SRI SRI THAKUR AT LAND OF UTKAL

     Utkal or Orissa, the holy land of lord Purusottama. Lord
Jagannath’s initial name was Purusottama and Puri was also named as Purusottama. In ancient days. To this holy city of Purusottama (Puri) all most all Purusottamas visited and performed their divine leela. Even in some recent years historical proof says Lord Jesus Christ also had come to Purusottama (Puri) and did the holy darshan of lord Purusottama (Lord Jagannath).

     Yuga-Purusottama Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra,the prophet of this age had also come to Shrikshetra (Puri) and did his noble and divine leela which will be recorded in golden words as an important chapter not only in history of Satsang but also in
Purusottama-Parampara for all the ages.

    Lord Jagannath who is the symbol of all Purusottamas resides in the holy dhaam (abode) of Neelachal (Puri) from prevedic age. At that time he was named as Purusottama.In flow of time, The Lord Purusottama was named as “ Jagannath” in vedic age. In Ramayan by Balmiki it is written “ Aradheyam Jagannatham ekshaku kula daivatam”. So, probably from the age of Ramayan Lord Purusottama was named as Jagannath. Previously Puri was also named as “Purusottama” and this Puri name has been derived from name “Purusottama”.In a very old Oriya poem it is written:-
          “Dhama je tara naama hoi
               Taraka brahma se bolai”
It means His (Lord Jagannath) abode(Dhaam) as according to his name and both are “Taraka Brahma”(Which liberates from bondage of illusion) “Purusottama”. So Pusrsottama dhama is “Purusottama” it self by name.Sri Sri Jagannath Mahaprabhu
is the Darubrahma Prususottama (Purusottama in form of divine wooden log) and coming of Narabrahma Purusottama (Purusottama in human form) to this Purusottama keshetra proves the theory that Lord Jagannath again come in his human
incarnation named as Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra— Who is Jagannath (Lord of universe) he is Jeevan-nath (Master of life) him self.” Jagannathastu jeevannatham swayam”. It also recalls holy arrival of Sri Gouranga (Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu) in Puri, as if again Gour chandra (The white moon) has appeared in the Sky of
Purusottama kshetra “Purusottama”(Puri)

           Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra put his holy arrival to Utkal(Orissa) and it’s cultural capital Puri on 2nd January 1923. On the request of parents of Netajee Subhas Chandra Bose father Janakinath Bose and mother Prabhabati Devi who were great devotees of Thakur, Thakur came to Orissa. He started his journey
from Himaitapur ashram, Pabna on 31st December 1922 and reached at Puri just after two days and on next year i.e. on 2nd January 1923. He stayed at Puri for the period of nearly one and half month at Harnath lodge. During his stay the holy environment of Puri became more charged with holy kirton and divine
discourses. In every very morning a kirton was being started on guidance of great devotees like Anant Maharaj, Kishori Mahan, Nafar Da, Satish Chandra Goswami, Jatin Basu  and other  were traveling round the city. They were performing Kirtons at all most every Maths (residing place of saints) and Mandiras (temples). But maximum time kirton was being performed at Gambhira Matha (where Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu lived) and than to Gambhira Matha the Kirton troop used to live more maximum times at Shree Mandira (Glorious temple of Lord Jagannath).Generally they were performing Kirtons at lions’ gate (Simha dwar) of Lord Jagannath temple and they were  not allowed to enter inside the temple and to perform kirton in front of Sri-Bigraha (statue of Lord Jabannath) as they had many musical instruments which were made of animal skin. But one day kirton lead by Anantanath and Kishori Mohan reached in such a higher divine transcendental stage that they moved foreword to enter inside the temple. Pandas (Devotees
of Lord Jagannath) strongly opposed them  to enter inside the temple but lastly they had to defeat and the kirtan moved inside the temple.

         Most of the time Sri Sri Thakur used to have a morning walk on sea shore of Puri and also used to take bath with the devotees on water of Mahodadhi (The bay of Bengal which belongs to part of Utkal or Orissa is called as Mahodadhi). What a great sight it was as if Lord Krishna was doing Jal-Krida with Gopanganas. As
if this mohadadhi (Sea lying at Puri side) had become river Jamuna and Neelachal (Puri) had become Brindavan. Once at morning walk no body found Thakur’s return to Harnath lodge. Every body started searching Thakur,but all went in vain. Every body remembered how once Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu got disappeared himself at holy environment of Puri as if he made himself dissolved in highly charged divinity of Nilachal (Puri) and no body could see him after that by his physical human being.So all started chanting holy name and lastly, the holder of that holy name Sri Sri Thakur himself returned and every body could found him standing near a well at Harnath lodge campus. Later when he was asked about this matter he told that he had gone to a place named Sakhi Gopal for a unknown reason. That reason is still unknown why Sri Sri Thakur went to Sakhi Gopal.History says once lord Gopal  (Shree Krishna) came from Brindavan to this place in order to give sakhi ( proof ) for the devotion of one of his great devotee. So, It was named as Sakhi-Gopal.Who knows,the same thing had happened again. Some one of his great devotee had been waiting for Sri Sri Thakur to offer his holy devotion in Sakhi Gopal. That great day was 25th January 1923.

    Once Sri Sri Thakur took a snap by the request of Jatindranath Basu. Already a photo grapher named Hare Krishna Saha had come from Kolkata for this purpose. but after snap had been taken and when negative was washed the eyes was found ruined in photo graph.Jatin Da worried about it but Thakur instructed him to wash it again properly and when it was again washed that photo was found to be very nice in every angle.When the photo was shown to Thakur, Thakur kissed it again and again and told in a trance moment that “it is the real photo of Supreme Father”. Sri Sri Thakur declared him who he really was. He is the lord of the lords, Lord Sri Prusottama and Supreme Father of everybody.

          On 12th February 1923, Sri Sri Thakur had also gone have holy darshan of Lord Sri Jagannath Mahaprabhu. At that time no one has been permitted to go with Sri Sri Thakur except Ananta Maharaj. Sri Sri Thakur is Narakalebara (human incarnation) of Lord jagannath or Lord Sri Vishnu.He is lord Jagannath himself.In one hand he is infinite which resembles to Sri Jagannath and in other hand he is finite who is Sri Sri Thakur himself. He had come in a finite shape of flesh and blood named as Sri Anukul Chandra. He was doing his darshan only in Jagannath temple. It is written in holy script “Sarba rahasya Purusottamasya, Najanati devo krytah manusyah”. It means Purusottama himself is puzzle, when Gods could not identify him what about men? Really how lucky we are! We got Purusottama in human form so easily who is rarely available to Devatas (Gods).

     Here an important thing that can be written that the world’s largest kitchen of Lord Jagannath is named as “Ananda-Bazar (The market of pleasure). Mata Manmohini devi (mother of Sri Sri Thakur) liked this name and asked Sri Sri Thakur to keep the same name for Satsang kitchen.As according to mother’s instruction Sri Sri Thakur Keep the same name “Ananda-Bazar” for “Satsang kitchen” where each and every day a number of devotees getting the Prasada of living Jagannath named as Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra at free of cost.

   On 14th February 1923 Sri Sri Thakur went back from Puri to Pabna. It was the most glorious and holy moments for Utkal-Kalinga (Orissa) when it’s beautiful and noble land was getting blissful touch of his holy feet. It’s air, water and land has been charged with his holy name and love. Oh! Mother Utkal you are really great, that you could offer your love and devotion to your
lord “Lord Jagannath” himself in human form named as Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra. I recall here a great poem of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das:-
    “Utkal netara nahi prayojana
        Utkalra neta nije Narayana”
It means:-There is no leader or ruler is need for Utkal because king of Utkal is Lord Narayan himself. “Bande Purusottamam”

Jayguru !!! Yes, you very much correct. Division of country is not same as division of states.But In Andhra Pradesh, it has a one Socio-Cultural tradition across the whole state. Everybody speaks here telugu language, everybody is having one unique eating (food) and dressing (cloth) style. So, It should not be divided. Anyway, I don't know much about Andhra Pradesh, that why Govt is interested for Telengana state, carved out of Andhra Pradesh? I am here more  bothered about my own mother-land Orissa. The demand for a separate state Koshal in Western Orissa is completely baseless. I remember here the history of formation of Modern Orissa state. After rule of the king Pratap Rudradev of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's time (16th Century) Orissa lost it's own independence. Thou, Pratap Rudradev was Ideal king. but his he was not so powerful like his father Purusottam dev or Grand father Kapilendra dev. Original Kinddom of Kalinga was spread over from river Ganga to river Godavari. But, King Krishnadev Rai of Vijaynagar empire, defeated King Pratap Rudradev and took South kalinga. After Pratap Rudradev Orissa gradually taken over by Marahattas (Rulers of Maharastra) and Moguls (Muslim). but, Still the Kalinga (Orissa) was  fighting for it's own independence. When finally in 1803 Orissa came under British rule, they divided Orissa in several parts. They merged North and Coastal Orissa with Bengal-Bihar presidency,  South Orissa with Madras presidency and Western Orissa with Chhot Nagpur presedency.Oriya was a distinct language and Orissa was a distinct state in history, it was not known to British Government. The great Kalinga (Orissa) empire of History was subdivided and economically became poor due to ignorance of British Government. Not only that, the Indian leaders of other state in British Government tried to make their mother-tongues as official languages in Orissa. They made British Government to declare the languages such as Bengali, Telugu and Hindi to be made as Official languages of Costal Orissa, Western Orissa and Southern Orissa respectively. The great western Orissa people in Sambalpur first protested  against this and their voice made the whole Orissa to be united.The selfish leaders of Bengal named Kranti Chandra and Ashtosh Mukharjee declared that "Oriya ekta swatantra bhasa nay" (Oriys is not a dictinct language). The whole Orissa peole declared a war against this statement.The great sons of Orissa named Madhusudan Das, Gopabandhu Das, Gajapati Krishna Chndra dev, Godabarisha Mahapatra,Gouri Sankar Ray etc created a socio-cultural Organisation named "Utkal Sammilani"and published a daily newspaper named "Utkal deepika". They continuously published their researched article about Oriya lanuage, it's great history and it's gratness. For which it was proved that except south-indian languages (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada) Oriya is the most older language in whole over India.Due to Utkal Deepika and Utkal Sammilani, the British Government could able to know about glorious past history of Orissa and Oriya language.For which, the modern Orissa state was formed in 1st April 1936 before independence of India. The great personality of Orissa, Madhu Sudan Das at first gave a proposal to British Government to create the states in country on basis of language and socio-cultural tradition so that the culture, tradition and language of each region can be preserved. We all Oriyas are now verymuch proud for people of Sambalpur in Western Orissa as they first fought for the formation Orissa and making Oriya as official language of Orissa. Really due to them only Oriya and Orissa regained it's self respect, but in this same holy land of sambalpur, now some selfish political leaders are trying to divide orissa in the name of Koshal. The great poets of westen Orissa named Gangadhar Meher, Kuntala kumari Sabat who had established Oriya language in a top level position, on their holy land, peoples are saying that they are not Oriya, they are Koshali which is rubbish and baseless. No-one is now there to listen the tearful and pathetic story of Mother Orissa (Utkal Mata).Utkal Janani (Mother Orissa) is still awaiting for reborn of Madhusudan Das, Gopabadhu Das, Krishnachandara Gajapati, Gangadha Meher, Kuntalkumari Sabat, Chandra Sekhar Behera,Godabarish Mahapatra, Gouri Sankar Ray, Radhanath Ray, Fakir Mohan Senapati, Nilakantha Das,Acharya Harihar etc, the great sons of Orissa who struggled for establishment of Orissa state and Oriya language.

Dear Dada,                 Joy guru. If division of the state is for administrative convenience it is not bad. Sometimes the size of the state is so big that it becomes difficult to manage. Traveling from one part to another by road or train is time consuming. In such situations division of state is desirable. Haryana to my memory is a classic example of how division of state can expedite the development process. We should not equate such divisions with partition of the country which is a different thing.   In the instant case of division of AP, the government decision seems to be hasty and there seems to be lack of consensus among the ruling party's elected representatives. This may happen because of lack of strong leadership after the death of earlier Chief Minister, Y S R Reddy.    In general, such decisions are taken to address public demand for creating a new state.
