* Convict Maids: Forced Migration of Women to Australia
(Book - Amazon.co.uk) :
Convict Maids destroys the myth that the female convicts
transported from Britain and Ireland to New South Wales
between 1826 and 1840 were mainly prostitutes, professional
criminals and the 'sweepings of the gaols'. Deborah Oxley
argues that in fact these women helped put the colony on
its feet. Oxley shows that the women were generally first
offenders, transported for minor offences.

* Pennsylvania German Pioneers
(Database Online - Ancestry.com) :
This database contains the original lists of German
pioneers who arrived at the port of Philadelphia from the
years 1727 to 1808. These lists of early arrivals in
Pennsylvania are significant because in none of the other
ports of the American colonies, through which German
settlers entered, were such lists prepared or preserved. In
Philadelphia alone did the authorities insist on the
preparation of careful and detailed lists of arrivals.
About three hundred family associations, tracking their
ancestry to these pioneers, meet annually in Pennsylvania.
This is one database among thousands available to
Ancestry.com subscribers.
