although I do not know why. Many hateful, ridiculous, and untrue things about Paganism have been said by Fundamentalist preachers, who obviously were not paying any attention to Jesus message. Hate and prejudice were never a part of Jesus teachings. Hollywood has also created many damaging and untrue stereotypes to sell movie tickets. Funny, no one believes Robo-Cop is real, but people seem anxious to believe any absurd thing said about Pagans or Witches. (NO "The Craft" was not realistic or true at all!!!).

Can a Christian be a Pagan too?
Many cultures have a blend of Christian and Pagan beliefs within their Christian Religions. Irish Catholicism, Mexican, Italian and South American Catholicism all have incorporated many Pagan beliefs and customs into their Christian faith. I am sure there are many others, but these are the ones I am most familiar with. The crowning of Mary on May Day is from the older Pagan custom of "Crowning the May Queen" as a representative of the Goddess.
Religious belief is a very personal thing; it is the most personal thing about you. How you express your spirituality is no ones business but your own and what you believe is between you and your higher power. Your truth is in your own heart, honor it and do not let anyone limit it.

How do I start learning about being a Pagan?
You look into your heart and begin asking yourself questions about what is sacred. The essence of Paganism is within you, many of the answers are there. Hopefully, this group will enable you to learn more about Paganism. Start with remembering to be grateful to the earth for sustaining your life and giving you food.

What can I do if my family or friends think it is bad to be a Pagan?
You can try to educate them. If this does not work, quietly develop a Pagan heart.
You can begin by trusting your own perceptions. Then honor Nature and learn her ways. You may not be able to buy books or go to public rituals, but you can watch a small patch of grass for 10 minutes and really see it, all true power comes through understanding.
You can gaze at the night sky and feel the power of the Moon, and get to know Her phases.
You can learn about herbs, and the environment.
You can practice sewing, so when you can have ritual clothes, you will be able to create beautiful ones.
You can look at National Geographic's at the Library and learn about Pagan societies and beliefs around the world.
You can go to museums and see ancient Goddess & God figures.
You can study about Native American customs.
You can pick up litter as a way to be a Pagan honoring Mother Earth.
You can meditate.
You can collect pictures of Nature.
You can soak in a tub and do a private ritual in your mind, as you bless the water for its life giving essence.
You can notice if the plants or animals around you need food or water.
You can thank the Earth for each bit of food you eat.
You can learn to recognize what Nature is saying by listening.

Regardless of what your friends or family believe, you can practice your faith in small, simple, healing ways that will create a powerful spiritual energy within you and strengthen your connection with the Earths Wisdom and Spirituality.

Thanks & Regards,

Dear all well wishers,
Sivayanamaha.
We are very fortunate to remember four of the Great Nayanmaars on the very auspicious day of Vaikasi Mulam5thJun2012.This happens to be the Mukthi attaining day of all these four Nayanmaars. Please note that Saint GnaSambandar history lengthens to Ten volumes and every next episode can be read clicking the<NEXT> on the storeys last line and similarly all these stories are told in video cum audio in six parts and all can be accessed through clicking links on the side too.
With respect to other three Saints also similar video links are furnish

thirunyAnachampan^dha n^AyanAr - part I (Miraculous milk and cymbals)

While all the other children in the world cry to get their needs, one child cried to get the Parent of the world; while other children were in the complete dependence on their parents, this child elucidated to all the people the independence from worldly bonds; while others' fumbling speech gave happiness to their parents, it with its flowing fascinating words made splendid hymns those make the entire world - whoever is blessed with interest - blissful; while others were directed by the elders what to do and what not, it, elder in knowledge, kindled a huge population not only its contemporaries but people for so many centuries to meditate on the marvelous luminous mahEsha ; It lighted the hearts with the vEdic knowledge and shaivite philosophy driving away the half-cooked faiths; It was a container of the unlearnt knowledge of the Truth; It was saluted by great scholars and elderly people; It was an outstanding prodigy. Let the highly graceful God forgive for calling that reverend exclaimable devotee thirunyAnachampan^dhar perumAn - the child of God as it.
In the ancient chOza kingdom is the town chIrkAzi situated which was renowned with twelve names to adorn it and where the Lord with His consort gauri came on a boat to bless and reside during a deluge. That prospering land was blooming with flowers as well as floral tributing devotees by the brightness of whose smeared Holy ash the town was glowing even in the night like the day. With the seekers who offer the ghee at the yAga fire, it was fertile with palm trees whose ripe fruits like the ghee, flow through the leaves to flow into the fields red like fire with the lotus flowers. In that gracious town lived in the nice tradition of chanting vEdas belonging to kavuNiyar ancestry the blessed shivapAda hR^idayar whose great penance benefited the entire human community. His better half bhagavathiyAr was well matched in quality and love to him. He was worried for the ignorant world which forgetting the holy shaivam was lured in the religions that does not lead to obtaining the grace of God, enlightenment, liberation.
By the mercy that the Lord showed on this world he got a child with his wife that is a pearl of shaivam. The wonderful child was born to emphasize the truth of vEdas, uphold the discipline of sanAtana dharma, spread the fragrance of shaivam, centralize devotion in music, take the high philosophies of scriptures to the masses, show the world the grace of the Lord shiva thus putting it in peace and happiness. Happy at the good omans that beautified the time the good people of the town were celebrating the birth of the child. They did the first ten days rituals for the newly born kid as said in the holy texts. His father, the person having the feet of Lord in his heart, feeling unworthy of all other ornaments put the Holy ash as the protection mark on the child's forehead. The child grew up with the happiness of the kith and kin.
He was three years old when one morning he was adamantly crying to go with his father to the pond where he was going to take bath before doing the worship. Unable to convince the child he took him along to the pond. Seating him on a bank he went into the pond and did all the rituals saluting the Lord of thiruththONipuram . When he had a dip in the water, the child worried at not seeing his father cried loudly looking at the tower of the Lord of chIrkAzi "ammE appA" (mother! father !). The Parents of the Universe who are just love in wholesome, appeared on the Bull there. Giving a graceful look at the weeping child the compassionate Father told the Mother to feed the child with Her holy breast milk. Having blessed so by the Lord the caring Mother who gave birth to the worlds took the milk from Her breast in a golden bowl fed the child the milk with the knowledge of unexplorable shiva, sweeping the tears of the child. With the Parents of every creature thus blessing the child became the son of God and the admirable chivanyAna champan^dhar . He got the knowledge of prosperous thinking of the Asutoshas feet, the knowledge of liberation from the incarnation cycle, the knowledge of unparalleled art, the knowledge of the Truth in that situation. He rose realizing that 'everything is made by the Isha only' and the greatness of devotees, to smash the ego of the ignorants who think always self-centered.
The shivapAda hR^idayar after completing the rituals saw the young sun standing with great feeling. That honest disciplined father angrily asked, who gave him the milk food, and took a stick. Raising his leg, with the tears of unlimited joy surfacing in his eyes, with a hand pointing to the beautiful Lord with the pretty pArvati , beginning with the first vowel (o) of holy vEdas, starting to sing with the holy ear of the Lord that would hear and bless the hymn, he sang the thiruppadhikam - "thOdudaiya cheviyan" ( "One with ornated ear" ) stating that, "He is the Lord who did like this to me". In that thirup padhikan to indi'ate that even if the people who did mistakes, when surrender to God they would get His grace, he sang the blessing of God to the daemon rAvaNan when he sang pleasing music and saluted after being suppressed under the mount kailaash as a result of his egoful try to lift the mount. He showed that the Lord blesses only those who worship by saying the inability of brahmA and vishNu to reach the Lord as a bird and pig respectively when they tried trusting their own strength, but where blessed when after the disgusting failure, realizing the supremacy of Lord they tried to salute Him with love. He admonished the world about the religions -Jainism and Budhdhism, which without realizing the God take the self-centered philosophies that they would lead only to misery. He sang in the last hymn the fruit of praising the glory of God ( thiruk kadaik kAppu ).
The dEvas and heavenly people showered the rain of flowers. The sound hara echoed in the sky. Everywhere the praise of the Lord was heard. The Lord proceeded to His abode at thiruth thONipuram. Seeing the Thief who stole his heart going inside the abode the small magnificent child over the stream of eagerness and love followed. His blessed father though unable to see the Lord understood the grace of God and the happenings from the meaning of the hymns. He followed with excitement and love his wonderful child. The chanters of the vEdas who came there were astonished to note the event. Going to the abode where the Lord is with the consort on the boat the prodigy said that the Lord who blessed him was there with umA . When he started from the temple prostrating to the Lord his father took him on his shoulders. There was an ocean of devotees who praised their boon thirunyAnachampan^dhar who at the age of three having blessed recited remarkable songs. With the ruby like lips still wet with the nectar he ate that child of honey like words entered his home amongst the thunder of drums and shells. The night he spent completely reminiscing the Lord. In the next Sunrise he went to the temple to salute the Parents of thiruth thONipuram who poured the love on him.
He went in the eagerness to salute the Lord's abode thirukkOlakkA . He praised the Essence of the vEdas with the hymn madaiyil vALaikaL pAya . When he was singing the thirup padhikam clapping his tiny little hands, the kind Father caring for the bud like child of strong love gave a pair of golden cymbals(percussion plates) with His holy five letters engraved in it. Accepting His grace by his head the young great completed doing thiruk kadaik kAppu to the padhikam. The distinguished musicians of the heaven like thumburu, n^Aradhar praised the child. All the devotees saluted the blessed beacon like child. Unable to bear the young feet walking when he was returning back to chIrkAzi his father took him over his shoulders. He went to the temple of thiruth thONipuram to salute the Lord after reaching chIrkAzi. Then the mother who gave birth to that boon of the world, along with the devotees came and saluted her loving son - the saint thirunyAna champan^dhar. The entire town was pleased to salute and see the superior devotee.

thirunIlanakka nAyanAr

In the chOza kingdom is the town thiruch chAththa maN^gai. In that town hailing from the tradition of singing vEdhAs, born the lover of the shri nIlakaNTha by name n^Ila n^akkanAr. Knowing the vEdhAs he derived that the wisdom is to serve the River crowned Lord and His devotees and he followed it with a loving heart. He would do everyday with deep humbleness the worship of Lord shiva. Then he would host feast for the devotees and do all the needful for them. Catching strong this discipline he went in the way of the Perfect Lord.
One auspicious Adhirai(1) day after performing the prayers as said in the worship scriptures at home, he went along with his loving wife, with all the substances for the worship in abundance to the temple of the Lord of ayavan^thi. He offered the Lord the flowers and other holy substances and prostrated in front of Him. Completing the pUja with an unsaturated love he circumambulated the abode and was meditating with the Holy Five Letters. At that time a spider slipped on the Sound bodied Lord. n^AyanAr's companian in life who was standing nearby, like a mother who blows off the spider on a young child, blew to drive away the insect. She was loving so much the Lord that she did it quite instantly. n^AyanAr appalled by his wife's deed, asked her in a shivering voice, what she did. She replied that as the spider fell on the Lord she had to blow the spider off. n^Ilan^akkar said it was against the Agamic teachings, she should have used some other means than blowing from mouth as saliva could fall on the Lord. He made consecretion worships to plead for forgivence for her deed. He left his wife there in anger.
The Sun went down in the West horizon. n^AyanAr went asleep in his house. His wife who did the act of love on Lord, unable to refute n^AyanAr's order stayed back in the temple. In that night the Lord who is pleased more with love than with rituals, appeared in his dream. That Painless Lord showed His body and said, " Look ! This is where she blew and this part is quite alright whereas the other side is swelling because of the spider". Who knows the act of God who is beyond body or form shows up a swelling in order to help His loving devotee !! trirun^Ilan^akkar shocked by what the Lord told, praised Him, danced and yelled. The next dawn he rushed to the abode of the Lord of ayavan^thi fell down on His rescuing feet, adored Him and brought his loving wife back home. He continued his service to the Lord and the devotees with complete love.
Hearing the marvelous songs of thiunyAnachampan^dhar(2) and his marvels, n^Ilan^akkar developed a great wish to see him and serve him. He got the information that champan^dhar along with thirun^IlakaNda yAzpANar(3) and a group of devotees coming towards thiruch chAththa maN^gai worshiping many abodes. Hearing that boon like message he decorated the way with flowers and leaves. He went forward dancing and singing His praise to welcome the young saint. He hosted the devotees in his house. In the Sunset thirunyAnachampan^dhar requested thirun^Ilan^akkar to give a place of yAzpANar and his wife. Our great n^AyanAr gave the place where the sacred fire is grown in vEdhic worship, to that devotional music couple. The falseness of birth dependent humiliation of people was thwarted off. When people have dedicated themselves to that Raceless Lord , what is there in between them to consider high or low ? The ritual fire at that central hall where yAzpANar along with his wife resided glowed very bright.
thirunyAnachampan^dhar sang in his hymn mentioning the great devotee thirun^Ilan^akkar. Later when champan^dhar left the town, unable to break his order n^AyanAr stayed back. But he lived praising His grace and the marvel of champan^dhar. At the time of champan^dhar's wedding he played major role in the rituals (pouring the rice that is fried in the ritual fire). He saluting the Lord's perumaNam merged in the shiva jyOti that appeared in the wedding celebration to reside under the Feet that is praised by holy scriptures. Let the service and equality in the vision of this great thirun^Ilan^akka n^AyanAr stay in mind.

thirunIlakaNda yAzpANar

The town where Lord muruga worshiped the Black-Throated Lord - thiru erukkaththam puliyUr(1) was the town of this great musician thirun^IlakaNtar. He brought the sound of animals, chirp of birds, rhythm of rivers and song of trees in his classical string instrument called yAz. He was called yAzpANar(yAz musician). He mastering the play on the instrument praised as one of the best instruments in the ancient thamiz literatures, devoted his music to that music loving mR^ityuJNjaya. He went to a lot of abodes in the chOza kingdom and anointed the Sound of praNavam with the honey of his music. He then arrived in the Lord's own kingdom - madhurai.
Tuning the instrument and with the mind tuned to praise the limitless fame of the Lord of thiruAlavAy, he opened the dam of his music at the entrance of the temple that immersed the Lord of that abode. He played the tunes that suit the timings with a proficiency unique in nature. The Lord who gave the three thamiz, pleased by the euphonic worship of yAzpANar ordered to all the devotees of the town in their dream to bring him to the altar. Welcomed by the devotees the master of yAz went to the presence of the Master of all music. Realising the service he should do the splendid musician played out his ecstatic expression of worshiping the Lord in the blessed instrument. He sang the Lord's holy deeds of dancing in bliss with the praise of Universal bodies, destruction of three cities, demolishion of the ignorance in His presence, Giganticity which was unmeasurable for hari and ayan, Simplicity that blesses easily one who surrenders - in his sakOtayAz.
Enjoying the dedication of the devotee, by the blessing of God there arose a voice to ask the devotees to place a short bench for him so that the wonderful instrument does not get affected from the chilness of the earth. The devotees placed humbly the bench on which the musician who propitiated the Lord sat along with his instrument to serve the Lord shiva with his superior spring of music.(2) Then praising the Lord of mEru bow in many abodes he reached thiruvArUr. He sang the Its Grace that is much superior than even the love of mother and the which kicked even the death to bless the surenderred, at the entarnce. He got the way through the northern gate into the abode for his enchanting music of devotion. He prostrated to the thirumUlattAnar and did his service in the stimulation. Performing in His ArUr for many days he proceeded through many holy places to reach in chIrkAzi. Impressed by the marvelous hymns of the child who called pArvati - paramEshvara to quench its thirst of knowledge, he stayed with that prodigy thirunyAnachampan^dhar(3). He accompanied by his wife used to play champan^dhar's words of wisdom saluting his devotion in his heart stealing music with complete dedication. They followed the saint like his hymns wherever he went for the rest of their life. They along with champan^dhar got the place under the Greatest Musician's feet in the place perumaNam. Let n^IlakaNda yAzpAnar's service in composing very nice music for the Sound bodied Lord's praises stay in the mind.

In the life stream river kAveri flowing chOza kingdom is the blooming town pUmpukalUr. This is the place where the thamiz yOgi thirun^Avukkarachar(1) attained shiva samAdhi. The town where the humming of the bees goes to the background as the chanting of the holy vEdhas in the rhythm and sweetness comes to foreground; The drops that bud on the lotus flowers are less appraciated as the drops of joy that buds on the lotus faces of devotees look more pleasent.
In that pretty town came the devotee with beautiful heart muruganAr. In the family that lives in praising the vEdhic salutations to that Three eyed Beauty, he was born. Excelling in the knowledge, he had a heart that melt very easily for the Flame like Lord. n^AyanAr whose name is beauty wanted to beautify the Supreme Beauty with beautiful fragrant flawless flowers. In that great austerity he brought flowers to ornate the matted hair of the Lord that is boundless.
Getting up before the Sun sees the day, with clean heart and body, with His praise in thoughts and tongue, would bring the various wonderful flowers. The flowers of the forest and that from the hills, the flowers from the ponds or from the creepers, they would be present in different different baskets and of course his lotus heart would be there for the Lord - ever fresh. He would then select the good flowers that is flawless to ornate the blooming form of the Easily pleased. He made garlands out of them, floral crowns with them, made strings of flowers and the seperate flowers too that decorate the Heart stealing Lord in many differnt pleasing fashion. The Lord of varthamAnIchcharam whose feet are softer than the patals of rose enjoyed the service of this sincere slave.
With the flowers for that Floral feet in hand and the wisdom of all the holy scriptures that is the Holy Five Letters in his lips, he drove away all other dirty smells of material pleasures. Such a great devotee would get the company of someother great devotee. He was given the boon of being the friend of the prodigy who called the Lord on the Bull to thwart the ignorance of the masses. That splendid thirunyAnachampan^dhar(2) along with the old sage of valiant words thirun^Avukkarachar stayed in his place on their visit to pUmpukalUr. muruga n^AyanAr took part in the grand wedding celebrations of thirunyAnachampan^dhar and stayed under the floral feet of Lord shiva through the flame that appeared in perumaNam by the prayer of thirunyAnachampan^dhar. Let the relentless service of muruga n^AyanAr in worshipping the konRAi crowned Lord stay in the mind.

Dear all well wishers,
Sivayanamaha.
We are very fortunate to remember the above Saint who sang the SivaPuraanam consisting 95 lines in Tamil.Life sketch from birth to death of all these human bodies are narrated in that.Hailed as Thiruvasagam for which the entire universe will be liking it.(In Tamil there is a saying that 'திருவாசகத்திற்கு உருகாதார் ஒரு வாசகத்திற்கும் உருகார்    '
We will listen to Him now and I feel such celebrations of chanting the whole version of His sayings are done quite often all over the world called Mutrodal.Fully chanting all stanzas of the entire book.Shree Davids way of narrating Saint Manikkavasagar by திருவண்ணாமலை Saint Arunagiris also furnished at the end thru a link.

mANikka vAchakar, hearing this name the devotees just think of the love that is pure and no limits set, taking the human form with its expression of tears continuously budding on the lotus face expressing the softness of the heart, the words that were not coined but dragged out in the flood of love that emerges from a broken dam on seeing the Dancing Lord. He inspired the spirits of the people of the thamiz speaking land very deeply to experience by loving the sweetness of the Unexplorable Supreme. This great saint who developed the spiritual and religious upliftment is revered as one of the four samayak kuravar (religious guides).

manikavasagar picture

Manikkavasagar becoming the chief minister

In the pANdiya kingdom which was ruled by the great God Himself as rAja saundhara pANdiyan, near the capitalmadhurai is the town thiruvAdhavUr were this great one was born. By the time he was sixteen years old he had well learnt, mastering in the philosophies and the scriptures. He outstood in the love for Lord shiva and service to His devotees. The jasmine need no go and advertise its fragrance to all, admirers automatically turn up to wear it on their head. The pANdiya king arimardhanan realizing his talent and discipline made him the prime minister in his court giving him title thennavan biramarAyan. He guided the governance in the righteous path to the prosperity of the land, people and their minds. Still his mind was seeking an intellectual guide who would show in clear light the blissful path to the Truth.

Manikavasagar meeting the Guru

The king heard that high quality horses were on sale in the coast of the chOza kingdom. He sent the prime ministerthiruvAdhavUrar with lots of money to buy them. On the way vAdhvUrar reached thirup perunthuRai (AvudaiyAr kOvil). There he heard from a garden the sweet chantings hara hara. The mind that jumps to the corners of the world was lost in that. He forgot himself and like a piece of iron attracted by the magnet he went in that direction. There he saw the Lord sitting in the form of a shaivite sage under a tree elucidating the pupils, to see which Lord sages observe austerities for births ! His seeking mind was overwhelmed at the sight of the guru he was yearning for. He surrendered himself to the Holy guru's feet and pleaded him to accept him as a disciple. The God who comes voluntarily in the way of devotees to bless them enlightened him with shivenyAnam. vAdhvUrar who got the immense wealth of the Supreme knowledge outpoured the gems of hymns to the Glittering Feet of the Lord offering his body, belongings and soul. (He then sang the first thiruvAchakam song shivapurANam starting namachchivAya vAzka ). The Peerless guide heard the songs and blessed him with the name mANikka vAchakar (Gem speached). He ordered mANikka vAchakar to build an abode and disappeared.
With the money he had brought to buy horses that would fight, kill and die in the battlefields, the devotee built a marvelous temple for the Lord that would help growing the minds of the seekers in the bliss. Many days passed. The king sent people to find out what happened. His attendants reported to him the deeds of the devotee. The king was irked and sent the message to vAdhavUrar ordering him to come with the horses. mANikka vAchakar pleaded to the Playful Lord of thirupperunthuRai. The Lord assured him that He would bring the horses on the AvaNi mUlam day and passed through the gem worded saint, a gem to the king as a mark of assurance. The prime minister mANikka vAchakar told the king about the arrival of the horses. The king was happy.

Endurance of Manivasagar in trusting God

The Lord probably wanted to show that patience and perseverance pays in His worship also, the horses did not arrive till day before the AvaNi mUlam day. The king got wild and arrested the prime minister. vAdhavUrar who had the mature vision that when the devotees surrendered themselves in wholeness to the God the Three eyed Lord is the center of all deeds they do. He appealed to the Lord singinganRE enRan. The God somasundara mUrthi who rides the bull of justice in His playful act made the foxes in the forest as horses, coming in the form of the lead man of the horses handed over them to the king explaining him the identification guidelines of good horses ! The Lord went off. The same night the horses again became foxes and ran all over the capital. The king lost his sense in the peak of his ire and ordered his men to torture mANikka vAchakar making him stand on the fry hot sand of the vaigai river loading him with a rock. The pained devotee with complete trust in the Lord who made the vaigai river into existence for quenching the thirst of His attendant, prayed to the Lord.

Play of God for Manikkavachakar

The Lord who stopped the furious river ga.nga in His matted hair and allowed it to flow down as a stream blessing the penance ofbhagIrathan flooded the river vaigai to grace the true love hearted devotee. The flood entered the streets of the capital. The king ordered the people to sharedly stop the deluging water by raising the banks. There was a lonely old poor lady by name vandhi (1), who practices marvelous love for the Parentless God with her simple mind and activities. To save her from getting penalized for not undertaking the king's order, the Lord came as a laborer. But where is the end for His play ! Instead of raising the banks he spoilt the work going on there and slept innocently !! The king was annoyed and beat Him with a stick. But the pain was felt by all the creatures including the king. The flooding of the river subdued and the Lord disappeared. The king realized the act of God and the glory of the saint mANikka vAchakar. He begged for the saint's pardon. The loveful vAchakar forgave the king and left the prime ministership.

The pilgrimage of saint Manikavasakar

He went to many abodes of the Lord singing It at thirupperunthuRai, uththara kOsamaNgai, thiruvArUr, thiruvidaimarudhUr, chIrkAzi, thiruvaNNAmalai, thirukkazukkunRam. Finally he reached the holy abode thillaich chiRRambalam. He got what the vEdas proclaim, "One gets bliss (amRita) here, even when he/she is alive" on seeing the heart stealing Lord who dances there to the joy of the seeing eyes. He sang many hymns on the Lord there.

Victory over buddhists

The budhdhist people who had come from Sri Lanka challenged to come for a debate on religions. With the Lord's order he took it and answered the blemishes they were trying to put on the Lord, making a dumb girl sing His Greatness and the opponents going dumb, he established the Shaivite glory. The opponents realized the truth of the spiritual science of shaivam and started worshipping the Outstanding Lord shankara. mANi vAchakars service to the Lord continued. The Lord was getting anointed with his honey like words and the pure wonderful love. The Lord wanted those gems of his hymns which could not be found a peer even the whole world is excavated to be glorified and passed to generations by generations to the world for our benefit of getting to praise the Lord in sweet loveful words easily and even the hardest of the minds getting nurtured in love reading his hymns. He oneday went to the blessed saint mANikka vAchakar, asked him to sing the complete thiruvAchakam he had composed and wrote them down. He further asked him to sing the songs of love keeping the Dancing Lord of thillai as the Hero the thirukkOvaiyAr. He wrote them also in the palm leaves book and put His seal as "As mANikka vAchakan told the Lord of thiruchchiRRambalam wrote this". He kept the script in the panychAkkara steps of the abode and vanished.

Manikkavasagar becoming shivam

The next day the priests of thillai were surprised to find the scripture on the steps of the abode with the Lord's signature. They rushed to mANikka vAchakar and appraised him about it. They saluted and asked him to explain them the philosophical explanation of the compositions. He took them to the golden hall abode of the Lord and showed the blissfully Dancing Lord and said He is the meaning of it and immersed himself in the Supreme Luminance and became One in Lord shiva. (This day was the Ani magam day - his guru pUjai day)
The history of this great saint is told in thiruvAdhavUrp purANam(2) and thiruviLaiyAdal purANam.(3) His composistions are thiruvAchakamand thirukkOvaiyAr. These hymns are praised for their simplicity, deep sense of love without losing focus in the description of things.

பின்னர் 1586 ஆம் ஆண்டு "António da Madalena" என்ற போர்சுகீசிய துறவியின் கண்ணில் பட்டது, அதை அவர் "is of such extraordinary construction that it is not possible to describe it with a pen, particularly since it is like no other building in the world. It has towers and decoration and all the refinements which the human genius can conceive of."

One of these temples—a rival to that of Solomon, and erected by some ancient Michelangelo—might take an honourable place beside our most beautiful buildings. It is grander than anything left to us by Greece or Rome, and presents a sad contrast to the state of barbarism in which the nation is now plunged என்று குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்!!

Shift your stress

The most common complaint that we hear from people is that they are anxious.  We can find one of ten people around us may be at work, at the store, where ever we go in your daily life is over stressed at any given moment for any reason.  Anxiety is the state of mind that creates stress caused chemical changes in the mind and the physical body.  Scientists agree that stress causes actual chemical changes in the brain and these changes can influence the state of your health.  The impact that stress has on our overall health is been constantly researched by scientists.  Stress could be a contributing factor in everything from backaches, colds, infections,  gastrointestinal disorders , sexual dysfunctions and so on.   We should admit that we all get anxious and get stressed at one point or the other.  There is the difference only in the level and the types of anxiety.

I would like to share my experience how I deal with anxiety or stress. The first thing to do is to try to get calm.  Worrying and panicking only makes everything worse.  Create a different state of yourself.  A simple tool I use is turning on a quiet, calming piece of music ( which ever you feel is your choice whether jazz, western, classical or instrumental ) while sitting upright in a chair, back straight and feet firmly planted on the floor. I slowly begin to breathe deeply from my belly in and out, very slowly, again and again.  Between the sounds of music and my deep breaths, I begin to feel better,  very important is that I should be present and enjoy the moment. By doing this I feel lighter and less anxious in a matter of seconds.

Breathing is a way of bringing new energy into the body.  It's clearing and cleansing.  As my breathing gets deeper I feel calmer and my anxiety begins to move further away.  Holding onto this state, I go for a shift in the visuals, may be a lift up from my working chair, or a peep through the window to instantly lift my spirits.

This stress busting method really works much more effective with the Rudraksha in my body.  As science has proved that Rudraksha has a property to calm down our emotional states.  Hence Rudraksha helps in calming down our anxiety and in addition to that it aids in clarity of thoughts,  that leads to  good decision making.  All it takes is 16 seconds to shift your energy.  Begin with just 16 seconds and change your vibration.  So if you are feeling anxious or worried and need to calm down, try these simple steps and see for yourself how breathing and  Rudraksha can change your day! And shift your stress!

Subject: The Power to Never Feel Powerless Again
healingmatri...
Send Email Send Email

In one way or another, we often feel "trapped" by life. If it weren't true, we wouldn't spend as much time as we do trying to "escape" our circumstances. We're so involved with imagining and swimming to our own Fantasy Island, we never consider this important question: what if the condition we wish to escape were only an illusion that feels real? How would such a realization change our lives?

Let's look into these questions, starting with the feeling of being "trapped." What do we know about it? For one thing, it is neither gender nor economically selective; everyone, regardless of social status, has a share of this unwanted state of self. We also know that none of us would remain feeling trapped if we had the power to change our condition. Which leads us to this finding:

We frequently feel powerless. And when we see no solution to our situation, confusion colors our considerations. Frustration grows. We feel imprisoned behind a wall of fearful expectations.

But we need not, and must not, accept a life of such limitation. We can uncover the root of this powerless feeling -- and release ourselves from it -- by discovering the nature of the illusion that creates it.

For most of us the show gets started like this: "Why did he have to do that?" or -- "Life isn't fair!" or "They took this away from me." But these reasons are not the source of our pressing stress!

First we must see that these moments are events, not powers; they are passing conditions, not prisons.  Seeing this, the real question isn't how to regain our lost power, but what is it about these events that causes us to feel powerless because of them?

Here are a few vital facts: the feeling of being powerless has nothing to do with what someone else did or didn't do or with what you did or didn't do at any point in your life regardless of your present conditions. A little detective work will prove these statements.

What's the first thing we see when we hear news that runs counter to what we want? We don't really "see" anything at all; instead our attention is seized, absorbed by a familiar negative reaction whose only wish is that the unwanted moment just go away.

This resistance acts on our consciousness as a "blinding" and binding force, so all we can "see" is our own negativity over what we wish wasn't happening! We literally "look" at what we don't want to be there.

For example, when expectations get dashed, we don't see new possibilities unfolding; all we see is the way things should have gone. We don't see what is with all of its positive possibilities; instead we see only the negative . . . what is not.

We feel powerless because we've become the captive of a mind resisting itself, an involuntary prisoner of a mind struggling to escape its own negative images. There is nothing but powerlessness in this resistance because by law whatever we resist . . . persists!

The only way to liberate ourselves from the confines of this unconscious relationship is to develop a new awareness of what it costs us to remain in its captivity.

We must ask, what kind of "power" is it to resent any moment for unfolding as it does, to wish it didn't happen? Does it change the moment in any positive way? No, it does not.

Does our pain prove that our position is right? To the contrary: the more we don't want the moment, the more we lend credibility to that moment as being overpowering. This false perception then strengthens our negative sense of self as someone being overpowered by it.

But this next insight foretells freedom: whenever we feel like a powerless captive of some condition, it's because we grabbed onto a false power to lend us strength.  Worry, fear, anger, self-loathing, self-pity . . . all negative states are a waste that waste our lives whenever we embrace their empty promise of empowerment.

By contrast, real power is knowing we already possess everything we need to succeed in any moment. Let's examine this important idea.

What good is any conditional power -- social or financial -- if, when a challenging moment comes along, we can't count on that power to be there for us? We've all seen what happens when -- due to "unscheduled changes" -- our power source is suddenly unplugged. We either collapse into powerlessness, or scramble around searching for ways to regain our base of power. Either way, we remain a captive of these reactions.

People become angry when they realize they don't possess the power they imagined. They justify this imagined loss by blaming others for it, and now their power is in being resentful.

But real power keeps us from becoming the puppet of what is unkind to others and ourselves. Real power lifts us above challenging circumstances; it shelters us from fears that want to drag us down into troubled thoughts about tomorrow. Real power is the quiet but certain understanding that everything that comes to us works for the good of us, no matter what it is.

How do we enter into relationship with such pure power? We begin with a startling insight:

Human beings have mistaken themselves as being powers unto themselves. The truth is, we are the instruments of elemental powers, high and low; and yet, our unique place in reality gives us a far greater role to play than any of these primal forces can ever hope to know. We alone are empowered to choose from all powers, potential or present which of them we will embody and serve by expression.

Although we often find ourselves feeling so -- there is no such thing as being powerless. Those who resist life -- who hate or fear unwanted changes become the instrument of a power that effectively renders them powerless to do anything but struggle.

But those who realize that the only power negative states have is to create the illusion of self-command, enter into relationship with another kind of power altogether. And this new awareness, like the power it grants, is failsafe.

We can practice this true, new power anytime we want its strength and safety. We start by remembering that in any moment of heartache, worry, or fear, we need not suffer what comes with resisting our sense of being powerless because ours is the power to choose what we will and will not give our power to. The following examples reveal this new and higher possibility:

Rather than live with the pain of a thousand regrets, we can realize that no number of visits to a painful past can change it. The light of this new awareness empowers us to start over now.

Rather than look to anxious thoughts to help us through some fearful situation, we can see that anxiety serves fear -- so how can it free us from it? The light of this new awareness empowers us to let go of both these imposters.

Rather than defend our mistakes by excusing them, we can understand that our refusal to learn the lesson at hand ensures we will meet that lesson again, along with its misery. The light of this new awareness empowers us to accept what life would teach us, and the truth sets us free.

Negative states want to convince us we are powerless in the face of what frustrates us. But we have seen that this false perception is actually produced by a dark state that would have us turn to it for the power we need to make things right.

We are learning we can do something radically new: rather than give ourselves over to the habitual reaction of resisting the moment for our fear of it, we remember the truth that sets us free: ours is the power to live from the Power of our choice. Said slightly differently: we are created with the power to surrender our sense of powerlessness and, in exchange for this sacrifice, realize a life without stress and strife.

Whenever we have a pain or a problem that seems greater than we can deal with, it doesn't mean we really are without power. These moments are actually "wake-up calls" -- invitations to remember our relationship with an indwelling Divine order of ourselves that is the same as our True Nature.

This new action on our part, this conscious realignment born of higher self-awareness, is the same as our rescue. Our sense of being powerless is replaced by releasing the misunderstanding over who we really are.

Now the words, "Let go and let God" take on new meaning. We now understand what must be done to let the Divine Light do for us what we can't: to know true power, we must release all claims upon it.

Surrounded with the fields where the bunches of bananas sleep on the green leaf bed sheets is the town perumizalai in the mizalai kingdom. The town was rich with people whose knowledge of the Truth brought chastity to their hearts, which was the reflection of the white Holy Ash on their forehead. The head of the town peru mizalaik kuRumbanAr was the head of devotion and slave of the slaves of Matted haired Lord. The man of exclaimable wisdom utilized his knowledge in serving the servants of the Serpent clad shankara even when they did not explicitly ask for it. He was looking forward to serve them; It was the pleasure he was looking for; it was his prime duty. The two feet of the Lord that are softer then the petals of the rose resided on the lotus of his heart enjoying the fragrance of his love.
Host of many admirable characters he hosted the devotees of the Lord holding Dreadful axe, providing them limitless food and wealth. Still he was humble and pleasant to those unattached devotees. The selfless ceaseless service introduced him to the great devotee who asks everything only to the God, sun^dhara mUrthi n^AyanAr(1). Knowing that it is the association with the good that evolves into the liberation, he held that great devotee in his thoughts whose thoughts always pondered around the paramEshwar. Following that splendid devotee he attained the eight great powers. For him above all those powers were the peerless Holy five letters and chanting them with the tears of joy rolling down raising up the devotion. His love, yoga and service continued unperturbably.
Meanwhile the slave of the Beautiful Lord, sun^dhara mUrthi n^AyanAr went to the capital of chEra kingdom koduN^gOLUr ruled by chEramAn perumAL n^AyanAr(2). sun^dharar by the splendid blessings of the Lord of thiruvanychaikkaLam, got the white elephant to come to the Lord's abode thirukkayilai . The great perumizalaik kuRumba n^AyanAr who had wonderable spiritual vision and wisdom felt this great event in his heart. When his eyelike sun^dharar perumAn is proceeding to the great Mount, he did not want to stay on the earth. He wanted to reach that blissful place that day itself by yOga. With the four karaNam s coming together in absoluteness of good knowledge, the air proceeding strictly in the brahma n^Adi to the center of the skull, with the secret door opening there, n^AyanAr reached ahead the thirukkayilai to reside in the Eternal feet of the Lord shiva. Let the splendid yogic wisdom of the perumizalaik kuRumba n^AyanAr, got by serving the Lord and Its devotees stay in the mind.

The next episode of this Gurupuja appearing tomorrow will have a long page as Two of the Nayanmaars Sundarar &Seramaan Perumaal reaching the Abode of Shiva on Swathi Star from Kerala.  Our Awwaiyaar also is supposed to have reached on a same time to Kailash duly taken by Lord Vinayakar.

Dear all,
Sivayanamaha.
As usual we see the Nayanmaars Gurupuja due on 10thAug.2012 as follow.
Now we have few of these Nayanmaars life history in Tamil lanuage as done by ShreeArumugaNavlar of SriLanka a great scholar.

The history of Moorthy Nayanar

pANdiya kingdom was famous for developing the literature in thamiz by having chaN^gam.madhurai was the capital of the kingdom with huge buildings and prosperity. It has the gigantic temple of sun^dharEshwarar in the center of the city, which housed the thamiz chaN^gam.
In the merchant tradition of that magnificent city came the marvelous devotee mUrthiyAr. For the Lord who has sandal like body, he undertook the service of providing sandal everyday without any break. Then the vaduka king from the north killed the pANdiya king in the battle and captured the kingdom. As he followed the jainism and practised intolerance, he troubled and tortured the true devotees of Lord Shiva. Inspite of the heavy hurdles put by the horror hearted king, mUrthiyAr continued the service to the satisfaction without pause. The determination and dedication of the devotee drowned the devilish acts of the king. Irked by this he blocked all the ways through which mUrthiyAr can get the sandal. mUrthiyAr couldn't get the sandal required for the service. Disappointed but not going down in the determination he ground his hands instead of sandal on the stone that is used for grinding. With the skin pealed, bones and nerves coming out, with blood flowing out like the love that flows in his heart, he continued. (Is he grinding the source of reincarnation !!). The Lord not bearing this, raised the sound, "Out of the determination of love you did this, don't continue this ! The king who brought these troubles will be dead soon. Then you rule the kingdom and reach our world". Shocked and surprised mUrthiyAr stood up. Like the sorrows disappear in the presence of the blissful Lord, his wounds and pain disappeared and he became as bright as the Sun.
The king who never knew holiness died and reached the place he deserved , the Hell. The next morning the ministers were worried as the king died without leaving any offspring to rule the country. So they decided to send an elephant, eyes tied, with a garland to select the new king. They worshiped and sent the elephant eyes tied. It roamed around the city and came near the tower of the temple. Meanwhile mUrthiyAr decided as it was Gods order, he will take up the service of ruling the kingdom and came out of the temple, stood near the tower. It was the picture of mighty saluting the magnificent when the majestic elephant saluted mUrthi n^AyanAr, garlanded him, took him on its head as he had the feet of God on his head. The entire city roared with instruments sounding with the pleasure of the people. The rising of the sun of mUrthiyAr over the mountain of the elephant drove away the darkness of fear in their mind. The ecstatic procession reached the palace.
mUrthiyAr said to the ministers and courtmen, "If the fragrance of shaivism spread then I am ready to rule the country". All of them agreed it as a boon. He further said that even if he becomes the king he would have holy ash as the sandal, holy ornaments of devotees as the valuable ornaments of the king and the matted hair as the crown. The lusture of outside beauties don't ruffle the true devotees. When he has the feast of bliss in his heart, why should he bother for the liquor of transient pleasures ? He continued the worship of the Lord who never worships anybody, ruled the kingdom with the shaivismof the Lord who never worships anybody, ruled the kingdom with the shaivism illuminating the hearts of the people. As he ruled with holy ash, rudhrAksham and matted hair as the ornaments he is praised mummaiyAl ulakANda mUrthiyAr (mUrthiyAr who ruled the world with three (holy) things). Then he gave the kingdom to the successor and joined the sandal fragrant feet of Almighty. Let the determination of mUrthiyAr in doing the service and the simplicity and unperturbedness of mind even when he became the king stay in the mind.

Similarly the another Nayanmaar by name Pugazch chozar day too on the same day.
Himself being a King of Chozas regime and for having killed a Shiva devotee in a war by His defence staff,He tied to enter fire as the same can be listened from:

http://www.esnips.com/doc/4a54ccdd-001f-44b7-8af9-3f1671876ba9/39pukazch-chOza-nAyanAr

pukazch chOza nAyanAr

The center from which the venturous early chOzas, who had fluttered their flag in the cliffs of Himalayas, ruled was uRaiyUr. As it was the capital, it had the movement of courageous corps and all the four kinds of fighting forces. It had the array of beautiful cliff-high houses. As the crown at the center is the temple of the crescent headed God, pa.nchavarNeshwarar, who showed Himself in five colors to a sage in this colorful city. It is now at the center of the city thiruchchirAppaLLi.
pukazch chOzar whose name has got fame in it and whose deeds were fountain of fame was a king who ruled from that famous city. He was an emperor with the kings of the entire region keen on saluting his valor and accept his rule. But he was a slave of the shambhu and His selfless slaves. Shaivism spread its fragrance over the far reaching frontiers of his state. Temples of the Three eyed Lord had timely worships with tremendous devotion. The needs of devotees were taken care of by the caring king before they cared to ask. Peace and prosperity were predominant in that place and in the minds of the people. His respect for the devotees was so great that when his royal elephant was killed by eRipaththar for straying down the flowers meant for the feet of God, he bowed down before eRipaththar and said, "It is not sufficient to just kill that elephant for the crime done, please kill me too".
Once he went to karuvUr, the traditional city of chOzas, accompanied by courtmen and beloved relations. He bowed in front of the Lord in karuvUr whose bow is the great mountain, before going to his bungalow. The gems of the empires were submitted to him by the kings who surrendered to his strength and love. He came to know that only one king adhiakan volunteered the trouble of not accepting his empire. As it was the tradition of the kings he ordered his four forces to overrun the fort of the foe. The powerful, plenty in number and courageous army of pukazch chOzar powdered the fort of enemy in the fight. They brought the heap of heads to show their valor to the king. He was petrified to see a head with plaited hair which is a mark of the devotee.
Though it was the custom of the kings of olden days to fight and enlarge the frontiers, our peerless king felt it was a crime that had happened. He said in all sadness, "Is it the way I am ruling the empire ? Even after seeing the matted head of a devotee how am I still governing, with grayed fame ?". He ordered the ministers to guide the new king, his son, in the right path of God and to the gloom of them he decided to give up his life. He, smeared in holy ash, held the matted haired head in a golden plate and entered the fire with the glory of the God quenching his heart. He entered the feet of Lord unreachable for nonbelievers with the increase of enchanting of his fame. Let the devotion of pukazch chOzar in which that king bowed to eRipaththar for the mistake of his elephant, and out of which he sacrificed his body for the mistake of his soldiers stay in the mind.

Seeking - From God to Man and Back

The task of conscious evolution calls for the embodiment of the soul into matter and subsequently the spiritualizing of matter

From time immemorial, the science of yoga – the science of the evolution of human consciousness – has been the most comprehensive enterprise ever undertaken by humanity, besides which the greatest of human achievements pale into insignificance. The end of physical evolution is the perfection of the mammalian form. The end of mental evolution is the perfection of the human mind. And the end of spiritual evolution is the full expression of one’s consciousness of natural enlightenment. From the prehistoric animal man with his mind enmeshed in the senses, we have gradually evolved to the human man with his mind centered in the intellect. And now we must follow the evolutionary process of yoga whereby we may become divine beings expressing our consciousness of natural enlightenment, Sahaj Samadhi.

This is where we are going, in spite of ourselves.  Because the galactic swirl is towards Divinity. Therefore, we cannot help but flow in that course of direction.

Of course, karma decides the evolutionary process – of individuals and of civilizations. Everything is connected to everything else. If a stone is thrown into the placid, crystal lake of Mansarovar, the ripples will affect the whole lake. We have to hold ourselves responsible for whatever happens, good or bad, and make the essential effort. It is on the basis of karma that one is reborn and comes into Samsar. To get out of the cycle of samsar, you have to work out or dissolve karma. Sanatan philosophy is based on three things – karma, which leads you to punar janma (rebirth), which leads you to be born into Samsar to fulfill your desires. After you have fulfilled your desires, propelled by the desire to go back to your parent source, you break the cycle of birth and death by yoga and tapasya.

Maya or illusion, the cosmic drama played out on the screen of the universal mind, is not easy to understand. Maya means that which appears to be what it is not. So it is a mirage that is created in the world scenario for the soul to pass through and learn its lessons of life. The foundation of maya is built on relativity. Maya is a fast-flowing universal mind substance which is composed of subatomic particles called raja, sattva and tama guna, which corresponds with the electron, proton and neutron. Once we transcend the state of relativity, we go beyond maya. But while we live in maya, for that moment of time it is real for us.

It is necessary for human life to first gain experience in maya and then evolve its way up to its own spiritual self. First comes the involution of consciousness into matter and then evolution of matter into consciousness. The human soul, in order to complete its cycle of evolution, gets engrossed in the various sheaths of the body, the mental sheath, the emotional sheath, the etheric sheath, and finally, in the womb, the material sheath of flesh and bones. It gets more and more restricted as, in relative sequence by various permutations and combinations of molecules, it becomes denser. In this descending arc of involution called the pravritti marg, the soul descends more and more into the material world, garnering the experiences of joy and sorrow, right and wrong, bad and good in the world of relativity.

After having satisfied all its desires in the material world, being buffeted by raag (attraction) and dvesh (repulsion) in its lust for life, and having learnt its lessons, the inner spirit of the soul then pushes it forth gradually towards the nivritti marg, which is the evolutionary path of renunciation and detachment to all worldly pleasures of samsar. Then it completes its cycle of evolution as it ascends, and as it becomes more and more transparent by yogic and spiritual practices, the flame of its soul expresses more and more of its innate spiritual radiance. The yogi then makes an ash heap of both vice and virtue, knowing it is in the realm of relativity and seeks the singular truth, the merging of the finite consciousness with the Infinite Consciousness.

Within each one of us is this mystic, inconceivable, indescribable silence and love, and the urge to return to this natural state, the sahaj samadhi. The yogi then stands triumphant in his knowledge, for there is nothing on the earthly or heavenly sphere of which he is ignorant. Having drunk of the fountain of wisdom, he is the enlightened one and has fulfilled the purpose of his being!

Namaskaram..

As Received from one of my friends
Dhamu & Vijaya
+968-92906291
+968-24787080(R)

I have received a lot of emails from devotees who are interested in going for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and they want me to share as much details as possible so that they can plan their trip accordingly..So instead of replying to each and every email,I will do it thru this mail..

Firstly, Like I wrote in my mailyesterday that no matter how much one plans or wishes to go for thisyatra but ultimately, one requires God's grace and a call from Him tobe at any holy place..Infact I truly believe that to takeGod's name too-- we need His kind blessings..

And if you ever get lucky and are able to go for this sacred yatra, there are some things that one needs to be aware of...

First, u will need a doctor's certificate stating that you are fit and healthy to travel at 20, 000 ft above sea level.. When I say 20,000 ft above sea level, itimplies that the oxygen level will be about 50-60% which becomes afactor that can slow you down so people with asthama problems or heartpatients are not advised to be at such high altitudes

In fact, it is not necessary that onlypeople with health problems can show symptoms of high altitudesickness. It can happen to anyone..On this yatra itself, one of my verygood friend who was only 21 yrs of age and was physically healthy andfit - fainted on the way while she was on the first day of parikramadue to lack of oxygen and then the same evening when she was chattingwith all of us in the tent- she almost fainted due to lack of oxygen .Our tour guide immediately rushed with the oxygen tank and did theneedful and then advised her to go back down to Darchen. And that iswhat she did-- She went back down and thus was not able to continuewith the parikrama..

Anyways, if one is planning to go for thisyatra-- then one has to go thru a package..You are not allowed totravel individually. You have to travel with the group.A lot of visasand permits are involved in this yatra ..And the Tibet government isvery strict about it ..Your tour operator takes care of all the permitsand visas for tibet..

The cost of the 14 day package for theKailash Mansarovar Yatra that I paid was $2100 plus the airfare from USA to Kathmandu .But for a person who has an Indian passport, hispackage cost will be abt $1800 plus the airfare.. The difference ofthose $300 between the Indian passport holder and the foreign passportholder is due to $300 fees that is charged for the visa to tibet to aforeign passport holder..Due to some contract between the Tibetgovernment and the indian government, indian passport holders do notneed to pay for the visa fees..Ofcourse, the price that I paid candiffer from what you are offered by your tour operator..

And yes, when one reaches Kathmandu- aforeign passport holder has to pay $25 for 15 days visa permit onarrival in Kathmandu where as an Indian passport holder will get thestamp for free and does not require any visa to enter Kathmandu..

When one reaches Kathmandu, ur tour operatorwill usually offer you a five star hotel -atleast thats what happenedin my case.. He put us all in a five star resort and we were given afive star treatment. And this was for two days only.. The first day wasbasically for resting and briefing and the second day was for the tourto the pashupatinath temple, the sleeping Vishnu temple etc..

While one is in Kathmandu and Tibet, you cannot help noticing a lot of dust around you.The air is polluted to anextent where it is a must for you to wear the dust mask..If you can notfind a dust mask to take along with you, be sure to take a surgicalmask- the one that the doctors wear while operating someone..Take a fewof them so that you can share it with others.. I know I had takenabout 8 or 10 and I gave it to a few people while we were travelingand I made sure I was wearing it at all times but while on return tokathmandu after the yatra, I became a little careless and lazy and Idid not put it on ... but there is a saying na" What you sow is whatyou reap" One person sitting next to me saw that I was'nt wearing itand he just removed a new one from his bag and gave it to me towear..That gesture really touched my heart.. All this time thru out thejourney, I was offering the mask to other peopleand when I needed it someone noticed and offered it to me..That smallgesture will always inspire me to do good karma and remind me thatwhether in this life or next but someday my actions will act as amirror of my present life..

Anyways, your actual yatra starts when you head for Tibet since Mansarovar and Mt. Kailash are both in Tibet..

After being in a five star hotel in Kathmanduwhere the bathroom itself was the size of your bedroom..--You drop downto living in a place where there are 6-8 people living in one smallroom.. The bathrooms were simply non existent which means that you haveno choice but to go in open bathrooms.. And if there are bathrooms, they are so smelly and dirty that one can feel disgusted to even stepover there..So be sure to carry a lot of wet wipes /hand sanitizingwipes/Gel..

There was one more thing that we all wereadvised to carry ..Besides all the regular medications for aches andpains and other stuff- we had to take a medication called diamox oraccetozalomide which would help us with the altitude sickness..Weneeded to take atleast minimum of 10 pills with us.. And it did helpwith the altitude sickness but it did have a lot of side effects..Oneof the side effects of this medication was that one will urinate quitefrequently so drinking a lot of water was a must to keep urself wellhydrated.

There are a couple of other things whichare a must to take while on this yatra - something made of garlic andginger to eat.. Ginger protects you from having colds while one of the Sherpas told me that they take garlic to help them with the breathingproblems.. Kaafur/Camphor also helps you tremendously with thebreathing problems so don't forget to take that along with you..

Proper trekking shoes which are either waterresistant or water proof are a must along with the down jacket , monkeycap, gloves and other warm clothes..

This was the second day of the parikramaand this is the day that no one will ever forget in this life time..Its a true blessing to be here walking on ice..

If u continously chant the mahamrityunjaya mantra over here-- it automatically connects you with allthe positive energy .. It just seems as if all your wishes and dreamshave come true and there is nothing left in the world that can give youany more happiness , peace and contentment than what you areexperiencing at that particular moment..

One can hire a horse over here which willcost you abt 1500 yuans and a porter which according to me is a mustwill cost you about 600 yuans

Your porter can also act like your guide andto get a good porter is a blessing from above..I saw so many peoplefighting with their respective porters on the way but Thank God , myporter who carried my bag pack was an angel sent from above.. He guidedme all the way thru out the journey. He told me where to put my stepand where not to... At times when it was very very slippery , he heldmy hand and assured me that he will not let me fall..And aboveeverything, he was very patient with me.. I stopped so many times..Sometimes just after taking 5-10 steps due to shortness of breadth- Ifelt extremely tired but he gave me the confidence to move on..This wasthe time I realized that whether it is a yatra like this or the journeyof your life but it is important to have a Guru - A guide- who has beenthere before and knows all the ups and downs. He has the knowledge totackle a situation and can help us to reach ourdestination..

The highlight of the day was crossing the Dolma La pass at 5680 meters (19000 ft).

The trek was extremely hard. 10 steps upwarddemanded a 2 minute rest. And, after every 10 minutes of hike, 5 minuterest was a requirement. Oxygen level was very low at this height andthat made the climb daring. It made even trickier on the loose stones, boulders and the sliding gravel..

When I see these pictures right now so manymemories come back to me.. One of them was where I was complaining thatI feel as if my lungs were bleeding and my heart will stop beating atany second.. Technically, I know that my lungs can not bleed but thepain that I felt then was extremely hard to digest..

And in that pain when my heart was beatingvery fast-- something magical definetly happened.. It was like all mypast regrets, pains, negative feelings -everything just washed away..Everything made complete sense... I forgave all the people whom I havenever been able to forgive for some wrong doing that they did towardsme..

I have always felt the peace with in me but this was something way different..

One amazing leela happened when I was trekking somewhere at the point that u see in the above picture..

We had to trek on these stones and find ourown way and while I was climbing up- at one given point- I could notfigure out which way to go- there was a stone that I had to hike on andI just did not how to balance myself in order to put my feet on thatrock..And besides that I was feeling completely short of breadth andvery very tired with a lot of pain all over my body. I think by thispoint I had trekked for abt 8 hrs or so ..I was just standing there allconfused trying to figure out where to lay my feet so that I don't loosemy balance.. And just then a miracle happened-- a tibetian old man puthis hand on my back at my waist and pushed me upwards. I reached thetop only to figure out in less than a minute that all my pain andtiredness had suddenly vanished. I looked around to find that Tibetanold man to thank him but he had disappeared too..I dont know what wasso magical in his touch that all my painsdisappeared and I felt fresh as if I was never tired..My mind and mybody was filled with this tremendous energy and freshness that I havenever ever felt in my entire life..I was wearing 3 tops and 3 jacketsso that man did not actually touch my skin but still his touch wasmagical and I have no idea where he disappeared in less than a minute..

Miracles do happen and whether it is a yatraor the journey of ur life-- God himself does come to help you when youneed him the most.. Just have faith in your faith for your creator.

According to what I have learnt-- thestrength is in the devotion of a devotee along with the faith togracefully accept God's will and always remember that what happens willhappen for your own good.. If something happens that we think is not inour best interest than perhaps its our karma of some past life that hasmade conditions difficult for us.. So leave ur ego behind and make continuous efforts to improve ur karma..

Then no matter how difficult the journey is--but if God, the almighty is with you in ur heart --there is just noreason to fear and even if u do get stuck somewhere, - He will surelycome for ur rescue..

Tarboche flagpole, is one of the mostimportant aspect of Tibetan spirituality. On 'Saga Dawa' [4th ofJune 2012] which is an impressive and capturing annual festival of Mt.Kailash this giant flagpole which has numerous prayer flags on it isbrought down and replaced.

This annual festival or one can also mentionit as a carnival attracts Tibetans from all over along with othertourists and pilgrims. This ritual is performed every year on the fullmoon day of the fourth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar, tocelebrate Sakyamuni's enlightenment†. During the flagpole ceremony asthe poles tip is raised and pointed east towards Gyangdrak Monastery, monks of that monastery carry out a special ritual. A cacophony ofmusic from long trumpets, conch shells and other instruments welcomesthe rising flagpole. It is like a magical event that captures one’ssenses. People gathered there attach there prayer flags and help inmaking the pole rise again. The flagpole should be standing in aperfect upright position or it is believed that things will not be goodfor Tibet

Gauri Kund, a water body that is also knownas the Lake of Compassion, lies on the way while going on downwardsfrom Dolma - La (Dolma Pass). This steep descent from Dolma Pass is awonderful lake which is at an altitude of 5608m.

As per Hindu mythology, there is afascinating tale about Gauri Kund and has been described in legend'Shiva Purana'.

When we reached at Gauri Kund- It was allfrozen so getting the water from here or going down was not anoption..My humble pranams to this sacred kund and its divine history

Doing a Parikrama of the abode of Lord Shivawas a true blessing.. I had my own personal chat session going on withlord Shiva..Looking towards this sacred Mt. Kailash, I cried- I smiled,I thanked, I asked for forgiveness, I asked for help, I asked forpeace, I asked for his support, I asked for his grace, I asked himquestions and I got my answers......

On my way towards the end of the second day of Parikrama- Life had a whole meaning..

Somepilgrims that I saw on the way ,  ventured a much more demandingregimen, performing body-length prostrations over the entire length ofthe circumambulation: The pilgrim bends down, kneels, prostratesfull-length, makes a mark with his fingers, rises to his knees, prays, and then crawls forward on hands and knees to the mark made by his/herfingers before repeating the process. It requires at least four weeksof physical endurance to perform the circumambulation while followingthis regimen
