concerning the applicants for the Half-Breed Scrip issued
to the Chippewas of Lake Superior. The Treaty with the
Chippewa Indians of Lake Superior, and the Mississippi
was concluded at La Pointe, Wisconsin, September 30,
1854. Many of the people applying were Canadian citizens
from the Red River Settlement (Manitoba). They were
generally denied the benefits of the treaty. Information
includes: Name of applicant, date of application, Special
agent or attorney, finding and evidence taken by the
commission.
