It's a 3 way!!! David, Steve and Jan got all 10
correct. Vic only missed 2. I'll post the
responses next. Note that David takes the list
from 11 thru 20. Jan wonders about the size of
that back seat in #7. I think it's a standard
size seat and there were 7 SKINNY girls. The
answers are:

1-(*** ****** *****) we fell in love, (*** ******
*****) I held you tight, you and I, under the
moon of love, (*** ****** *****) I kissed your
lips, (*** ****** *****) I held you close, you

to let him know
TWO LOVERS (MARY WELLS)

3-(***** ***** ** *** ********) each one seeking
happiness, thrown by ***** hopeful lovers, which
one will the ******** bless, ***** hearts in the
********, each heart longing for its home, there
they lie in the ********, somewhere in the heart
of Rome
THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN (AMES BROS I think)

4-(**** ****** *****) that blow lonely, seven
seas that run high, all these things that won't
change come what may, but my good times are all
gone, and I'm bound for moving on, I'll look for
you if I'm ever back this way
FOUR STRONG WINDS (BOBBY BARE)

5-up every morning just to keep a job, I gotta
find my way through the hustling mob, sounds of
the city pounding in my brain, while another day
goes down the drain, but it's a (**** *'*****
*****) when the whistle blows, no one owns a
piece of my time
FIVE O'CLOCK WORLD (VOGUES)

6-(*** ****** * ****), I long for you and then,
on Saturday night, I hold you in my arms again, I
love you so, but I'm a fool it seems, cause (***

SIX NIGHTS A WEEK (CRESTS)

7-(***** ****** ***** ******* ** *** **** ****)
hugging and a-kissin' with Fred, I said why don't
one of you come up and sit beside me and this is
what the ***** ***** said, keep your mind on your
driving, keep your hands on the wheel, keep your
snoopy eyes on the road ahead, we're having fun

SEVEN LITTLE GIRLS SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT (PAUL

Since we have new people joining the group occasionally, I will include instructions with each quiz. I will sing a line or 2 or 3 from a 50's or early 60's song and you name it. Only the title is required, you don't have to know the artist. If the title or words that will give away the title are in the lines, I will **** them out. I will always put a starred out title in parentheses. DO NOT REPLY TO THE LIST WITH YOUR ANSWERS!!! Send them to jamespines@... Thanks for participating in the quiz and good luck!

1- blow me a kiss from across the room, say I look nice when I'm not, touch my hair as you pass my chair, (****** ****** **** * ***)

2- I went and bought myself a ticket and I sat down in the very first row, they pulled the curtain up and then they turned the spotlight way down low, (****** *****) came out struttin' wearing nuttin' but a button and a bow

6- and you still had my ****** ****** **** on your hand, does my (****** **** ** ****) mean nothing to you, to me it meant the world but you've torn my world apart, you're leaving me alone with my broken heart

7- here she comes, that (****** **** *****), you're falling for her and you're gonna get hurt, yeah I know it's so hard to resist, the temptation of her tender red lips, but you can get hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, you can get hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, fooling around with that (****** **** *****)

8- the (****** *** **** **** ********), has a pretty little flower bed of white gardenias, but parked in a rickety old garage, there's a brand new shiny red superstock dodge

Another theme quiz James.

1. Little Things Mean a Lot
2. Little Egypt
3. Little Children
4. Little Queenie
5. Little Bitty Pretty One
6. Little Band of Gold
7. Little Town Flirt
8. Little Old Lady from Pasadena
9. Little Bitty Tear

You know it never seemed right, a Liverpool lad singing ' candy and a
quarter '. Mind you we accepted Guy Mitchell singing ' I took her for some
fish and chips ' ( The Roving Kind - for those not as old as me ).

keep up the good work

there forever!!!I did know some of the songs from the last 2 quizzes, but
could not get to the computer,to send them in!I don't really think I know
more than 1 or 2 this week,so I will just pass this time! But I have high
hopes(Mary Lou breaks into song!)*grin*,that next week,I will get MOST of
them!So,please,James,keep on sending quizzes--reading the lyrics,and hearing
your wonderful, huskyvoice, and everything that you,and all the rest of you
guys say, brightens my few stolen moments on the 'puter, that I manage, every
once in awhile! So I hope you all have the very best of weeks, and God bless
everyone of you!Take care, Mary Lou

Hi Mary Lou,

It was great to hear from you again - I look forward to hearing your
voice joining in on the harmonies, whenever you can find a few free
moments from being a Grannie.

David got all 10 to take 1st place, followed by
Steve with 9. I am being extremely generous to
give Jan 9 correct also, as you will see when I
post the responses. She says "BLACK" is the color
(colour)of my true love's hair and of course, it
should be yellow. Count the *s Jan! Anyway the
title is "Colours" and I gave her the benefit of
the doubt since she obviously knew the song. I
also was generous enough to do likewise for
David, who also didn't give the exact title. I
also gave Jan credit for "Lonely Boy Blue" which
should be "Lonely Blue Boy". Once again, I say
"count the *s Jan. Nice to have Mary Lou back
after a 2 or 3 week absence. She got 5 of 'em.
After missing a week Steve returned, but now, Vic
is missing. Just can't get EVERYBODY together at
the same time. Here come the answers, followed by
the responses.

1-****** is the ***** of my true love's hair, in
the morning, when we rise, in the morning, when
we rise, that's the time, that's the time, I love
the best (yet another one of those non-rhyming
songs)
COLORS (DONOVAN)

2-when the (**** ******) falls, over sleepy
garden walls, and the stars begin to twinkle in
the sky, in the midst of a memory, you wander on
back to me, breathing my name with a sigh
DEEP PURPLE (NINO TEMPO & APRIL STEVENS)

3-a long long time ago, on graduation day, you
handed me your book, I signed this way, (*****
*** ***), my love, ******* *** ****, sugar is
sweet my love, but not as sweet as you.
ROSES ARE RED (BOBBY VINTON)

4-saw an eyeball peeping through a smoky cloud
behind the (***** ****), when I said "Joe sent
me" someone laughed at loud behind the (*****
****), all I want to do is join the happy crowd
behind the (***** ****)
GREEN DOOR (JIM LOWE)

5-now I've got a guy and his name is Dooley, he's
my guy and I love him truly, he's not good
looking, heaven knows, but I'm wild about his
crazy clothes
PINK SHOELACES (DODIE STEVENS)

6-my name should be trouble, my name should be
woe, cause trouble and heartache, is all that i
know, ******, (****** **** ***) is my name, my
life has been empty, my heart has been torn. it
musta been raining, the night I was born
LONELY BLUE BOY (CONWAY TWITTY)

7-when the Lord made me, he made a simple man,
not much money and not much land, he didn't make
me no banker or legal charmer, when the Lord made
me, he made a (********* ******), my hands ain't
smooth, my face is rough, but my heart is warm,
and my ways ain't tough
BLACKLAND FARMER (WINK MARTINDALE)

8-beautiful daughter couldn't make up her mind
between a doctor and a lawyer man, the mother
told her daughter go out and find yourself a
(***** **** ******** ***), just like your daddy,
a (***** **** ******** ***)
BROWN EYED HANDSOME MAN (CHUCK BERRY)(BUDDY
HOLLY)

9-once you told me long ago, to the prom with me
you'd go, now you've changed your mind it seems,

Since we have new people joining the group occasionally, I will include instructions with each quiz. I will sing a line or 2 or 3 from a 50's or early 60's song and you name it. Only the title is required, you don't have to know the artist. If the title or words that will give away the title are in the lines, I will **** them out. I will always put a starred out title in parentheses. DO NOT REPLY TO THE LIST WITH YOUR ANSWERS!!! Send them to jamespines@... Thanks for participating in the quiz and good luck!

1-they say the girls are something else (** ********), but looking at them just gives me the blues, cause how you gonna make some time, when all you got is one thin dime, and one thin dime won't even shine yo' shoes

2-I'm gonna wait til the ******** ****, that's when my love comes tumbling down, I'm gonna wait til the ******** *****, when there's no one else around, I'm gonna kiss you girl and hold you, and do all the things I told you, (** *** ******** ****)

3-I love how your eyes close, whenever you kiss me, and when I'm away from you, I love how you miss me, I love the way you always treat me tenderly, but darling, most of all, (* **** *** *** **** **)

4-see the way he walks down the street, watch the way he shuffles his feet, how he holds his head up high when he goes walking by, he's my guy, when he holds my hand, I'm so proud, cause he's not just one of the crowd

5-I hardly ever thank the stars above, for sending me your very precious love, you'll never hear me say a prayer, of thanks to someone way up there, who gave me such a lucky break, oh no darling, only with (***** ****** * ****)

6-throughout history, there have been many songs written about the eternal triangle, this next one tells the story of a Mr Grayson, a beautiful woman and a condemned man named (*** ******), when the sun rises tomorrow, (*** ******) must hang

7-now if I'm seen with that woman, I know I'm gonna die, gotta find a brand new baby, that's the reason why, going to (****** ****), (****** ****) here I come, they got some crazy little women there and I'm gonna get me one

8-c'mon everybody, take a trip with me, down the Mississippi, down to (*** *******), where the honeysuckle's blooming on the honeysuckle vine, and love is blooming there all the time

9-gonna take two weeks, gonna have a fine vacation, gonna take my problem to the United Nations, well I called my congressman and he said, quote, I'd like to help you son, but you're too young to vote

10-if I'm seen with someone new, don't be blue, don't you be blue, I'll be faithful, I'll be true, always true, true to you, there is only one for me and you know who, you know that I'll always be (****** ***)
