Hi Everyone!!

I do wonder how the Tri Club Dance for Turkey Foote went.  Sorry I couldn't be
there.

Now, our next dance is this coming Friday, August 7th, 2009 with our Lois Lapish
calling and Kay Boyd cueing.  The dance is at 327 Erie Street in the Piotter
Center starting at 7:15 with early rounds.  The hall is also air condition.

I show for that night that Barb and Louis Wagner are on kitchen duty.

James  Hurley, age 78, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009 in Ft. Wayne. He
was born  July 11, 1931 in Ft. Wayne to Ross and Lucille Blake Hurley and
they preceded  him, along with 2 Sisters, in death. Edgar was an Army veteran
of the Korean  War. He married Pauline M. Huett on December 24, 1954 and she
survives. He is  also survived by his daughter Kathryn (Arthur) Lahrman, of
Ft. Wayne and brother  Vern Hurley, of Ft. Wayne, 3 Grandchildren, Deserae
Lahrman, Art (Sandy) Lahrman  and Josh (April) Lahrman, 4 Great
Grandchildren, Austin Tyler Peters, Alexander  Douglas Lahrman, Benjamin David
Lahrman
and Delaney Marie Lahrman, all of Ft.  Wayne. He was an avid Square Dancer,
enjoyed boating activities and he lived  life to the fullest. He was a member
of the Moose Lodge, American Legion Post #  82, and a Life Member of V. F.
W. # 11438. A Celebration of Life Service will be  Monday August 17 at 5pm
at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from  3:00 pm until
service time.

Turkey Foot Trotters of Archbold, Ohio will be having our first ever Frisbee

Hi All,

Many of us have been wondering about Jean Graber (Turkey Foot  Trotters).
I emailed Sheila Vajen to find out and am now passing her  information on.


Diane:  As of this morning, I  talked with Don Graber and Jean was admitted
to the Toledo Hospital, this past  Wed., after seeing the doctor.
The foot had become infected again and  the infection has went to the bone.
  She will have surgery tomorrow  (Mon) morning and Don said he would
update me after he gets home.   Keep her in your prayers as it doesn't
sound very  well.

It has been a long time now.  I want to let everyone know that this coming
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2009 IS OUR MAPLE CITY SWINGWERS DANCE AND THE CALLER WILL
BE DAVE MAGEE AND THE CUER WILL BE BUD & LOUISE JOHNSON.  THE DANCE IS STARTING
AT THE USUSAL TIME 7:15 PM WITH EARLY ROUNDS AND 7:45 PM WILL START THE SQUARES.
DANCE ENDING AT 9:45 PM

THE ONES WHO WENT TO THE MICHIGAN STATE SQUARE DANCE CONVENTIONS(AUGUST 21-22,

Don Graber called with the following information:
Jean recv'd surgery today, Aug. 31st, at the Toledo Hospital.
Infection had set into her right ankle and the four bones connecting to it.
Doctors opened up the area, used a special chisel and scraped all the infection
out.
She will have a "wound pump"  on the area and will have to leave the area open,
for it to heal from the inside out.  Jean will be off her feet from 6 to 8
weeks.  At this time
she insists on going home from the hospital, but not sure if that will work out.
PLEASE, send her cards at either Toledo Hospital Room #686, or her home
address:  13040 Co. Rd. B, Wauseon, OH  43567. Keep her in your prayers.

Perhaps someone in Toledo could use this offer.  I know Nasser and
believe it to be true.  Maybe some dancer who is sick would want to fly

I have an "award ticket" on Southwest Airline, good for free travel
anywhere they fly.  It can be used either as one round-trip or two
one-ways.

The ticket expires October 9th.  All travel must be complete by then.

It's against airline rules to sell an award ticket, however giving it
away is perfectly okay.  I will give the ticket to someone who can put
it to good use.

Here's the deal:  I'm searching for a square dancer who can make good
use of a free trip on Southwest Airlines on or before October 9th.
"Good use" means anything to do with square dancing, e.g. travel to a
dance, visit square dance friends, etc.

Please reply by private email.  I'll accept replies for the next 72
hours.  In case of multiple replies, I'll give the ticket to whomever
makes the most convincing case as to why he/she should have it. :)  I
will -not- publish anyone's reply without permission.

Borderline Squares will dance Friday, September 11 at the Milestones, 139 West
Main St., Morenci.  Rounds will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Kay Boyd as cuer.  Galen
Hibbard will call the squares beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Shirts and Skirts welcome all dancers to our first dance of the new season on
Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Memorial Hall on Main Street in Delta, Ohio. 
Our caller will be Jerry Sleeman and the cuer, Janet Parks.  We dance from 7:30
to 10:00 P.M. (note the new ending time).
This will be a fine weekend to dance, and we will be looking forward to seeing
everyone again.  As always, good food, great friends and plenty of fun, dancing.
Come on out! We'll be looking for you.

Additionally, Skirts and Shirts will offer mainstream square dance lessons
beginning Sunday evening, September 13th, from 6 - 8 p.m. Galen Hibbard will be
instructing, and of course, the first lesson is free.  We plan to have pizza
there that first night for refreshments after the lesson has gotten into full
swing. If any of you out there would like to refresh your dancing skills, want
to be an angel, or just want to have a bit more time to dance, feel welcome to
come and help out/learn/relearn! We would love to have everyone come who is
willing to help.

Jean Graber has been moved to the Heartland Nursing Home, 303 W. Leggett St.,
Wauseon, OH  43567, as of today.  She will be having IV's for 30 days and some
therapy.  She needs visitors to keep her spirit up, cards, prayers and phone
calls.
Her room number is #21 bed 1, and her phone # is  419-330-2265.
She has a long road to recovery yet.
