This group began as an E-group for organizing the "Some Kind Of Queer" Party - Part of the Gala Opening Week Festivities at the LGBT Community Center in San Francisco - A Party for Trans, Drag, Intersex, Genderqueer, Beyond...and our friends. http://www.transbay.org/skoq/

After the event, members began to use it as an announcement list for cultural events, calls for proposals, invitations to openings and related communications. The listwrangler decided to defer to the organic development and make it offical.
