Hi

I just discovered this group and recently I found some gobots in a
box in my closet. I know their names Sky Jack(a grey fighter jet
Renegade),Night Ranger(a blue motorcycle Guardian),and Bugbite(a
yellow VW Beetle),but I don't know if they were ever in the cartoon.
Does anybody remember them,?and what episodes of the cartoon they
were in?

Thanks

Well,Sky Jack like Tux was called a different name in the show.Cy-
Kill calls him Spyke in the Gobotron saga and he was also in "The
Secret Of Halley's Comet",those are the only episodes I recall him
appearing in.Night Ranger was in the Gobotron saga,"Steamer's
Defection",and "Whiz Kid",he was a Gobotron security officer along
with Hans Cuff.Bugbite was only in one episode"The Gobots That Time
Forgot".He is Gunnyr's(the Russian red jet) right hand man and they
battle the usual Guardian trio plus new Guardians Ace and Dart.

Hello all. I just joined the group and decided to make
my first post. I am a huge fan of all types of anime,
especially super robots and real-type mecha, and I have
been collecting Japanese toys since I can remember.
I have a large and diverse collection consisting of
diecast, vinyl, and plastic robots and monsters.

It's great to see a group dedicated to Gobots. They
don't seem to usually get the respect they deserve
among many collectors and anime fans.

I don't have a ton of Gobots, but I do have a decent
amount including some in the original Japanese boxes
from the Machinerobo line. My favorites are the monster
gobots; Devil Invaders in Machinerobo.

So does anyone else here collect Machinerobo as well?
Any pics of any diehard Gobots fans collections?

I collect primarily Machine Robo, and have all but one 600/Reguler
size figure, and a good amount of the rest of the stuff, even somes
contest prize toys. I don't have pics anywhere though right now. I
have all the reguler Gobots as well form the US and Canada, but still
need 1 or 2 from Europe to complete my collection. Right now I am
just working on getting a secomnd set all sealed on card.

Sounds like you have a pretty impressive Machine Robo
collection. Awesome! Hey maybe you can answer a question
for me about the Devil Invaders I have been trying to
figure out for a while. Exactly how many were made in
the Machine Robo line?

I know of MRD-101 through MRD-105 (Vamp, Creepy, Pincher,
Scorp, Bladez) and the Devil Satan 6 (Monsterous), but I
have seen pics in artwork of what appears to be other
alien-insect-monster Gobots too. So are there MRD-10?'s
or what? I suspect the Gobots Hornet, Bugsie, and Klaws
have a Devil Invader counterpart as well right?

There were the 5 guys marked 101-105, plus the DS6 guys, but thats
it. We had several more that were planned for Machine Robo, but not
released. The MR guys had a few alternate colors, but thats about all
that makes them different.

There were others, but they didnt make them. Some of the Invader
leaders were made in cheap plasric model kit form, but thats all.

Nope, they would have, but Bandai the company who made MR stopped the
sale of the small figures in 1988 when they started Battle Hackers
series, the last of the MR shows.

Thanks for the info. I find it strange though that there
wasn't more. I mean if Machine Robo is the "parent" line,
how did they make monsters like Hornet, Bugsie, and Klaws
as Gobots yet not have a counterpart MRD in Machine Robo.
Wouldn't they have had to been made as Devil Invaders first?

Also you mentioned Battle Hackers. Perhaps some of the other
monsters I saw were part of that line. I have seen several
on Yahoo Japan when doing a search for Machine Robo like
ones that turn into dinosaurs and a dinosaur that splits
into two Devil Invader looking cronies.

Sorry for the SPAM, but this is kind of important and may affect this
   group.

Yahoo now seems to be making plans to introduce a premium
(i.e., NOT FREE) Yahoo Groups service. This wouldn't be so bad,
except that it looks like they're talking about downgrading the free
groups service where it has considerably less storage space
   than it does now.

But you can fight back. Yahoo has a survey going on right now
asking Yahoo Groups users what they would think about this
premium service. PLEASE take this survey and make it clear to
Yahoo that you do not want to pay for groups and that you don't
think any features/storage space should be taken away from free
   Yahoo Groups.

There is one place in the survey where Yahoo asks you to write
any features you would like to see groups have. Please use this
space to tell them you're against premium groups.

Here is the URL for the survey:
   http://sweepstakes.yahoo.com/groupspremiumsurvey2

If being able to continue using Yahoo Groups for free is
important to you, please take this survey and let Yahoo know
   that.

First yahoo merge clubs into groups now they want us to pay for yahoo
group service? I don't think so. I'll take the survey to OPPOSE
paying premium service.

I signed the petition to bring the
Gobots back on TV. Hopefully the
Cartoon Network will take notice

There are alot of other retro
cartoons from the 80's that have
made a comeback so who knows?
Has the petition already been

Yes, but Bandai had already finished adding to the reguler sized
portion of the toy line when these had been created.

That one is actually a long lost Rock Lords toy that was used for
Hackers as filler.

channel called BOOMERANG where you can see all of those old cartoons by

Hi Jose, I'm not sure if Boomerang is on Cartoon Network here in the
US anymore either, but we did have it at one time. They still do play
older cartoons regardless, so there is a good chance Cartoon Network
would play Gobots if there is enough ineterest. I think it is great
that someone started this petition...I just wonder if it was indeed
submitted yet or not.

If you want to sign the petition or view it but haven't found it yet,

I won a cool lot of 8 MOC Gobot Monsters on ebay. I used the buy-it-
now option for $100. Not bad for 8 MOC huh? Especially since it had
the rarer European Challenge of the Gobots Bugsie in the lot. Plus,
it had some different color variants of some of the Machine Robo
Devil Invaders that I only had as Machine Robo. Now all I really need
is Monsterous and Devil Satan 6 if I can find them.

Here is the link if anyone is interested...
