I hope everyone had a good Christmas. Here in Grafton, just north of Milwaukee,
WI, we celebrated with a record rain fall! We even have a little trickle of
water in our basement to remember the event.

But, now it's back to coins! I have fifteen auctions ending Sunday night.
There are some nice world coins, three lots of ancients, a rare, uncleaned
Constantine the Great posthumous issue and a several other rare ancients
including an unlisted Valerian II (256-258 AD) As and a DIVO NERVE antoninianus
issued by Trajan Decius (249-251 AD):

http://shop.ebay.com/samhan_53024/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

You will notice I have two proof British coins up for sale, a 1937 penny and an
1882-H farthing that is impaired. If you are the winning bidder for either of
these coins and, when you receive it, do not think it is a proof, I will pay
your return postage if you send it back.

More auctions start tomorrow night as well!

Here are my auctions for this week. I've put up a couple of US coin auctions,
some nice 19th and 20th century foreign coins, several lots of ancient coins and
some rare ancients; an unlisted Valerian II As, a Saloninus antoninianus, a DIVO
NERVE commemorative antoninianus issued by Trajan Decius and an uncleaned
Constantine I posthumous AETERNA PIETAS AE-4. If you like uncleaned coins this
one is a rare coin.

I love the huge Trajan sestertius. It's a very nice coin.

My latest batch of auctions of world and ancient coins ends tomorrow evening.
There are some bargains to be had among the Romans, especially the lower grade
Vespasian IVDAEA denarius, the Florian antoninianus and the lovely EF twin
victories. Please also note my "big boy" of the week, that wonderful Macrinus
denarius!

Speaking of the IVDAEA denarius, my latest copy of "Biblical Archaeology Review"
arrived yesterday and they have a great illustrated article on the Judea Capta

I'm going to start a new round of auctions tomorrow night and for the first time

Thanks again for all your support of my auctions.

I have a couple of lots of coins, including one that contains antoniniani of
Allectus, Quintillus and Numerian and a number of other high grade bronze and
silvered bronze coins. There's also a low grade Severus II follis for the
bargain hunter.

Dear List,

Here are my eBay auctions for this week. All the money I make goes into the
fund so that my wife and daughters can come with me on my sabbatical next summer
while I am a volunteer on the dig at the Roman fort site of Vindolanda in the
UK. (They won't dig. They'll relax and see the sites.)

I have sixteen auctions, most of the ancients. There are several lots of
cleaned and uncleaned coins and a very high grade uncleaned silvered Licinius I
AE-3 for that should be fun to clean.

I have three rarer coins this week; a ROMA medallic AE-4 (a very rare and
interesting little coin), an Aemilian VIRTVS AVG antoninianus and a Divus
Galerius follis with FORTI FORTVNAE reverse.

There is a Hadrian ADVENTVS AVG dupondius with a great historical reverse, but a
problem obverse and a number of other nice Romans along with two auctions of
British or British India coins.

Please take a look and I hope you find something worth bidding on.

Something to consider is whether or not this is soft solder like that
used for plumbing or hard solder usually used for jewelry. Hard solder is
much higher temperature and requires the use of a torch. Soft solder is,
well, soft and could be easily scraped off with a sharp tool or removed
with solder wick and a soldering iron.

Hello group,

I just wanted to let everyone know that some high quality fakes of rare AEs are
making the rounds. I recently purchased 20 of these from a German ebayer through
an "offline" email offer. I probably wouldn't of suspected that they were fake
had a bought only one. But the 20 were evenly divided into four different types
and they looked too much alike. I found them listed as fakes at Forum Ancient
Coins and at a link found on Wildwinds Alphabetical Index of Imperial Rulers.
Link:

http://wildwinds. com/coins/ ric/fakes2009. htm

Here's a lot of these coins currently being offered on ebay as real:

http://cgi.ebay. de/6-Stueck- roemische- Muenzen-Constant inus-Constans_
W0QQitemZ2605056 85788QQcmdZViewI temQQptZM% C3%BCnzen_ Medaillen?
hash=item3ca7594 f1c

This seller offers no refund, but claims the coins are genuine. Interesting that
he also says these coins have been in his collection for many years, but these
fakes have been circulating for about one year.

Always bid carefully. My rule is if I have any doubt, scroll further.

Best regards,
Ken

The ancients include an unlisted Claudius II antoninianus with reverse of VENVS
AVG / SPQR (this one is rare), a Lucilla denarius, a five coin uncleaned coin
lot that includes a Procopius AE-3, and a Constantine II GLORIA EXERCITVS with
an absolutely killer reverse.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions about any of the
coins.

Hi Joe,

Sorry I haven't dropped a note. The issue on the main page www.commonbronze.com
was simply that the link was pointed to www.commonbronze.NET/catalog instead of
www.commonbronze.com/catalog .... I have a redirect in the .net area ... but I
allowed the .net domain to expire (I was in the woods) ..... so I have renewed
it ... just need to set servers ... in the meantime I have fixed the link so
that it should work for you now from the main page.

Tony

I saw that Tony sent a email to other site and not here saying there was issues
with Commonbronze chat only but thats not what I saw.I tried to enter there
sales area and went to the same godaddy.com site as I did when trying to access
the chat.So which is it Tony?Any link from the homepage seems to be the problem
for me.

I'm getting the same thing. It would appear they are having problems, or are
down for mtce purposes. Perhaps server problems?

I was unable to get to AP auctions today because everytime I tried to go to the
chat site I was redirected to a godaddy.com site.I tried 2 different computers
and two different providers and had the same result.I am also having the same
result when I tried to go to the common bronze web site .Does anyone else have
the same problem? What do you say Tony?
