This week's Wednesday night dinner is at THE PLANET at 2293 Divot Drive,
Suite 4 (525-8009) and next week, Wednesday, January 16th, we meet at CATTLE
BARON'S. Dinner is always at 6:30 p.m.

Neal McCowan's band has been able to play at Grahams on Fridays 6pm-
9pm.  I am so happy that there is a live band playing in Cruces with a
big dance floor.  We need more places.

Jerry's new trio will be playing at Hotel Encnato on Wed from 7:30 to
10:30pm also.  They had a sax player join them last Wed and he really
added to the trio.  Phil now will email when they play along with the
schedule for Cadillac Kings and Guitar Slim.

If anyone is interested in finding out about dance places or knows of
any good music please email me. There is usually a core group of
followers but the more the merrier.

Hey, Christina and other members interested in meeting other people,
we do meet on a regular basis in public places so you can feel out
whether you're comfortable giving out your phone number or whatever.

Tonight, we meet at Si Italian Bistro at 6:30 p.m. (Feel free to show
up 5 or 10 minutes early; there's some folks that get there early to
make sure they get a good seat but we order around 6:30 p.m. usually
and the reservation is for 6:30 though they sometimes seat us early).

Next Wednesday, January 30th, we meet on Wednesday night at Cici's
Pizza on El Paseo. Again, dinner time is 6:30 p.m. though you're
welcome to get there a little early. I usually try to get there by
6:15 p.m. because they don't do reservations and we need to grab a
big enough table.

Wednesday, February 6th we'll meet at Ranchway, 604 N. Valley (ph.
523-7361).

We meet at a different restaurant every week. I usually print up
schedules and pass them out at our weekly Wednesday dinners. Jeff
Passner (email jeffp@...) organizes a weekly Happy Hour on
Fridays, 5 p.m. to 7 or 7:30 p.m. usually. Lately they've been
meeting at the Mission Inn on South Main but feel free to email him
if you want more information about Happy Hour.

We also have "Movie Day" on Sunday and whoever wants to see the movie
we're watching that week is welcome to come join us. It's only $5.50
since we get matinee prices by going around noon on Sunday. Barbara
Copenhaver organizes that. Feel free to email Barbara at
gestergal@... to get more information about what movie we're
going to see on Sunday. Usually there's 4 to 8 people going to any
given movie so if bigger crowds make you nervous then come see a
movie with us.

Once you come to one of our dinners, Happy Hours or movies, you are
welcome to join our private yahoogroup, LC_Singles (which is found at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LC_Singles/ in case you want to check
it out).  YOU CAN ONLY JOIN THAT GROUP IF WE'VE HAD A CHANCE TO MEET
YOU FACE TO FACE. No hiding behind an anonymous email.

I know there are married people who sometimes join this group to see
what it's about or look for someone to fool around with so we do our
best to screen those out and not allow them into LC_Singles.

I just met someone at the gym yesterday who said he's been in Las
Cruces 5 years and didn't know we existed. Well, yeah, that's right.
We don't charge any dues or fees so we have to kind of rely on word-
of-mouth to get new members.

I started LC Singles in February 2002 so if any of you have any
questions, feel free to ask!
