The crack of Anpu's mallet sounded throughout the grey mists into
which Arcadia had softened, sharpening their substance back into more
recognizeable forms... stones and steps and chambers pregnant with
possibility. No one could say how far the expanding wave of
coalescence would reach, nor who or what it would resolve, but at
least one voice took note of the sudden activity.
Rennyb came awake, his will drawn back into the context of Arcadia by
the unexpected activity. He looked around, momentarily disoriented.
He had almost forgotten he kept a manifestation on this plane.
"Er... hello?" the magician ventured.
"Hello!" Anpu replied. "Just taking care of a succubus who wandered
in," he explained. He indicated the new sign, and was especially
proud of its grisly punctuation.
"Ah," Rennyb replied, moving closer to take a better look. "How
dissappointingly cliche," he observed, inspecting what was left of
Lindsey. "Did she really think she'd get in with such a tired
routine? Well, nice job, Anpu. What say we go back inside and see if
anyone else is awake, eh?"
The two of them returned up the steps to see what new (or what old)
might be stirring inside...
