Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue

STROKE: Remember the 1st Three Letters.... S. T. R.

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone
that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) .she said she had just
tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared
a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening

Jane's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to
the hospital -
(at 6:00 pm Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had
they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with
us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition
instead.

It only takes a minute to read this...

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he
can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was
getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient
medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the
lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain
damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple
questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)

(i.e. It is sunny out today.)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number
immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his
tongue... If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other,
that is also an indication of a stroke.

A  cardiologist says if  everyone who gets this  e-mail sends it to 10 people;
you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

I have done my part. Will you?

This email is to be read subject to the disclaimer below.
Hi there - just wanted to share the report that has been published - from
our investigative mission in August, to Tuvalu and Kiribati.

http://www.theecologist.org/blogs_and_comments/commentators/other_comments/68088\
6/kiribati_and_tuvalu_will_drown_without_global_climate_action.html

" Overriding throughout both countries, however, is a wide array of
opinion, conjecture and worry ? what is the ?right? thing to do? Both
Kiribati and Tuvalu are among the world?s most threatened nations, of this
there can be no doubt. Whatever the outcome, they both have far more than
rising seas to grapple with. What they need now is a sustainable
development boost that significantly raises the standard of living of
their societies as a whole, while preparing their defences for
climate-induced threats."

.... our mission is not over - Regards "M"

Thank you to all who prayed for me for the meetings in Marton recently. Much
appreciated. It was a very good time of ministry there. ~ Rodney.

YOUR PERSONAL INVITATION FOR YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS TO ATTEND:

This is a gathering that is focused on Prophetic Equipping, Hearing/Discerning
the Voice of God, Releasing of the Spiritual Gifts, Preparation for Holy Spirit
Ministry, Practical Involvement, Love Motivation, Personal Prophetic Ministry,
Healing and Deliverance Ministry . . .

The Gospel Faith Messenger Ministry
Equipping Station

FIRST and THIRD THURSDAY NIGHTS OF EACH MONTH
This Thursday 18th NOVEMBER 2010
7:30 p.m.

YOUare invited to attend The GFM "Equipping Station" Gatherings. The Equipping
Station is under the leadership of Rodney Francis (Founder/Director: "The GFM"
Ministry). His heart is to see God's people equipped for ministry with the Gifts
of the Holy Spirit and knowing how to function through discerning the Voice of
God in their own lives. It is the obeying of what God says that releases His
hands to do what He promises! Obedience to what God says demonstrates to God
that we do believe that it is He Who is speaking to us. Yet, so many Christians
doubt the Voice of God! As a result they do not step out on what He says,
and then lose so many opportunities to be "workers together with God" (2
Corinthians 6:1).

There is a growing anticipation and excitement that the Holy Spirit of God is
stirring in the hearts of many people on the Kapiti Coast . It is therefore very
important that we are equipped as possible to gather in ~ and retain ~ the
harvest.People turn to Christ when they are personally impacted by the Holy
Spirit working through obedient men and women of God. Jesus has a purpose for
every born-again believer! Do you know your purpose and destiny in Jesus?

The venue:
TrilogyTravel Building
5 Epiha Street
PARAPARAUMU
(opposite the Railway Station)

Time: 7:30 p.m.

ALL WELCOME!

These gatherings are for those who want to develop in the Prophetic Ministry, to
be better equipped to be a greater witness for Jesus wherever we go.

You can discover more of the heartbeat of "The Gospel Faith Messenger"
Ministry
by visiting our Web Page:www.gospel.org.nz

Here are the remaining NOVEMBER 2010 Gatherings (mark these dates in your
diary
now):
Thursday 18th: 7:30 p.m. The "Equipping Station" continues at Trilogy Travel
Building, 5 Epiha Street, Paraparaumu. As a result of a very good Saturday on
"The Gift of the Working of Miracles" we are going to build on that this week at
ES. Some who attended last Saturday will share, (including Rodney, Tom Finlay,
Grant & Justine Ashton), and we will continue to explore the importance of the
miraculous in our Christian walk and service (see attached booklet on "The
'Dunamis' Power Of God" ~ available on Thursday night for $2.00). Further
enquiries to: Rodney & Jean Francis, Telephone: 04-904 0727; E-Mail:
gfm@...

* For Equipping Station, Please wear warm clothing; even bring a blanket, just
in case you need it. Thanks.
Sunday 21st: 3:00 p.m. Paul reminded Timothy to fan into flame the gift of God
and on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. you have the opportunity to do just that. We are
holding a special gathering at Dave and Lisa Moger's home: 8 Gandalf Crescent,
Paraparaumu, for everyone who would like to fan into flame their prophetic
gifting. We have an opportunity to input prophetically into the lives of 30 men
(will not be present) in one go and will do so by making tapes for all of them
in one session! All are welcome for what I am sure will be an exciting and
dynamic time of hearing from God for this group of men. Further enquiries to:

Some family and friends and I were looking at Google Earth, which has the
ability to show underwater elevations. Within the lagoon and southeast of the
airstrip of Funafuti, there is a lot of very shallow water - maybe 1 or 2 feet
deep. We were thinking that Tuvaluans might be able to wade in that water, dig
up some soil, bring it onto the island and dump it and therefore add elevation
to the terrain in select spots on Funafuti. Later, houses could be built on the
higher-elevation spots. As long as live coral isn't dug up, it seems that the
worst that could happen is that the transplanted soil eventually erode back into
the shallow water. Whatever could be done to slow that erosion would make the
process more efficient.

Hi All

We're getting pretty sick and tired of what our politicians are playing at -
really!

Just let the bloomin' government does what is best for the country and leave out
those game playing stuff for petes' sake.

Its getting embarrassingly well-known all over the globe that our govt LOVES
having these votes of no-confidence VERY SO OFTEN - its not funny anymore!.

Get your Christmas hats on and enjoy the season's festivies..

Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee - Bonne Sante a tous..

Tuvalu parliament dissolved

A no confidence motion against Maatia Toafa has succeeded in Tuvalu's
parliament.

Tuvalu's parliament has been dissolved after a successful no-confidence
motion against Prime Minister Maatia Toafa.

The motion was passed in Tuesday's session of parliament after Foreign
Affairs Minister Willy Telavi crossed the floor.

It is not known when parliament will meet again, or who will form the
new government.

Fakafetai lasi e Stephen mo tala mai ikoona ki te ‘tou Malo.
“A small nation Tuvalu but viable“, was the headline news of the front page
of the former Honolulu Advertiser back then in 2004 if I can recall it rightly.
But now, it seems like that’s not true anymore because  the whistle blows
more time than our population put together. What’s the motive behind these
overnight changing of government anyway? Is it because of too much mouse-cats
games or a new paradigm shift in the principles of Good Governance Leadership?

Basically, I think it’s time to give the people of Tuvalu their government but
not politicians anymore. For a people to form such a government, they must have
had the means and imperatives  in their free society to initiate and embed all
their powers, prerogatives and privileges, including their rights and freedoms,
to reach the stage: All powers are vested in and are derived from the people;
that they then give up as gifts certain limited powers to their elected
representatives to handle for them, which can be returned to them if they are
perverted. All other powers remain with the people and at their will, and the
people retained the right to utilize real democracy within the means of the
society to determine and prevent the maladministration of government, and their
inalienable, indubitable and indefeasible right to reform, alter or even abolish
it. Alternatively, in the case of Tuvalu, blending moderate republicanism might
seem to be a
call option and helpful to address the current problems of overnight changing
government, I mean if its substance remains the same(Westminister) but only its
principle shifted to republicanism. Technically, we need a balance-of-power
sharing between the people and the government. Moreover to put into perspective,
the lack of checks and balances means that misconduct by a prime minister may
never be discovered
but the direct mandate of a president makes him or her more accountable in the
eyes of a nation. The reasoning behind this argument is that a prime minister is
"shielded" from public opinion by the apparatus of state, being several steps
removed. However, that presidents cannot typically be removed from power by the
legislators when their policies no longer reflect the wishes of the citizenry
but can only be removed by an Impeachment trial for "High Crimes and
Misdemeanors or Motion of Disqualification by Two-Third of the legislators in
the parliament," whereas prime ministers can typically be removed if they fail a
Motion of Confidence in their government.

Basically, the presidential system, a popularly elected leadership is inherently
more democratic than a leadership chosen by a legislative body(prime minister),
even if the legislative body was itself elected, to rule.A prime minister is
usually chosen by the people's representatives, while a president is usually
chosen directly by the people in a popular vote. Even the Westminister
system(parliamentarianism) of the UK today had shared power with the people, but
not like before. Another good example is Kiribati, a predominantly and
characteristically more into a republicanism is really established a formal
reputation in good governance within the families of small-island nations.
Likewise, we have to adopt a similar resolution to our own cause.

However, the only challenge here is how can we do a better job of explaining our
people at outer islands about republicanism than the former 1998 referendum.
Remember, the real integrity of any democratic nation starts from the fabrics of
its political system when people(voters) ask themselves what they can do for
their government but not to ask what the government can do for them. Please,
save our Tuvalu Government by voting for the people but not for politicians. The
government belongs to the people but not politicians.

I couldn't agree more with Samuelu.
Or perhaps it is time that Tuvalu introduces a Political Party system with an
anti- party hopping legislation.
So for those who have self interest once been voted in by the people, they will
have to go back to the electors to endorse their changing sides at a whim.

It is the nation that suffers more than those individuals in Parliament. Come on
fellow Tuvaluans, lets do something collectively to end the instabilities.
