* Naturalizations in America and the West Indies
(Database Online - Ancestry.com) :
The Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantation
established the act for naturalization in the American and
West Indian colonies in 1740. Pursuant to that act,
commissioners in the Americas sent records back to England
detailing those foreign protestants who were naturalized
in the colonies. This collection of those naturalization
records contains important information from 1740 until
about 1782 when the commission was dissolved. Divided by
location, names are given of naturalized persons. Although
designed just to record protestants, New York lists also
include some Jews and Quakers. Some statesfl records are
more complete than others, New York being thought most
inclusive while Virginia is thought least comprehensive.
This is one database among thousands available to
Ancestry.com subscribers.

This Family Archive contains images of the pages from the
two-volume set Genealogies of New Jersey Families,
originally published by Genealogical Publishing Company.
These books are comprised of family history articles that
originally appeared in the Genealogical Society of New
Jersey's journal, Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey.
Begun in 1925 to promote scholarly interest in New Jersey
families, the magazine continues to be a primary vehicle
for New Jersey source material. Referencing over 38,000
people who lived between the early 1600s and 1800s, the
materials cover the entire state of New Jersey and include
all material and Bible records published in the Magazine
from the first issue through the end of Volume 65. These
historical volumes would cost at least $150 when purchased
separately as books, but you can purchase them all together
on this CD-ROM for just a fraction of that price.
