WELCOME TO AMERICAN and INTERNATIONAL MULATTOES...We are racially mixed people of B/W descent. I am Black/Jewish (Black mother, White Jewish father) from N.YC. Our group’s co-owner is B/W mixed (White father and mixed race mother),originally from Virginia Beach and now lives in New York.
WHAT WE STAND FOR...
WE BELIEVE THAT JUSTICE AND FAIRNESS FOR ALL PEOPLE OF BLACK DESCENT IS THE GREATER ISSUE, AND NOT ONLY THE RECOGNITION OF BEING BIRACIAL. MULATTOES HAVE ALWAYS HAD A HOME WITHIN THE BLACK RACE AND COMMUNITY, AND WE PERSONALLY FEEL IT WOULD BE GOOD IF THIS REMAINED AS SO. We welcome both American and International Mulattoes, who wish to cover topics, events and issues that concern themselves with the Black community, and with b/w biracials. Our FREEDOM OF SPEECH talk group covers a host of wide-ranging interests including: race & racism, the Black community, civil rights, Black & world history, the arts, the Black elite, movies, religion, weather, news, music and more! We take a firm stand against hatred, and believe that injustices in any form are placeless and should be continually challenged. We are against the realization of a so-called “COLOR-BLIND” society which is the PRIVATIZATION OF RACE. And we applaud Black and Jewish organizations like the NAACP and Anti-Defamation League. With news stories of "nooses" and "swastikas", we're grateful they will continue the struggle for justice-since this struggle is FAR FROM BEING OVER.
"The role of the racial middle is a critical one. It can reinforce white supremacy if the middle deludes itself into thinking it can be just like white if it tries hard enough. Conversely, the middle can dismantle white supremacy if it refuses to be the middle, if it refuses to buy into racial hierarchy, if it refuses to abandon communities of Black and Brown people, choosing instead to form alliances with them."-Law Professor Mari Matsuda
